I liked it, it was a pretty fresh take on the "Red Riding Hood" story, with good amount of humor.

Its saving grace was Patrick Warburton (The Wolf). He has such a great voice-over...um...voice. He steals every scene in every cartoon/movie he's in. The animation was sub-par when compared to Dreamworks or Pixar, but it was somewhat entertaining.

Yeah, I loved hoodwinked because of Patrick Warburton. He also does the voice of Joe on family guy.

Spaceballs was pretty good but in that list I'm going to have to say my favorite is The Goonies. I could probably list 20 more of my favorites that came from the 80s if I took the time to think about it. But since I'm lazy, here's just one more.

The Princess Bride 1987

Anyone who hasn't watched that movie needs to rent it or buy it RIGHT NOW and watch it.

I agree with Dubs and Zeek about those movies, but those were some of the only gems of the 80's ( to me, anyway).
Especially Spaceballs. That was hilarious.

Mel Brooks is awesome. I'm a big fan of The Producers myself, though I've never seen the original. Only the Broadway version. The movie based on a musical based on a movie about a fake musical about Hitler.

I loved some of those 80s movies! Bill and Ted and The Breakfast Club are some of my favorites! Short Circuit is a good one, it's really cheap looking at some points but I still love it!

But here's how it really happened! XD Awesome movie! Anyway, recently just watched all the Saw movies up to this point. Haven't watched the 3D one yet tho. At first I thought those movies were just about gore and torture. And I'm not one for gruesomeness for the sake of gruesomeness. But if you get past the horribleness of that, the storyline is realy good! Each one leaves you hanging and wanting to see what happens next. There are tons of plot twists, and in a way it sorta makes you rethink your life a little. I also just watched Session 9, now that was one weird, psychological movie! I would recommend it, not too good, not bad either tho. Since I've been on a horror movie binge for the holiday. Also hiiighly recommend Paranormal Activity. I'm not scared by the Jason's or Freddy's but ghosts and psychological stuff scare me. Saw isn't really scary but its good. But Paranormal Activity is one of the few movies that terrified me. anything shot in that perspective is scary to me. When I was a kid I had nightmares for weeks from Blair Witch project. I was 13 then. Animal Planet of all places had a show called Lost Tapes. It was shot in a blair witch-esque perspective. It was supposedly the lost victims tapes of what happened. And each episode would be about a cryptozoological creatures creature. (IE unknown creatures, like big foot, dover demon, aliens, werewolfs, etc.) On the Animal Planet! Needless to say that show still scares me, in a good way lol. Any movie that can create a spooky atmosphere successfully is good in my book. Cause I've watched so many crap horror movies, it's rare any creeps me out or anything.

I am an extremely sentimental person.
Good films and tales always leave me wanting more.
This was certainly the case with the movie I watched tonight.
I watched The Fox and the Hound for the first time since my early youth.
The tale of friendship and boundaries warmed my heart to its core.
I know there is a midquel, but I doubt it would do the setting of the first one any justice.

Also this week, I watched the Balto trilogy.
I enjoyed them all very much, and I simply love the art style.

It seems I've watched a lot of animal themed movies lately.
Any more great movies like these and I'll likely lose sleep reminiscing about them.
Oh wait, I am right now.

Interestingly enough the Basterds of the title are not the main characters of the movie. In fact, they only really show up in brief snippets of scenes that are mostly occupied by other characters (mainly a revenge crazy Jewish woman and a hilarious SS officer) who take over the rest of the movie which is not necessarily a bad thing.

Iknowright? The only part I didn't like was at the very end, the background looked like a green screened image, annoying but the budget was tight, and it was great, so its excusable.

Skipping some of what I call my defaults like the LOTR trilogy and avoiding quoting Joey ("Miyazaki's are my fav"- DRAT), here are my stand outs, and a few overlooked ones.

WALL-E, 2008. The Little Robot That Could. I was hyped for Pixar's venture into non-fantasy robot sci-fi 18 months before release. It did not disappoint. I saw it 5 times in the theater. Sentences? In dialogue? Who needs them?
Millions, 2005. Directed by Danny Boyle (Slumdog Millionaire, 28 Days Later). An imaginative bright and colorful English movie full of surprises.
Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events, 2004. Jim Carrey being Jim Carrey actually works (and in make-up), but that isn't what the movie is about, really. Lovely production values, and Oscar favorite Meryl Streep just being kooky. Also my favorite music score.
Serenity, 2005. The Little Spaceship That Could.
Coraline, 2009. Have you noticed that I'm a pushover for lovely craftsmanship in movies?
Source Code, 2011. A nice repackaged collection of ideas certainly recognizable from other movies and TV shows, and I liked the Chicago setting. I passed the site of the train bombing (The Illinois Institute of Technology) all the time when I was there. On a train, no less.

The budget was $12 million dollars, to be exact. I'm not sure if that includes stuff like marketing though. To put this in perspective, the last live-action Transformers movie cost $200 million.

Just watched Get Him to the Greek again last night, I think it might be fair to call it my favorite movie (though it's kind of a toss-up between that and Clerks)

I really like Full Metal Jacket, American psycho, and Trainspotting.
Black comedies with bitter social commentary are kind of my thing when it comes to movies.
