I got some new parts on my car!
my unequal-length header is installed, and I have acquired a set of 16" "snowflake" wheels, a JDM grille, JDM sidemarkers (AKA fender mounted turn signals) and a scooped hood.
And I found my doppelganger.

I just got a new muffler installed on my car! got it for real cheap, and got it installed pretty cheap, too. mild tones under low throttle so as to not anger the neighbors, but noisy enough under full throttle to let other car guys know what's up.

1996 Infiniti Q45. My neighbor sold it to me for a good deal.

My previous car was a 2003 Chevrolet Impala.

Awww.. I miss my Civic now.
RIP
I now drive a Ford Taurus and I love it, but only half as much as my old Civic. The cosmetics are janky. A week after I bought it, I opened the glove compartment... and it just fell apart. :|

I drive multiple vehicles!

First of all, there's my Trans Am, which I've owned for almost 25 years, and it's now a 1 g skidpad track car, with fuel injection and 423 Dyno-measured rear-wheel horsepower on tap, along with a six-speed manual transmission. Every single piece of this car has been gone over by me, likely twice. In fact, it'll be coming apart this winter again, as I sort out a few worn-bits and re-string some parts of the wiring harness. It's also got another 150 HP worth of nitrous on-board, but I haven't actually used it!

Image

and then there's my motorcycle, a fuel injected 2000 Honda Interceptor VFR800FI. You can also see our 2012 Chevy Impala LTZ in the backgraound, which is equipped with a 300HP V6 motor.

Image

..and then there's my 2006 Chevy Avalanche 4x4, which is used for towing, pulling, trailering, and getting through snow & mud:
Image

...and sometimes I drive a snowmobile, which is a 1998 100HP Arctic cat ZL600:

Image

and when I want to get off-road in the woods, I drive my 1992 Yamaha WR500, a five-hundred-cc two-stroke supercross bike that is likely 300cc too much!!
I've actually got an unrestricted road title and a license plate on this one now and the insurance is cheap. However I can only get about 800 miles out of a set of tires.

...and that's about it for me in the rides department.

Haha! That looks like fun, Tycho! I've seen sled dogs, but I don't think I've ever seen a snowmobile dog before. :P

I currently drive my mom's 2004 Cadillac Seville or my dad's 2000 (?) Ford F-150. If I do get a car, I'm thinking I want a Honda CR-V or a Hyundai Sonata, or maybe a Ford Taurus (but it's more likely I'll inherit one of my parents' cars - provided they last that long).
Douglas isn't my real name, but because of a name block put on me by a higher-order being known as Djinni, I can't say my real name.

I drive a 1997 Ford Escort. Rust is eating through parts of the hood, not big parts or anything, had some seriously messed up steering parts, don't remember what they're called, if they failed though that could have been the end for both the car and me. I fixed up the A/C and internal lights, FWD 4 cylinder blah blah, gas gauge is broken, Mileage meter is broken, trip meter is broken, Speedo was off by 5-7 until I got the steering fixed, tore was loose and putting a new one on made it finally not wobble so much. Steering wheel is turned because of a bent pin or something. I have run it out of gas multiple times. But somehow it survives. Nothing amazing about it. With only me in the car though it moves real nice though. Got it on loan from a friend's parents. Real nice of them, fixed it up with most of the money from mom. Personally, really nice of them to loan me a car, not so nice of them for loaning me a car that had to have about $1450 put into it so that it would be safe to drive. All in all it has to last me a year and it'll probably do just that. It's an amazing little car.

Before that I had an I-6 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. Some nice stuff, RWD with a subwoofer bought it that way. Had it for less than a month before I made a turn and some guy "didn't see me", the White Jeep in his headlights and it rolled. Salvaged the sub and amps from it though. Couldn't get the radio out unfortunately.

Before that I had a 1996 Ford explorer, RWD V6, loved it, space and everything. Didn't have it for long because the torque converter failed and I forgot that my friends dad could fix it. Really angry about that one, at myself of course.

