Today I had the finest Ham, egg and chips ever. The plate was larger than my head and I ate the whole thing clean in five minuets. I then drank a pint of cola whilst the rest of my family started eating. I love my metabolic rate!

I'm going to be cooking a Cheeseburger for dinner. It's not holding together so good though, likely because the meat has been frozen a while tho.

Sounds marvelous :D

Unfortunately, I'm low on food and need to go shopping so the last thing I had was some canned stew...didn't even have buttered beard with it either because I ran out of spread :(

It'll be jam on toast I'll most likely be eating when I wake up before I go food shopping.

If I start to talk about food, I wouldn't finish anymore... :P :D For now, I mention only the Focaccia, Barese type. ;)

Uhm... Probably I've never got to eat Carbonara, and if I did, it happened tons of time ago... The right spelling is prosciutto (ham), but for the real Carbonara is used Guanciale (similar to jowl bacon) or Pancetta (another kind of bacon). For lunch, I usually eat pasta dishes with tomato sauce (Mediterranean diet rules, but yes, I know the origin of tomatoes), sometimes pasta dishes with Pesto Alla Genovese, various kind of Risotto, soups and even Couscous.

I had the new Pizza Hut crust a few days ago and it's pretty great! It's a lot like Domino's, which may mean Sleet will give it a try. = P

wait, When you say new crust, is it an optional thing or is it your only choice?

because both my mom and Grandma had to stop getting Domino's cause all the garlic in their new crust upset their stomachs, I'd hate to have it happen with Pizza Hut too.

even when we asked for it without the garlic glaze thing, there was still enough baked in that it upset their stomachs.

I order online. There was an option for classic hand-tossed crust or the new variety.

Oh boy, a food topic! :3
So, for about five or so years now, every time I had to make lunch, I would always make peanut butter sandwiches for school. This gets boring really fast. So, I decided to just add some pizzazz to it. I didn't add any new ingredients, but I still came up with a way to improve it. A very simple thing, just toast the bread. The peanut butter gets all melty and it's nice and crunchy and delicious. ut make sure you get it out of the toaster fast, or else it's gonna get cold. I usually leave one slice in the still-warm toaster and put the peanut butter on it. Then it stays nice and warm!
TL;DR: Toast bread when making peanut butter sandwiches to shake things up a bit.
Anyways, I've got more than one simple trick up my sleeves! Now, I love grilled cheese, but it can definitely use some spicing up sometimes. So, my mom decided one day to add some Cayenne Pepper (or however its spelled.) to our grilled cheese. It added a fantastic twist to our grilled cheese, and we've done that ever since. You think I'm stopping here? Nope.
And now, here's a recipe for disaster/deliciousness, The Cheese Flap!

You will need:
One Tortilla
A handful of shredded cheese, your choice
Optional: Ham, Turkey, or Chicken :3
Put it in the microwave for 25-40 seconds, roll it up, and enjoy!

You would be correct! I should give it a shot. What do they call it?
RandomGeekNamedBrent wrote:even when we asked for it without the garlic glaze thing, there was still enough baked in that it upset their stomachs.
You sure they didn't just forget to make it without? When they don't screw up, there's not really any garlic in the crust. At all.

Today I learned that if you like garlic making good pasta is the easiest thing ever. The answer is always more garlic salt.

Nothing like pasta in garlic salt sauce.

By "garlic salt sauce" I mean "adding some water to a container of garlic salt."

For anyone that noticed I accidentally posted this in the Language Thread at first because I wasn't paying attention. X3

Swedish friends: I acquired a jar of lingonberry jam today and I was wondering what would go well with it? I've already tried crepes and I've heard it's pretty good on toast, but does it go well with any typical American dishes (i.e. on fruit, pastries, mealtime dishes, etc)?

I think as long as it's a jam made with berries, it'll go with any kind of sweet pastries (maybe not savoury ones, but who knows?). Don't take my word for it though =w=

Together with my roommate, we cooked our first dish: red snapper Indian curry. Got quite a scare because we forgot to lower the temperature of the infrared cooker from the max, so oil flying everywhere, but it turned out alright, just a little burnt ;p

Learning by doing. XD

If the oil ever starts burning.
DO NOT USE WATER! Don't panic, take it from the heat and cover it, let it cool down. Do not lift the lid till it is cold.

No worries, I know about Greece fires. We managed to cool down the oil and immediately threw in the onions. They burnt to a crisp, but at least they took the heat off enough to continue on cooking xP

XD That time of year for barbecue? My family cooks on the grill year-round. While not a weekly thing, unless there's too much snow to take the grill outside, we just do it whenever.

Same here! I love me some bread, but the ones like zdflion showed here are very scarce here. Bread is not popular here, unless it's the normal sliced white bread. And when you have rice and noodles as the staple food like most Asian countries, having bread is kinda redundant and it only serves as snacks or when you're bored of the other two.

Speaking of rice, I made some fried rice the other day. I dunno how to name the dish in English (translating food and ingredients names from Malay to English is the hardest aspect of English for me), but a lengthy description would be "fried rice with crispy dried anchovies, chives and Thai chili complemented with a chives-and-raw-Thai-chili omelette and fresh butterhead lettuce."

I dunno, here's a pic

kurowolfe, here that bread is really really really common :D There are lots of bakeries, and when I'm telling you a lot, it's a lot. And that rice is really tasty... Well, using my eyes :P I hope you liked it! ;)

Well, today, I'd like to present you another common dish I often eat in the morning:

Tamales!

They're just corn dough with something inside them: usually chicken & chilly (those are tamales verdes), or the ones you can see below, which have raisings (or pineapple chunks, those are tamales de dulce)

Tamales are usually wrapped with corn husks, and you can see them with the tamales in the second attachment.

They are really really tasty, and here we eat them (1 or 2) with fried eggs, like in the first attachment.

Hope you'll like them! :D
