'One day Alice came to a fork in the road and saw a Cheshire cat in a tree.
"Which road do I take?" she asked.
"Where do you want to go?" was his response.
"I don't know," Alice answered.
"Then," said the cat, "it doesn't matter."'

Rest satisfied with doing well, and leave others to talk of you as they please.
Pythagoras (582 BC - 507 BC)

It comes from saying no to 1,000 things to make sure we don't get on the wrong track or try to do too much.
Steve Jobs (1955 - 2011), BusinessWeek Online, Oct. 12, 2004

I would rather have a mind opened by wonder than one closed by belief.

While I 100% agree with that statement and why you like it , wouldn't that kinda make it a paradox ? I mean , "all general statements are false" is itself a general statement , so according to itself , it is false , but if it's false , then the "fact" that it's false , is false.....

I was digging through my thesaurus for words like counsel and found committee, here was their examples of the word that made me think of my ferret counsel (committee) thing.

"Committee: A group of men who individually can do nothing but as a group can decide nothing can be done." - Fred Allen

"A committee is a group of the unwilling, chosen from the unfit, to do the unnecessary." - Richard Harkness

Adam Corby is a master of Sarcasm in that story.

Leave America and you'll find that the consumers in many other countries enjoy watching advertising. Not because the products are better, but because the ads are produced to be entertaining. Sometimes they are funny. Sometimes they are dramatic. Sometimes they are just beautiful.

It's funny; it's a real balancing act. In TV, everybody's talking about authenticity. In order to make 'Dirty Jobs' authentic, I really can't be overly informed. The minute I am, I become a host... It's a very tricky business paying a tribute to work, because TV is very bad at it.

A bit of a nautical flavour tonight along with a quote about writing. These are all from a famous author called Joseph Conrad. I'm now feeling rather inspired to write myself. :)

“The sea has never been friendly to man. At most it has been the accomplice of human restlessness.”

"The sea never changes and its works, for all the talk of men, are wrapped in mystery. "

"The sea — this truth must be confessed — has no generosity. No display of manly qualities — courage, hardihood, endurance, faithfulness — has ever been known to touch its irresponsible consciousness of power."

"My task which I am trying to achieve is, by the power of the written word, to make you hear, to make you feel — it is, before all, to make you see. That — and no more, and it is everything. If I succeed, you shall find there according to your deserts: encouragement, consolation, fear, charm — all you demand; and, perhaps, also that glimpse of truth for which you have forgotten to ask."

I believe that 95% of the world is like that. Then another 3% is something I can't understand. The 1% is me understanding everything else and the other 1% is me just giving the **** up on it.
