Joy? : The new computers at my school are touchscreens. It's pretty neat but at the same time it seems like an unnecessary expense unless used for the drafting or design students. Especially considering the fact that there are a bunch of these in the library and these had to be at least $900, probably even more. I don't really know whether to classify this as a joy or a sorrow. Bit of both I think.

Sorrow: It's "Super Double Coupon" week at Harris Teeter. Basically, if you have a coupon that's $2.00 or lower, it doubles, but you can only use 20 per VIC Card every 24 hours. A VIC Card is basically a membership card that gets you savings and stuffs. Some customers try to get as many savings as they can by being crafty with the rules (trying to break them). Last night, it was about 9:30, some customer has over 100 coupons. I'm like, "You can only double 20 coupons per VIC Card." She says, "It's okay, I have 6 different card numbers." 6!!! I say she can't do that. Only one VIC Card per person. And then she gets mad at me. It took the Customer Service Supervisor and the Co-Manager of the store to tell this lady that she couldn't do this. The Co-Manager was a boss doh. The biggest part of working for Harris Teeter is keeping you act together when a customer is being ridiculous. I could tell that he was starting to get really infuriated, but he still kept his act together and was polite the whole time. I ended up checking her out, while getting grief the whole time.

Joy: Tonight (Sunday night) is my light night working there. I'm going back to school as a junior.

Joy; Finally a doctor realized there was something wrong with me and aims to help make my body better.

Sorrow; I found out from the above doctor that this whole thing could have been done two years ago, but that doctor at the time didn't understand the test, or tell me the results.
Also today my car broke down, no idea how to fix it.

Joy: My second job this summer was updating medical history for a doctor's office. I went through the shelves one file at a time and put the information into the computer and today I have finally finished. I made a tally sheet throughout the whole process and I recored that I have updated 2319 files. Oh my gosh, it took forever, but I'm finished!!!

Joy: I'm going back to college tomorrow (Saturday).

Joy: I've had a great summer. Hope y'all did too!!

Joy: Yes, Cm4f, great summer indeed! I had a lot of time relax and see a lot of friends.
Joy: I also had enough of it and I'm ready to go back to school. I quit one of my jobs so I can do nearly twice the course work that I normally would've done. So that's a half semester closer to graduation.
Sorrow: Got dragged into the middle of a feud between two friends. They wont even talk to each other and they expect me to tell the other what they have to say.

Lucky. In Hipsterland most of the houses have no air conditioning, mainly because it rarely gets hot around here. But when it does (And it does) it's panic in the streets. I miss Louisiana, and the creature comfort of in-home A/C. :(

As a fellow writer, I know your pain far too well. Except here my problem is I get started and immediately become hugely critical of my work, which ends up demoralizing me to the point where I simply don't want to work on it anymore. Then my idea stagnates and never gets made.
I hate being a critic. It makes writing so much less fun than it used to be :(

I know how you feel. When I try to draw, I can imagine what I want to draw, but when it comes to putting it on paper, I just can't. I get a few lines in and no matter how long I fiddle with it, it never comes out right.

It is quite frustrating to me. I've abandoned my story for a year due to my health problems. But I did not want to leave it dead. All this year I was thinking about my story. I've seen pictures in my imagination, the characters. I feel a strong bond with my story. If whole year the story kept living in my head, then that means something. I pulled myself together one day and began to write it again, yet... I don't know. I know what I want to write about, yet when I try to pull it out of my head and mold it on paper, it becomes hard. Like I'm missing some kind of synchronization between my imagination and my writing abilities. I'm working on update since Wednesday. Each day when I woke up, I tried to put my thoughts on the story, so my brain can work only on that. But somehow, when I finally sit on front of my computer, after some time I keep loosing my focus and I become stressed, and stress makes me drop the work and either go outside for a walk, drive to mall, make laundry, read something on internet, watch videos on YT or listen to music. Hours pass, in some time I manage myself to sit on my work again. And then, doing-other-things-than-I-should cycle returns.
I'm trying to find out what's the cause of that, so I can write the way I really should do. Either because it's of surrounding, low self-confidence, which I lacked for years because of my upbringing, problems with expressing my feelings. Frustrations. Psychological things that keep me chained somewhere inside. No control of own imagination. English learned not good enough. Inordinate need for perfection. Or I'm just stupid. I don't know for how long it will take. But I hope to find solution one day.

Joy: While I was in Chicago for 9 days over the summer doing the NYLF Medicine program, I recorded
my fellow program member's (who also paid over $3000 to enroll and get to Chicago) phone numbers in a notebook
because they were from all over the world (one actually came from the Virgin Islands). :D :D

Sorrow: As I was leaving, I forgot the notebook full of phone numbers back in Chicago. I doubt I will ever see my
medical peers again. :( :(

Sorrow: Any car I have, hates me and this one knew it was the start of the semester. Just a few hours before my first class, it starts to run rough and the engine light appeared and started blinking. Then I noticed that it wasn't even shifting right away as I was accelerating. So I decide to drive across town at 20 mph to Auto Zone where my friend works to ask about it. She checked my engine with this engine checking thingy and it told her that it was either a cylinder misfire and something else. She luckily was able to give me a ride to class but I spent the rest of the evening replacing my transmission gasket. No time for studying, I was too busy being under my car, covered in transmission fluid and trying to no mess up my car any more than it was. Tried to drive it the next day, NOPE, still doing the same thing. I continued to try and find out what was wrong with it for the rest of yesterday afternoon. Today I finally took it to the shop and it turns out it was the ignition coil. Okay, that explains everything. I luckily was able to get it running right before my class today.
Joy: Was able to catch up on school work by staying up all night. It was also good that I decided to take a majority of my classes online this semester.