Had some opportunities to buy old GMC Sierras but turned them down because a RWD only truck in snow in Kansas sounds like a deathwish. Really regretting that decision though because cars have crappy space in them and I couodve helped my friends friend move more stuff faster if I had an SUV or a truck.

I drive a 2001 F-150. The truck is pretty much mine in all but the actual paperwork.

I'm debating actually buying the truck from my Dad when I get in the coast guard, or trying to finance a (mostly) new one right away.

I mean, the truck's been pretty reliable as a whole since we've got it (My dad got it brand new in 2001). The most substantial repair that it's ever needed was when the antifreeze all leaked out of the engine and it overheated. It cost like, $600 to fix that. And... that's pretty much all that's ever needed to be put into it besides routine things.

A brake line also went bad 6 or 7 years ago. But that was probably because my dad had a company vehicle at the time and the truck was left to pretty much sit on the dirt for... a year? Maybe more than that. Letting a vehicle sit on dirt or grass for long periods of time without driving it can do all kinds of bad things to it.

I do not currently own a vehicle, but I am in the process if saving up money to purchase my friend's black Suzuki 2011 GSX1250FA. He is asking me for $6,750 for it, which I found out that was cheaper than the average price after doing a little research. It has only 2,000 miles on it and fairly new tires. I don't have a picture of his bike, but I do have one of a 2011 GSX1250FA:

Oh the GSX1250FA is awesome, I'll bet! Mine's "pretty good", after I lowered the footpegs and raised the handlebars, but really, standards like that 1250FA will be the kind of machine that goes everywhere, everywhen, nomatterwhat and no matter how far or how long. It's on the short list of bikes I'd like to put in the garage, of which there are really only about ten, maybe twelve.

I could never get on a motorcycle, let alone drive one. I would be too terrified of some idiot cutting me off and me going flying under the wheels of an 18-wheeler.

Sounds like it is really reliable. Maybe we could ride together sometime

My grandfather died in a motorcycle wreck when a car that ran a red light pulled out in front of him and sent him flying. He didn't get crushed by a large truck, but he did break his neck when he landed on the asphalt.

Do you know what bravery is? Bravery is doing something despite being abjectly afraid. The practicing of bravery will shape us, and as we survive and THRIVE from the experience, we learn that we are capable of much more than we thought possible. Our confidence grows, and suddenly the world becomes a less scary place, with vistas and wonders and beauty that takes our breath away.

I've been riding motorcycles now for over 25 years, with no broken bones or crashes on the street. I've been cutoff in traffic only a handful of times in all those years. I've only had, in over 30 years of driving, two slow-speed on-road accidents: literally fender-benders that bought the other driver a ticket, and me a $500 repair bill. I've only ever had one speeding ticket, for doing 35 in a 25 zone. I very rarely even SEE bad drivers around me, mostly because, I think, I've learned to subconsciously anticipate most dangerous driving situations before they happen, and take steps to avoid them. These were skills that I learned through practice, not because I am particularly smart or talented. When I started, I had my share of oops, and car honks.

Amazee Daysee, do not be afraid to take risks. If you ever wanted to find out "what if?" or "what would it be like?", you will never find out unless you try. Just learn about as many pitfalls as you can, and trust in yourself that you will manage any surprises. Any surprises that you can't manage will generally be non-fatal, anyway. Embarrassing, maybe. Costly, probably. But failures are great teachers. Thomas Edison learned much through emperical science: He was a tinkerer who had a lab that experienced many failures. His would write up the failure, and try to extract as much knowledge as he could from it. We can do the same, be it with learning to ride a bike, fix a car, or even become confident enough to try street performance.

I've been dreaming of getting a bike, myself. I figure I could pick up a Sportster 883 for next to nothing, still in decent shape. That'll be a decent, not-overpowered bike to start learning on, but when I need to, there's a ton of Screamin' Eagle parts to modify it with. Problem is, I don't really like the traditional Harley riding position, so... I think I'd be looking into a Cafe-Racer kit.

Maybe not as well-done as this one, as I am gonna be doing this on a budget, but here's an idea:
