Sergal actually means 'jackal' in the Sanskrit language, so the furry-exclusive sergal species is kinda misleading in its name.
Serigala is a derivative of this word, and it means 'wolf' in Malay and Bahasa Indonesia. Which is, again, kinda misleading.
Ancient Chinese people initially never saw lions alive, only their pelts brought along by fur traders. They looked so strange and majestic to them, that they were given mythical status, evolving into the guardian dog statues seen guarding the entrances of Buddhist temples.

The Japanese title of the final boss theme in Splatoon sung by the Squid Sisters is Shiokara Bushi. Shiokara is a Japanese pub food, made up of seafood (generally cuttlefish) cut up and mixed with the internal organs of said animal that is then fermented with salt and malted rice. It's a very acquired taste. In English, it would be "salted fermented squid and entrails".
However, if you take the Kanji of Shiokara, it could literally means "salty, briny". Bushi here most probably means "melody".
So I guess the full meaning of Shiokara Bushi would be "Salty Squid Melody".

The delegates who attended the Constitutional Convention spent much of their time getting drunk. One surviving document is a bill for a party on September 15th, 1787, two days before the signing of the Constitution. Items on the bill were: 54 bottles of Madeira, 60 bottles of Claret, 8 bottles of whiskey, 8 bottles of cider, 12 bottles of beer, and 7 bowls of alcoholic punch. All of this for only 55 people.

Given the maximum width of the Tasman Sea is 2200km and the maximum jump for an average kangaroo is 8m horizontally, it would take the average kangaroo going at full speed 275000 hops to cross the sea at its widest point. This would take them approximately 39.3 hours at maximum speed of 56km/h.
That is, of course, assuming they can hop on water.

Two-digit Interstate numbers are designed to let drivers know the general direction of the highway. If the Interstate has an odd number, it runs north-south. Interstates with even numbers run east-west.

Idaho and India are said to be the only two places where you can find the "Star Garnet" (a type of garnet) in large quantities.
Also Idaho is known for being the "Gem State".
Idaho also is the location of Shoshone Falls, a waterfall that is apparently has a height of 212 feet/ 65 meters, where Niagara falls is 167ft/51m high. You can drive to Shoshone Falls from the states capital in three hours (give or take)
(also years ago at the state fair, there used to be an ice cream that was made to look like a baked potato, it however seems to not be made anymore. that and people claim one of the people who contributed to the invention of the television was born and lived in Idaho. Though some people think this is just poor education being taught and its not true..)

If you followed the Australia highway 1 in the late 2000's, you would travel through every Australian state and ieach capital city of those states but the ACT and could detour via a ferry to drive on it in Tasmania as well. You would be relatively close to the coastline almost 100% percent of the way. It falls a relatively small distance (based on its total distance) short from connecting up to itself, starting at Darwin in the Northern Territory and ending in the Far North of Queensland, about 250km roughly from the Northern Territory border. You'd likely of traveled in a excess of 10000km to complete such a journey.
I also once worked out in boredom that it would take me about three weeks to walk at a leisurely pace from my hometown to Sydney along highway 1 if I walked 12 hours a day.

Petrichor is the scent that's created by the rain after a longer period of dry weather.
And they hug trees to cool down. The trees are about 7C cooler than the air and the koalas use that difference to get rid of extra heat without wasting too much water by panting.Amazee Dayzee wrote:Koalas do not drink. They get all the moisture they need from the leaves that they ingest.
