 Re: Favorite Books/Authors
Ghosts of Onyx, read it twice, half way through the audiobook. It is undoubtedly my favourite book of all time. Oh and a sequel to it is being written, I hope it lives up to it's predecessor.

 Re: Favorite Books/Authors
Off-topic: Currently, I am reading Shaman's Crossing by Robin Hobb.
On-topic: My favorite books include The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe; Redwall (not a real big fan of the series now); Eragon (it got me back into reading, so I gotta give it some credit where credit is due, despite it being unoriginal); Night; His Majesty's Dragon; and Throne of Jade. Favorite authors: None. I don't like to pick authors, since it'll only distract me from trying other authors. But I am particularly fond of Naomi Novik's work. Even if she needs to tone it down with the complex sentence structures.

 Re: Favorite Books/Authors
Right now I'm reading:
Ender's Game ... (awesome book) Trying Hard To Hear You ... (it's okay, but I dislike the really informal writing style) The Last Song by Nicholas Sparks (I'm going to try to suffer through all his books, so I have a valid argument when I say his books are crap. heh.) Sorry if I just offended someone. =(;;

 Re: Favorite Books/Authors
Personally? I'm a huge fan of all of Tamora Pierce's works, from her Tortall books to her Circle of Magic Books.
To get into the series or for younger readers, "The Circle of Magic" and the "Song of the Lioness" quartets are the begginings of the series, but the longer and best of her books would be the Beka Cooper trilogy-in-production, the Will of the Empress, and the Trickster's Choice/Trickster's Queen duet.
A pretty good middling point between her older works to get into the series, and the length and depth of her newer books would be the "Immortals" quartet, starting with the book Wild Magic.

The last book I read was "The Count of Monte Cristo," or was it "Siddhartha?" Meh. Point is, I read them 9 months ago.

Karen Traviss is writing the sequel - I think her writing style will make the sequel fantastic. I hope.

 Re: Favorite Books/Authors
I knew she was writing it, I don't think it'll be as good as the original because I've read one of her books before and it got boring, very boring...

Sue Grafton's alphabet mystery series is pretty good. I also like Christie and any book on mythology.

 Re: Favorite Books/Authors
I'm currently reading Night Watch by Terry Pratchett, the discworld series on a whole is very good. Also I highly recommend the Well World saga by Jack L. Chalker. Tho most are out of print now..

 Re: Favorite Books/Authors
Thanks! But I still don't think i'll read it. Mostly because I'll NEVER find all 32 books in one place and I'l go insane waiting to read the next book.

They're bound stacks of cellulose-based pulp strategically stained with ink to tell a story, are they not?

 Re: Favorite Books/Authors
I'm now itching to get my hands on the rest of the Ender's Game saga. The best series I've read in a while.
