O'Neill: We'll just have to cross that bridge when we come to it.
Bra'tac: No, the bridge is too well guarded.
O'Neill: No, actually, there I was using a cliche.

O'Neill: Well, we have a number of... shuttles.
Bra'tac: These shuttles, they are a formidable craft?
O'Neill: Oh, yeah. Yeah. Bad day.

Book Quotes

Post by Anthroguy101 »

Random quotes you've seen in books. You don't even have to know who said them, just put them down. Fiction, nonfiction, comic, whatever. Spoilers should be put in spoilers.

"Didn't the firemen used to put out fires?" Fahrenheit 451
"We have not loved our neighbors as ourselves. We are truly sorry, and we humbly repent." Episcopal Book of Common Prayer, 1979
"Those may be the last printers we ever buy." What Would Google Do?
"We could just lower the price of oil." Zoom: The Global Race to Fuel the Car of the Future
"Snapfish has only one employee." The Big Switch: Rewiring the World: From Edison to Google
"...he-who-must-not-be-named." Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone
"But we're naked all the time!" Grape, Housepets! Naked All the Time
"Guard it with your life." The Golden Compass
"The Chinese were even more egocentric." Thirteen Orphans: Breaking the Wall (yeah, that one's a little more Indie).

"For animals, the entire universe has been neatly divided into things to (a) mate with, (b) eat, (c) run away from, and (d) rocks." Discworld, Equal Rites
"You think there are the good people and the bad people. You are wrong, of course. There are, always and only, the bad people, but some of them are on opposite sides." Lord Vetinari, Guards, Guards!

Eh, I'll find more later. This is a neat idea, though.

Whats kinda sad was I didn't realize that he was a robot until the third time I've seen it. So i was kinda confused when he didn't die from that, or why he said" Not bad for a... human." Haha

"She had asked: What is he? A friend or an enemy?
The alethiometer answered: He is a murderer.
When she saw the answer, she relaxed at once. He could find food, and show her how to reach Oxford, and those were powers that were useful, but he still might have been untrustworthy or cowardly. A murderer was a worthy companion."

Thanks for the patiennce. i should have researched before posting a topic about this.

he sealed his fate... Entrusting his future to the cards,
man clings to a dim hope.
Yes, the arcana is the means by which all is revealed.
Attaining ones,
dream requires and stern will and unfailing determination.

II - The silent voice within ones heart whispers the most
profound wisdom

III -Celebrate life grandeur,
it's brilliance,
it's magnificence

IV - Only Courage in face doubt can lead one to the answer

V - It is indeed a precious gift to
understand the forces that guide oneself.

VI - There is both joy and wonder
in coming to understand another.

VII - One of life's greatest blessing is the freedom
to pursue one's goal.

VIII - To find the one true path one must seek guidence
admist uncertainty

IX -It requires great courage to look and oneself
honestly and forge your one's path

X - Alongside time exist fate,
the bearer of cruelty

XIII - The moment man devoured the fruit of knowledge,
he sealed his fate...
Entrusting his future to the cards,
man clings to a dim hope.
Yet arcana is the means by which all is revealed.
Beyond the Beaten Path lies the absolute end.
It matters not who you are, Death awaits you.

2)Zettai hero project (in this game there's the funniest line ever put in a videogame, IMO. But I can't post it here because I don't thnk it can be considered PG-13, so I'll post another one that I liked):
"You obtained the power of love! Probably."
