NaNoWriMo!
It starts tomorrow. Anyone else going to be participating?
For those of you who have no idea what I'm talking about, NaNoWriMo stands for National Novel Writing Month. Simply put, it's a challenge to write a 50,000 word story in thirty days. The official website can be found here.
If any of you are planning on giving it a shot, I'd love to here about it. ^_^

Re: NaNoWriMo!
I'm going for it - first year I've tried, and likely to end in disaster. But oh well, it should be fun. Any idea what sort of story you're doing?
Re: NaNoWriMo!
I'll give it a shot
Not wuite sure what ill write, I'll just sit down and start writing, see what comes out.

I'm in this year because i really need to find out how talented i am at writing books.
I hope to hit the 50K mark and hope that my distractions and responsibilities in life don't cause too much trouble.

I'm giving it a shot. gonna write about the origins of my persona and the wizard that gave him the powers. I'll have to add a love interest.
Re: NaNoWriMo!
Hey, you never know. I managed to finish my first time. And yes, it is indeed fun. I'm planning on a sci-fi story, involving artificial intelligence and genetic engineering. One of the characters is a schizophrenic shape-shifter. It should be... interesting =PFowlJ wrote:I'm going for it - first year I've tried, and likely to end in disaster. Shape-shifters can be anything they want. Gender is no issue. I could be a Sleet if I wanted to.

A book about Wrestling is always good. That is, if you are gene savvy!

Re: NaNoWriMo!
Some people use NaNoWriMo to add another 50,000 words to something they've already started writing. They 'rules' don't technically allow that, but hey, it's all on the honor system anyway.

And FowlJ and Pea, don't feel like you don't have a club, 'cause we're like three peas from a pod, walkin' to NaNoWriMo for our first time, having a friendly competition amongst friends!

Try something from there? There's an awful lot of garbage, but a lot of the generators give you some good ideas. (Or CAN, anyway.)

Anyway, one hour in, 1186 words down. That's pretty good, I'd say. Now to give it an actual, you know, plot.

But, hey, it sounds like fun.

I know what my story is going to be about!
PARADOX!
Now to actually start writing, after going over the rules, entering the competition, and developing a main character.
Main character development done. (Don't ask how I did that, I just put him together.)

Re: NaNoWriMo!
Hmm... What kind of novel would you classify where Wrestling is the main subject, but Romance is the primary focus?
I went ahead and called it a Romance novel, but if Wrestling is involved, i'm guessing it's a different genre altogether.
Also: 3255 Words! But it's my day off, but i hope to keep this trend up.

Re: NaNoWriMo!
I'm not sure if I'll reach the goal, but at the very least I'll come out of this with a short story.
which is pretty good while still writing Essays for English, Speeches for Public Speaking, programs for Computer Science, and also doing math homework...
was I insane to think I could actually do this?
