So no comic this week . . .

Perhaps I should tell you guys some of my ideas for other projects. Because I have a LOT of other projects.

Music Comics
I had an idea of doing comics put to the lyrics of various pieces of music, something like a still music video. The kind with narrative structure anyway. They would differ in visual style depending on the tone of the music, and be full-page or infinite canvas.

It would be something like this, but be aware this was made in 2005: http://rickgriffin.deviantart.com/art/S ... e-19693379

I'm just throwing out my ideas here, I don't think I'm going to actually do a Music Comic anytime soon.

However, I might do one of these:

I had an idea for a cheaply and quickly done comic that would be one step above stick figures in art level, but would basically be stomping grounds for random silly ideas that don't fit into Housepets. I also had the idea of sharing this with my brother though I haven't brought the idea up to him yet even though I said I would over Christmas vacation.

That...
Is...
Awesome!!!!
Have you had or considered having it animated and put to music? I'd love to give it a try if you don't mind. I've never done something like that before though so I don't know if I would be able to.

Coincidentally, I am thinking of starting a webcomic, nothing too serious. Though I can't draw for my life so I'd make stickfigures with it (as if my avatar didn't give it away :P)

I don't plan on making it a "humour" comic, more of an actual "drama" with a story line.

Wait, I'm starting to ramble, I'll stop

I have thought about it before, but I just can't seem to get a handle on Flash as I've never really even gotten the basics down.

In the New Age

I always take the chance to talk about this whenever I have the opportunity.

Yeah, it's a blatantly furry story. Also, it was my first webcomic. I think that is still somewhere on Comic Genesis even though I made it back when they were Keenspace.

Yup, still there, butchered and then cancelled due to conflicting interests (between me and my parents)

However, since then I have decided to rework INA to be a novel. I have been working on this novel for a very long time to the point where it almost hurts. But eventually, I am going to plow through.

The plot is also different from what I originally intended. It's very much R-rated (though books seem to be on a different level than visual mediums), and also hard to explain because the world setting and the plot are so interconnected.

Well, finally switched to Fire Fox and saw the picture.

Very well done and I definitely think it would be cool if you could do some more of that (if you wanted to that is >_>; ).

EDIT: And your old webcomic looks pretty cool. I wouldn't mind if you revived it.

If I do revive my old comic it would probably only be to tell side stories, since the main story is going to just be a novel now.

Well, if it's ever published then I'll be sure to purchase it.

Same here! I really need to get into more writing. :( If only I had some inspiration >.< I saw an ad on the side of HPC the other day for another comic to remain nameless and it looked to me to be a furry comic set in space, and that really intruiged me, but I checked it out and it wasn't... I might write something along those lines, perhaps I'll just do some sort of short story in the next week or ten to see if I might be interested in contuining.

What about opening up an art forum on here Rick? somewhere we can share ideas, concepts, writings, and well.... art? :D

That might be a good idea if a few more people support it!

Personally I'm paranoid about putting any of my works on the internet since someone could just swipe it up and pass it off as their own.

But I wouldn't mind people sharing their own works....I'm not a hypocrite...

I'm usually on and off with my writing, though I really wish I didn't have so many interests because if you have too many interests then you try to get a little piece from every one of your interests. It does NOT work out, let me tell you.

That's something you gotta deal with...

Though as a professional photographer I pray every day that someone rips an image off my website cuz boy if I find out, I'll sue them and never have to work again! (you can get up to 7 million)

Wooo, why do I feel that I'm late here? Ah well lets respond to what I can!

Well the 'music comic' made my computer crash every time I tried to look at it hahaha... soo you won't be getting any comments on that one from me.

Silly stick figure comics you say? Sure why not? If you're bored, and got the time it couldn't hurt. And.. It's kind of hard to worry about morality when you're looking at something so primitive.

Your... earlier furry comic here.. ehn..glanced a few of the older ones. Yeah, this looks old, I'll say that much haha. Will see if I have time to read through it all. The race line up was fine though; no Morphs with over exaggerated features that would annoy me (Curse you Wizards why did you make Dragonborn so horrible?). On that note:I like the the look of the basilisks.

The outfits clearly suggest something more medieval, but driving around in cars, and bikes most certainly does not. Sort of a fantasy/Sci-fi final fantasy type of setting? Though the word 'New age' makes me think Post apoc.

Anyway, Art section on the forum? Certainly possible, though I can see us getting a few trolls who decide to post a wave of furry porn in there or some such haha. Sorry not quite into that. But right you likely wouldn't see many works from me there though.. just comments, and the occasional game related writing.

And on that topic... I don't so much write stories as I run them. I always have at least three role playing games running during a week in chat lines, and sometimes a few forum RPs as well (such as the one I'm having trouble starting here haha). Typically I'm only a DM in one or two games at a time though; player for the rest.

Oh it's okay. That is way, way old artwork, and poor storytelling. The lineup picture is something I did late last year.

Haha.. you should see what happens when I attempt 'artwork'. I can't even manage proper stick figures  . So compared to that it isn't so bad.

Haha, I remember looking at that INA list on your FA a while ago and thinking how awesome it would be to see a rat and a dragon right next to each other. 8B anyway yeah a redo of that would be really good to do.

the kind of one-step-from-sticks comic with just silly stuff is pretty much a nice little tried-and-true genre thing whatever you want to call it. I'd like to see your take on it. ouo

full size of the music thing gives me red x, so no comment on that i guess.

i would very very very very very much support an art forum.
very much
very
much
c:

but, uh, only if writing and music were counted as art
i mean seriously it peeves me for some reason when i see 'art' forums and they only have pictures and when i try to submit a piece of literature or something they all shout at me for putting it in the wrong forum (which is even worse when they don't even have a forum FOR it).
i mean what is up with that.
but that didn't really have to do with much.

Would be in favour of an art forum. But poetry gets counted, otherwise I walk.

The music comic idea: now this was something I was actually thinking about on my last overnight bus trip. It wouldn't have the music in the background, but the lyrics for the song would be on page, while a story would be told through the art. They don't necessarily have to be related, but it worked better when the song and story went together, even if loosely.

If anybody knows the song Sweetness, by Jimmy Eat World, that was one of the songs I worked with. The pictures I came up with were just of a guy at a Karaoke bar, and him singing the song. A simple example.

In short, music comics are awesome, and the concept can be executed in many ways. Go for it, though.
