No he got shot by his Psyciatrist(sooo spelled this wrong) while trying to kidnap a babysitter. He got shot at his house.

For those tired of those Hollywood slasher cliches, I highly suggest the Scream series, by Wes Craven. They're both intelligent deconstructions of the genre and its tropes, as well as scary movies in their own right.

No degeneration is based off the video game, unlike the others. The main characters are Claire redfield, and Leon S. Kennedy.

For a similar idea but with zombies check out Return of the living dead
One of my favorite zombie movies that also pokes fun at several zombie movie cliches.

Indeed. Although, the funny thing is that the movie also invented the zombie genre's most famous cliche, the eating brains thing.

Actually the doctor shot him 6 times, than he fell off of a second story balcony.NOW the better question is this, in H2 the doctor blows up a room killing him and Meyers in a fireball, and we see Meyers die. Yet in H4 he is BACK and so is the doctor. Can you say plat hole? Related note, I like Halloween 3, its a good movie, go watch it.

Actually, I think he was talking about the Halloween remake. And as for Michael and Loomis surviving the fireball, well, Myers at least is supposed to be something other than human. A force of nature, a faceless being of pure evil that just doesn't stop.

Which of course is why giving him a sympathetic backstory in the remakes totally ruined his character.

Probably Final Destination 2.

The first road scene scarred me for life though, so I avoid driving behind large trucks on the highway though. lol

I never saw the remake, and I wish they had continued the idea to make the Halloween movies instead of being about Michel Meyers make it stories about Halloween. I can sort of see Meyers surviving and like they said in H4 being in a coma for 10 years, I can sort of let that slide. But Loomis living makes NO FREAKING SENSE. And I hate the mask in Halloween 4.

The problem is that Michael Myers should not have a sympathetic backstory. Not even vaguely sympathetic. That's Jason Voorhees' schtick. See, each of the three big Slasher figures fills a specific niche: Michael Myers is the faceless, primal force of nature, pure evil, Jason is the tortured soul that blindly strikes back at anything and everything in furious rage over his death and the killing of his mother, and Freddy Krueger is the sadistic monster that kills and tortures just for the fun of it. These monsters have roles, people! There are rules! EVERYBODY'S A SUSPECT!

...sorry, I momentarily turned into Randy from Scream.

That's a fair point, I can see how that took away from the movie.
Maybe I just liked the violence getting turned up a notch over the original.
(or I may just be too much of a rob zombie fan to admit he messed up)

he was when he was alive at least. now he's a sadistic monster that kills and tortures to get back at the people who burned him alive because he was a sadistic monster who killed and tortured just for the fun of it but was acquitted on a technicality by killing and torturing their kids.

Fair point, but actually he managed to kill all the original kids by the third movie, so from then on he was only killing and torturing for the fun of it. :3

hey. when you're done with revenge, you go back to doing what you love. (I actually haven't seen all of those movies. I just know Freddy's awesome. and that Robert Englund Freddy looks much more awesome than Jakie Earle Haley Freddy.)

In New Nightmare England played 3 roles, himself, Himself playing Freddie, and the real Freddie Keruger. Its slightly confusing.

considering it's something like Scream where acceptable breaks from reality was what the new nightmare was about, it makes sense when you think about it.

Freddy was evil incarnate. The movies needed a ending where Alice, who was the main character for most of the series, had to kill Freddy. The story tried to make it so that the real cast was affected by the movie series which was considered in it's own way a way to seal Freddy.

Breaking reality is what Wes Craven does best, and that's why i like his series. Scream and Elm Street are great examples of his work.

I understood the story but a couple times I actually got confused over weather Freddie was being played by England or if it was the real Freddie. I did see it a long while ago, so most likely I wouldn't get lost. But still, New Nightmare is by second favorite of the Nightmare on Elm Street movies, behind the original.

I actually kind of like the Scary Movie franchise but that is only because it is more of a parody than a horror film but it still has some scary moments. I just like it to be balanced out with some comedy and not have as much gore or for the gore to be over the top its so hilarious.
