This is slowly becoming a "watch what tycho does with their suit" fest.

I'm thoroughly enjoying it.

I might have a chance sometime next year to at least try a fursuit on. My mother is trying a crafting hobby buisness. She told me that she knew about fursuits and thought of making some thanks to her sister.
kind of cool/interesting thing I guess.

Fursuits are kind of hot and hard to see out of, but when you see yourself move in a mirror and the character does whatever you do, it's spooky and cool at the same time. If you do get a chance to try one on be sure to find a mirror and look at "yourself". It'll be a strange experience to look and not see yourself, but someone else staring back at you.

p.s. If I restricted my photobombing of this thread to a photo every couple of months, would that be too much?

That sounds like a pretty interesting experience. If I ever find myself in the company of a friend with a suit, I might just see what it feels like. Somehow that makes it seem a bit more fun in my mind now, like I wouldn't be as nervous.

Yeah, we love seeing your pictures, Tycho! I'd spam this thread too if I had a fursuit.

While I'm here, I'll drop a link to this since it's kind of about being furry and kind of about fursuiting.

I'm surprised nobody's made a Peanut suit.
Douglas isn't my real name, but because of a name block put on me by a higher-order being known as Djinni, I can't say my real name.

:rotfl: ! ! Oh what a twist. I've had people say FURSUITS are creepy, but a leggy legume it pretty out there... Remember, Mr. Peanut got his start in underground comics: That's how all peanuts get their start. (with exception to OUR peanut! ;) )

In other news, there are some other amazing fursuits out there. Gypsy Vanner unicorn comes to mind as my all-time favorite quadsuit. I had a chance to buy this one a few months ago and if I didn't have a family to answer for and a son to put through college, I would've bought it to be my second fursuit.

Here's your Tycho Image of the week:
We did a little 'surprise' birthday party for Fran, and invited the entire store to join in singing her "happy Birthday"! It worked out great, though I haven't heard yet what happened when Fran finally caught up with her sisters... They asked me to do it 'cause Fran didn't want to celebrate her 60th. We thought she deserved something special so we made a festival out of it, including a little cake.

Oh, I think that being brave enough to fursuit in public is the best way to enjoy its rewards. It's not without hazards, but it's likely you'll get more positive experiences than negative! I sure do. Now that I am mostly through my third season, I am meeting many people who already know Tycho, or have heard of Tycho Aussie. The children have spread the word, and when I show up on Friday nights, they all come running.

Picture of the week: Dancing with the public. It's a good thing I've had some dance lessons! It comes in handy sometimes. What I am trying to show here, is that fursuiting need not be an activity that's restricted to cons. It can be successfully shared with the greater public. I've fursuited in Chicago, San Francisco, on the campus of Michigan State University, at the zoos, in communities all around where I live, in my own church, in bowling alleys, and in parades. When presented with care, and with a bit of preparation, it can be a really, really rewarding experience.

Do fursuiting in different places other than conventions entertaining the public: you're doing it right! No, not really, you're doing it great! ;) Great job, Tycho. :D

Tycho has an amazing suit. Kinda inspiring what he does with it. It makes the whole concept of furry able to stand in a good, pure light.

I build and sell them every now and then as a hobby. (Don't be amazed I probably make less than half of minimum wage with the time I spend on one, I'm doing it for fun.) Now I'm almost done with a full body Anubis costume. Perhaps I'll keep it for Halloween. I Have been thinking of making one of Stan the husky or Dart the werewolf though. It would be fun to have one I intend to keep.
I like shorts. Shorts are comfy. Do you like shorts?

I just got back from fursuiting in western Asia, in the caucuses, specifically in Armenia, along with scientists from all over Russia and countries that were part of the former soviet union. Since I was there presenting as a fellow scientist, I brought my fursuit along and took part in the evening festivities, such as the football match and then the next day, at the dance.

If Air France hadn't lost my luggage for five days, and if I hadn't been struck down with food poisoning for three days, I would've probably also taken Tycho into the city center for the night, and tried my hand at fursuiting in the streets of Yerevan. So I was content just being me, and interacting with people that come together from across all of the seismic networks of Russia, Armenia, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Georgia, and more.

One Russian put it this way on the last night at the dance, the night before we left for our own countries:
"Your suit is amazing!, no, more! There is a Russian word for this, but I dont know how to say it in English. However it is so, so, cool!"

But everything is fine now and you are also healthy again which is even more important. :D

Oh I wish. I really do wish I had that sort of skill. I was aiming to make one for May but I had no clue what to do so it ended up not being done. I was able to get a commission for this instead. Timing means it might not be ready for when I need it, but they are really nice so they are doing everything they can for me. But nonono I wouldn't even know where to start. So as much as I would like to say yes, no the glory lies with my commissioner.
It's getting there. I'm updated every now and then with pics on its progress so I have a few, mostly the feet, some of the hands and a couple of the head. All non-furred yet. That part comes a bit later! I even got a sketch made for me of what it will look like completed and I love it!
