It also gives you a thing to do. In creative you can build huge things, yeah, but what do you do with them? It also makes "home" a lot cooler when you know your creation makes you safe from monsters.

There needs to be a hardcore mode where you need to make actual fortifications for defending against the constant onslaught of monsters.

There is a hardcore mode now,and has been there quite a while on the PC Version. it's called: Hardcore.

It's stuck on the hardest difficulty, and you only live once. The world is deleted when you die too..

I've only tried it once or twice.. Got killed the first night every time.. D:


Plus I've actually tried to make a huge fort several times. My latest one was awesome, Not even spiders can get in!

That's a step in the right direction, but I still don't like the fact that walls are still impenetrable and building tactical structures is of little actual use in that mode.
