The strange and not so strange fear thread

...... Yup, pretty self-exclamatory. For me, let me first start with a question: Do you know those old Disney VHSs from the early 90s and how they had those little in-between bumpers saying "Coming soon to Theaters" and "Coming soon to Video Cassette"? Well, the bumpers always creeped me out for some reason(heck, even today I'm still creeped out by them... though nowhere near as much as back then). But what about you? Do YOU have a strange or not so strange fear?

EDIT: Also, thanks to Apollo 18 a few months ago, I am now extra paranoid around moon rocks XD

*giggles* That's kinda funny.

I'm mostly just afraid of failure. Not really the most interesting fear.

Well, this thread IS also for non-strange fears, so anything goes.

Slenderman.

I'm not "afraid" of blood or needles, but my anxiety goes through through the roof and I start seeing stars.

I'm afraid of playing old NES games in a dark room by myself. For some reason they send a chill down my spine.

Offices. Ever since I was a kid, I would be on the verge of a panic attack when I went into an office. I guess if you get sent to them enough, or you receive enough bad news in them.

I have arachnophobia to the point where it is crippling. On sight of the teeniest spider, I lose control of myself and shake about violently.
In direct connection, I am also afraid of places where spiders 'might' be. Considering spiders have a tendency to be everywhere, that becomes a problem.

I have claustrophobia. Crowded rooms, windowless rooms, I can't stand them.
I also can't stand shopping malls, airports, or hospitals.

This was my inner monologue as I watched the first few seconds of it:
"Oh God Sleet why did you do this to me why did you link me to Marble Hornets it was bad enough the first time around nonononono- oh wait."

I'm not really afraid of heights.

Give me a step ladder and I'll go do whatever you need me too. Including killing those pesky spiders.

There a couple of spiders that scare me. Don't get me wrong, I'll still kill one when my mom tells me to (she definitely has arachnophobia), but there just some spiders that send chills down my spine. I think the Daddy Long Legs scares me the most. I know people say they're harmless, but they're just creepy as heck.

I don't like spiders, but I just have a natural reaction to scream and throw something at it.

I had a Carolina Wolf Spider run across my floor at 2:30 AM back in August. That was terrifying; the sucker was as big as my hand. Needless to say, he's dead now and I haven't seen a spider like that since then.

Oh and this was on the front page yesterday:

Cops make me nervous.

Someone was trying convince me that rats make good pets and that I should not be afraid of them. I told that person that they had never had to sleep with a Pit Bull named Diamond in the bed with you to keep the little monsters from running across you in the middle of the night. Or, been forced to beat one to death with a shovel.

Now, the one thing I'm wondering is, by "Daddy Longlegs" do you mean Cellar Spider or Opiliones? (If just a picture of them scares you, don't click)
'cause they're both called Daddy Longlegs.
Anyway, I'm afraid of Cellar Spiders. Those things get big and I always find them inside.

I used to be afraid of people whom hid behind a mask, or anything else like that. This includes fursuits. I /think/ I'm still afraid of those suits IRL, but I've seen enough to not care online.

I have a fear of strings only in my dreams. Whenever i see a piece of string in my dream? It acts like a freaky connection to what might happen ~ my brain and the universe. cut it and it's lights out.

One of things that freaked me out about those things was when I was little, my sister and one of uncles were not afraid of the them. So they would pick them up by the legs and chase me with them. Each with a Daddy Long Leg squirming in their hands ceaselessly tormenting me.

My sister used to do the same thing. Except she didn't chase me around with it. She would just dangle it in my face.

How long has it been since you've seen one in person?

Here's a really stupid fear I have... asking.
Asking somebody for a favor or help with something has been a problem for me. Whenever something comes to the point where I have to do it, I panic and put it off.
I don't know why I have this problem, but I do.
The good thing is that it's gotten better over the years, but can still be a problem.
It's sort of like how I used to hate talking to people over the phone. Not a problem now, but I still don't like it though.

Did she sneak up on you to do it?

I was about 4 or 5 at the time too. I could not out run her either.

I don't have any everlasting fears or phobias, I just don't like things that jump out at you. So I guess, on the contrary, I have a fear of jump scares, but only in real life, movies don't bother me. Is there a name for this kinda fear?

Oh wait, I don't like the idea of being burned or cut with a knife. But aside from that, yeah just jump scares.

I have a lot of weird fears...
Bugs- A beehive fell on my head when I was three.
Dolls- I've read that they were used to store spirits in voodoo rituals. Plus there is Robert, America's most haunted doll.
Mannequins, Puppets, Wax Figures, and Statues- I can't help but feel like they will jump out at me.
Mirrors- Bloody Mary was really popular when I was little.
Tooth Fairy- Watching Darkness Falls when I was 9 was a bad idea. I would give my mom my teeth from then on and ask her to throw them out if she wanted.
