Okey Dokey Lokey! (as Pinkie Pie says)

I have successfully taken new and updated pictures of my car today! It only took me a couple months, but hey... I wanted to take pictures of my car by the water, even though you cant really see the water in this picture...

Image

This picture is actually the bay, not the Atlantic Ocean. This picture was taken in a place that if you literally turn around, the actual ocean is right there. Its just blocked by stuff like houses and dunes. I cant get my car on that beach, or id get in some serious trouble, so the bay is good enough! haha!

What is funny is that the only difference in the older pictures to now is the fog lights, otherwise, my car looks exactly the same!

The car I really want to get and fix up is a 1969 Chevy Camaro SS. I already have plans to stick a 572 in it and update the interior. As for what I get drive, I have access to my dad's 1981 Corvette, my mom's 1992 BMW 525i, and the 1989 Chevy Silverado 2500.

Now see this is where being a gearhead is painful see someone like me has many options but it may sound stupid but allow me to explain myself

Now it is a 2012 v6 mustang but with my thinking: suspention, tires and under pinnings from the new gt500 and the motor out of the boss 302 but keep the same look=the ultimate sleeper car, think about it!

Oh and if you like the comic and cars you might like this.> Check out the story I’m working on and give feedback.

I’ve had a big interest in Crown Victorias for a while. If it wasn’t for them being such fuel-guzzlers and the fact I live in a state with crazy gas prices, I’d be aiming for one as my first car.

Also, those newer Dodge Chargers would top the list on my interests in cars. They just look awesome, and personally I think even more so with police cruiser driver bars 8-)

The Car Thread

by Jesse James
Don't think there's a thread like this here, so I thought I'd start one.

Basically you talk about cars in general, maybe post some pictures of your own car, or even someone elses!

Want to confess that you'd love to own a MX-5? Wanna talk about STI wheels, extractor back exhausts and tinting? Then this is the thread for you!

/salespitch

I guess I'll start off by posting this image of my car that I hastily ran out into the rain to take photos of when I thought of this thread.

It's a 1991 Holden Nova (Toyota Corolla rebadge) which isn't anything special, but it gets me from A to B.

I have another car which looks nicer (Toyota Corona) but it's not as reliable as the Nova.

Your turn!

My car is a Red Volvo and was less than $1,000 to buy and repair. It moves forward when I want it to so that is all I care bout.
That being said, I dislike cars in the long run, I just wish I could bike everywhere I wanted to go......would be safer for the wild life that way.......

Safer for wildlife because of the toxic gasses...
That's changing here soon, Europe is getting big on
hydrogene and hydroelectric cars.
Now we just need an advanced warning computer
system on affordable cars.

Actually that toxic gas thing was not what I meant, but awrighty. I think electric cars would be a better idea anyways.

If your talking about car crashes with animals, that is what
I meant with the warning system.
Its about time they start making some!

Well I can't say I expected the thread to go in this direction. lol

I would honestly be far more worried about the people that hit the animals than the animals themselves.

Hitting wildlife really isn't a problem in cities (where like, 75% of the population of the world lives), and even elsewhere in more rural territories hitting wildlife seems to be quite rare.

I did a quick Google search, but unfortunately it only came up with insane crazy activist groups on Facebook so I'm just speaking from personal experience.

'05 Honda Civic. Manual transmission. 120,000 miles on it, still runs great. Also gets between 35 and 40 mpg. I love my car. ^_^

Dad yells from the other room: "OUR car." :/

Fine, fine. It's not technically "mine" ... I'm just the only one who drives it. =P

... My car. ^_^

I currently own a 99 Subaru Outback w/ automatic transmission. It has performance slotted/drilled rotors with ceramic pads, a high flow air filter, and performance muffler.
Engine: EJ25D BOXER 4 dual overhead cam, direct injection, naturally aspirated. Total output: 165+hp, 160+lb/ft torque
Drivetrain: Automatic Trans. w/ AWD; fully-independent suspension
Mileage: 230,000+

Anyways, I drive a blue, 1998 Nissan Sentra GXE. It's clean, tiny but yet spacious, gets amazing gas mileage (38 mpg on a highway, 32 mpg in the city) and it runs excellent. I <3 my car.
That car is so cute! Love the colour, mate!

Corvette's are awesome, though they're kinda in the same spot as Jeep's in that they're not that reliable. lol

Don't worry, it's your car. ;)

That's quite fuel efficient though, and I've always had a soft spot for Honda's since my first car was a Honda Legend.

Dude, that sounds sweet! Judging from the mileage, that car has recieved a lot of love. Did you get the extras added to the car yourself?

Also guys, don't forget to post pictures if you want/can. I'm sure everyone here wants to see your ride. <3

Thanks for the compliment! I love to hear from a Subaru fan!

I had my mechanic install the exhaust, and brakes, but I put the air filter in myself.
Unfortunately the car has a new-er engine in it. The orig. went at around 200,000 miles. My dad bought it used, and I don't think it was well taken care of before we got it. (it was used on a farm, so Lord knows what it went through) I run synthetic oil w/ the best filters, iridium plugs, good gas, etc. I try to take real good care of it.
The transmission and body have every bit of the 230000+ miles on it.

Here's a pic.

I actually need to take more pictures of my car. I took the door guards off of it, and added some black graphics to the bottom of the doors. I'll post some updated ones soon.

Well, my dad and I can hear one of the wheel barrings going out in my car.

Also, humorous story for all of you: Last weekend, my car failed to start while going out for lunch. What we originally thought was a broken timer belt turned out to be a flooded engine. And of course, with our luck, the gas wouldn't drain out when we shut the car off and held the gas pedal down. So we had to take off the engine cover and manually rev the engine to get the gas out. Thank God it wasn't the timer belt; my car would have been stuck in my driveway for at least a month or two. o_O

Not calling the car a piece of crap or anything. I'm saying that it's an older model car, but you can still see the similarity between this car and my car if you compared the two. Like the similarities between an older person of the family and the current generation. :P

They do look a little similar now that I give both pictures a closer look. Though that's probably not a huge surprise, considering that they're both Nissans.
