I got asked to bring Tycho Aussie to campus by our union organizers for the big rally in the middle of campus today.
I was going to do it at first, then my spidey sense said to not mix politics and fursuiting, so they are just going to have to demonstrate without the big dog.

Yeah that's probably a good call to avoid political stuff. It could leave a bad taste in the mouths of people who disagree with whatever issue, when your goal is to make people happy.

I'm going to be making a duct tape dummy with friends tonight. We'll see if anything comes of it. ;)

I also had a go at sewing my own - it looks pretty much the same (but without a slight error on the fur that the other one had, but also a little bit loose on the belt - oh well). So now I have two! :)

I was under the impression that kitsunes start with two tails and gain another one every 1000 years...

But is it even called kitsune for dogs? Kitsunes are foxes usually.

Well I did not know that. And I can't be sure but foxes and dogs are both canines correct?

On another note, up until 2 years ago, I thought foxes were felines.

I was under the impression that kitsune started with one tail, actually. *shrugs*

Also, I thought hyenas were dogs for way too long.

Took and age and a half and several million issues with UPS (who I shall go to any lengths possible to avoid using in the future now) but Dorumon has finally arrived! Unfortunatly the camera we used took the pics in OTT HD quality...to which this website responds with panic and general disallowing. So I'll have to figure out how to shrink these down to post them. I uploaded the unboxing video of it on youtube and...was literally inches away from suffering severe heart trauma from the nervousness while doing so! Oooooooooh so scary! Couldn't think words through, they just tumbled out and...DARNIT I am literally THAT British?!

I knew these things were hot and all...but NO warning prepares you for that noticable increase in temperature when you pull it on. Not to mention I was trying to type to the maker whilst wearing it. Multiple extra keys were pressed, the keyboard was dropped three times...we had a great laugh.

I found that sticking the image in paint and then cropping out the background following by shrinking the picture by dragging a corner in worked for the one picture I posted. Might help you too, providing the image doesn't get too small.

Also, no, you are not that British just because of that sentence. Trust me on this one.

If it is about shrinking pictures, pretty much every image editor can do that for you, For example Irfan View. For converting videos you might want to have a look at Format Factory.

Also, (This is a good tip for anyone who has problems sharing things due to file size) you can upload the picture to a image hosting site like Photobucket and link it from there with no need for editing it.

It's pretty easy to figure out, but if anyone would like to ask for more specifics, feel free to PM me.

Ha! Have to love the colours! There is just something so squee about purple! But I can guarantee it definitely isn't milka! It's 100% a Digimon!

Wish I had an easily available camera, would love to take full wearing pics of him!
One thing that stumps me, but want to do, is to be able to more easily go out to events with him. But around England most big events, part time hiring possibilities and even charity events that may want to see him are all based faaaaar up north. So I want to get him more well known, and be able to use him, but oppurtunites are too rare. Even travel to most events is too far. We can be talking half the country away at least.
So I don't know how to get him more well known around here. London mcm is all well and fine but it's too infrequent. Lots of people can use their fursuits to be hired for small fun events or do charity work in. But I have no idea how to become well known enough or find out events that would want such a thing.
Because comicons around my local (ish) area are just toooooo infrequent for proper squeeing!

I was wondering how to get permission from a charity for a furry group to do fursuiting.

Because i notice many charities were i live and was wondering about how to approach the charity and tell them about a furry group that does fursuiting mostly for charities.

It starts with an email, a phone call, and a face-to-face meeting. You first establish some basic ground rules for your fursuiters, figure out what your needs are in terms of changing places, water, and cooling. You then find out from the charity organizer how you can fit into their event. Once you become part of THEIR team, you work with them to enhance their event. If you have some written information handy to present to the charity director, all the better: That way they are equipped to handle questions from other people about who you are and why you are there.

I have a trifold pamphlet that I give to the event coordinators which explains most everything and it helps a lot by presenting a professional appearance:

A couple of internet friends of mine are in town for the week, so on Friday we're going out fursuiting together. Alisha and her husband Mark are also amateur radio friends of mine. Lonewolf here also does charity work through her church in New York state. We'll be entertaining at the park on Friday, and then on Saturday, I will be mascotting at our amateur radio swap meet.
