Hmm... I'll try this.Radio Blue Heart wrote:There is a game going around Tumblr and I wanted to see if you all wanted to play.
Its the Name-Song Game.
Take your name, your user name or your real name, and chose a song whose name stars with each letter in your name! Try to make it a song that represents you in some way. Either it's sentiment or lyrical content, or if you just really like that song!
P - "Perfect Disguise"
U - "Unsolved Mysteries"
N - "Not To Touch the Earth"
C - "Cretin Hop"
H - "Hangin' Round"
Y - "Your Pretty Face is Going to Hell"
Wasn't very easy, but I'm good with these choices...

The same as with Swedish house, Dutch House, French House, and Paris House, I suppose.Amazee Dayzee wrote:What's the difference between Eurodance and Italodance?

Here's a second go at that song-name-game... thing.
P - "Pinhead"
U - "[Untitled]"
N - "Never Ending Math Equation"
C - "Come As You Are"
H - "Howling At the Moon"
Y - "You're the Good Things"
Like I said before, it wasn't easy.
I think my first one was better, maybe I'll do this again in a month or so... it's fun.

Ok, but they're part of the big EDM family, too. Don't use EDM as way to call the current Electro and Progressive House.GreatKitsune wrote:Nope. Never strayed from EDM.Cesco wrote:Have you ever heard of and tried to make Eurodance and Italodance genres tracks?
The second is a derivation of the first, and got its best expression early 2000s (nostalgia... ), where differences between them became more evident.Amazee Dayzee wrote:What's the difference between Eurodance and Italodance?
Pretty, they're all derivation of main genres developed in the respective countries. I like the sounds effects of French House.GreatKitsune wrote:The same as with Swedish house, Dutch House, French House, and Paris House, I suppose.Amazee Dayzee wrote:What's the difference between Eurodance and Italodance?

Re: Music.
Technically, not all electronic music is EDM, tho. I meant to say "mainstream EDM", but still, most people don't realize genres like synthpop, industrial, IDM, and arguably even electro aren't actually EDM.Cesco wrote:Pretty addicting song.

Re: Music.
So you've probably never heard electro house, progressive house, big room house, mainroom house, hardhouse, tropical house, tech house, deep house, dark house, bouncy house (that's a thing!), acid house, ambient house, bassline house, Baltimore club, Chicago house, Euro house, disco house, garage house, future house, funk house, glitch house, hard dance, Italo house, Latin house, jazz house, minimal house, swing house, and tribal house, then?Amazee Dayzee wrote:I've heard of Eurodance but never of any Houses beyond just plain House and never heard anything about Italodance

You missed the Fidget House.
Indeed, not all electronic made music is meant to have a dancing beat. EDM stands for Electronic Dance Music. Eurodance and derived are part of it, actually.GreatKitsune wrote:Technically, not all electronic music is EDM, tho. I wouldn't go looking for any hidden or deep meaning in any song by The Holy Modal Rounders

I decided to do the name thing also because I was bored and I hoped my choices could spark some sort of conversation although that probably won't be the case. Anyway when I couldn't find a song for some of the letters, I used a loophole and used songs that didn't BEGIN with a letter.
A - "Ain't No Other Man" by Christina Aguilera
M - "My Humps" by Black Eyed Peas
A - "All Falls Down" by Kanye West featuring Syleena Johnson
Z - "'03 Bonnie & Clyde" by Jay-Z featuring Beyoncé

E - "E.T." by Katy Perry featuring Kanye West
D - "Disturbia" by Rihanna

Y - "Your Love" by Nicki Minaj
Z - "...Baby One More Time" by Britney Spears
E - "5 ‘O Clock" by T-Pain featuring Lily Allen and Wiz Khalifa

Only EDM genres for me, except Dubstep, Drum & Bass, Breaks, Trip-Hop and such. When happens, I listen to other genres, better if songs from the past. Finally, I hate most Latin American music...GreatKitsune wrote:So what kinds of music do you guys listen to?

Where I live it's ridiculously overplayed. There are maybe 3 local radio stations out of >200 that don't play country. I make occasional exceptions, but for the most part, I'm just sick of it.JeffCvt wrote:We're almost the same in the fact we both listen to almost everything, with the exception that country is actually my favorite above all else.GreatKitsune wrote:As I pointed out earlier, EVERYTHING!!! Psychedelic, progressive, krautrock, funk, blues, hip-hop, garage rock, experimental, shoegaze, punk (none of that 90's/00's pop-punk), metal (doom and sludge), jazz (ragtime and dixieland), noise rock/lo-fi, indie, and folk.GreatKitsune wrote:So what kinds of music do you guys listen to?
