Now tell me about the alberti cipher. or you could simply send me a link to the amnesya forums which you got the answers off of.
Zander, you wound me with skepticism! I didn't use any forums to get to where I am. If I did, I certainly wouldn't be stuck there, now.
I
did ask a friend for help on a few levels, but I assumed that was similar to, uh... What you're asking for now.
Either way, since you already know it's the Alberti cipher, I assume you know that the outer ring of the cipher is outright presented to you. You probably also already know where the message you're supposed to decode is located. And if you're been
messing around with contrast and brightness on the note itself, you should also have the letter order for the inner ring of the cipher. As for the cipher itself, how it works is,
the first letter you are given from the code message is the 'starting point'-- where you have to align the inner wheel with A. From there, you find the second encoded letter on the inner circle, and match it to the translated letter on the outer circle. However, the thing about the Alberti cipher is that it can move freely and without notice-- so, sometimes you will seem to get a completely random letter/number instead of what you should get. ... You should be able to recognize it, if it throws a Q or a 3 or something back at you. In this case, you need to take the first letter that went out of sequence, and use that as a NEW starting point to align from A.Knowing all that, you should be able to get your two word solution, and hopefully know what to do with it from there.
