Happy Guy Fawkes Day 2012!

Should ever be forgot."

Alright, so Guy Fawkes Day was not that well known in the US before "V for Vendetta", but it is an awesome holiday! I get to set fires and set off fireworks without people thinking I have behavioral problems!

It was rather mild this year. Usually we would have fireworks go off all throughout the night but we only got a short display this year. But the streets are nicely filled with smoke from the fires and fireworks. I am pretty sure most people do not even know why we have Bonfire Night, perhaps the festival requires a more... modern interpretation.

Added: And here is the full 5th of November Rhyme if anyone is interested.

Remember, remember!
The fifth of November,
The Gunpowder treason and plot;
I know of no reason
Why the Gunpowder treason
Should ever be forgot!
Guy Fawkes and his companions
Did the scheme contrive,
To blow the King and Parliament
All up alive.
Threescore barrels, laid below,
To prove old England's overthrow.
But, by God's providence, him they catch,
With a dark lantern, lighting a match!
A stick and a stake
For King James's sake!
If you won't give me one,
I'll take two,
The better for me,
And the worse for you.
A rope, a rope, to hang the Pope,
A penn'orth of cheese to choke him,
A pint of beer to wash it down,
And a jolly good fire to burn him.
Holloa, boys! holloa, boys! make the bells ring!
Holloa, boys! holloa boys! God save the King!
Hip, hip, hooor-r-r-ray!

Did many don the mask and so?

Wonder how many of them know they dress up as 16th century bin Laden...

The movie was just, I thought it missed the point of Eve by like, a few DOZEN miles, she was a lot weaker, the ending was not ambiguous, and really, the whole thing had pointless additions and subtractions.
