Zootopia Discussion

Post by Macsen »

Zootopia is coming.

Disney-produced. 55th in the Canon. Totally, unabashedly, 100% Furry.

And judging by the trailer, definitely not intended to be G-rated.

From what I've read, it's about a female rabbit trying to make a name for herself as a cop in a melting-pot city in a World of Fur, and working a mystery with an unlikely partner, a con-artist fox.

I can already see it now without knowing specific details. The fox and the rabbit will get together. That's pretty much a given. Most Disney movies have romance in them.

Makes sense to start a whole topic on this movie. =P

1) Animals from around the world in Zootopia. can't wait to see how many they can stuff on screen.
2) I'm half expecting a Mickey, Donald and Goofy joke in here.
3) I bet there will be a religion, and they are squirrel nuns that worship Dragons. :3

If they somehow make it so they get married, have kids and live happily ever after, I'll never hear the end of it from the Grapenut fans :3

Since it directed by Byron Howard (who co-directed Bolt and Tangled) and Rich Moore (who directed Wreck-It Ralph, a lot of Simpsons episodes, some Futurama episodes, and two Drawn Together episodes), I'm excited for this!

Looking cool. Hopefully it'll avoid the "Dreaded G-Rating" and go with PG.
Let's hope this movie will help people understand the furry fandom better.

Or what if they add Mickey, Donald, and Goofy? Maybe some other characters as background characters?

YUS. Wait, how is this not a G rated film? I don't see any mention of anything explicit. The teaser looks super cool, I mean there's even a slight sheen on the fox's fur, compared to the teaser image ages ago the quality here is bronzongers.

I'd assume the reason its not G is because the fox got a tranquilizer shot in his butt.

most Disney movies these days are PG, so they almost definitely won't be pulling punches to keep it G.

I was referring specifically to the part where the narrator makes Nick zip up his pants.

I'm more curious how PG they're going to make it. What kinds of risks they're gonna take.

To me, you're all talking like PG is a hair's breath away from rated R or something.

The worst thing they had in Frozen was a shoe size joke, and even then I'm pretty sure that it wasn't supposed to be taken that way.

I mean, how far can they possibly go without it going over PG?

They can go as far as they want so long as it isn't PG-13 material - which is now what was rated R just a couple decades ago...

Something tells me Disney wouldn't want to sully their reputation by doing that.

Funny story, I managed to find the movie's concept art back since January (not knowing it was a part of the movie) of the main character. I used it as my background on my phone because it looked cool. After figuring out that it was from the movie today, I will for sure see it. :D So much hype for this

I have a feeling there's gonna be a good deal of furry fandom exposure when this movie comes out. Maybe HP! will earn a lot of readers as people discover the furry fandom!

HP! gaining an increase in readers? That can either be really good. Or really bad. Let's go with good if it even happens. Fursuits aren't allowed in theaters are they?

i cannot hold in my excitement for 2016 now. I really want to go see this movie the first day it comes out

maybe i'll see one of you guys in the theater, or maybe some other friends. (totally doubt it)
maybe ill get a good price on tickets if i reserve them early. (doubt it)
I'll get well-priced snacks at the concessions stands. (nope)
I can go early so I have seating options and I wont get stuck sitting next to an annoying kid. (Happens...every...time)

I guess I'm the only furry who is not excited for this movie. The animation's nice and all, and the premise is as typical as a Pixar movie gets, but I don't really care for it much. I don't watch movies though, with the fear I have of sitting through a movie screening, so it's no matter.

I can't be certain. I (almost)only ever go to the theater with some friends, and even then it's usually the Marvel movies. But if they are interested in watching it, then I guess I'll see it there. Maybe not though.
