THIS one I know I haven't posted.

Alfred Hitchcock was notoriously hard on actors. He was once quoted as saying, “Actors are cattle”—a quip that stirred up a huge outcry. In response, he issued this correction: “I have been misquoted. What I really said is, ‘Actors should be treated as cattle.’”

The Earth's North and South Poles flip polarity on a semi-frequent basis, having done so more then 20 times in the past 5 million years. That means that with the next flip, all compasses will be pointing South rather then North.

Technically they'd still be pointing to magnetic North. It's just that magnetic North would be near the geographic south pole. Wrap you head around that.

On January 15, 1919, a large molasses storage tank burst in Boston, Massachusetts, sending a wave of molasses through the streets at an estimated 35mph, killing 21 and injury 150. For decades after the incident, people claimed that on hot summer days the area still smelled of molasses.

If it's open for everybody, it's called public viewing. -- There's also Public Viewing in Germany, but that means that lots of people watch sports events like big soccer matches or Formula One on huge screens.

Knowing what public viewing really means makes these events sound a bit odd.
