feel free. I think I've seen at least two Twilight Zone episodes that ended similarly. if they can reuse plot lines, you can definitely feel free to borrow it. also, I enjoyed it.

Tonight I'm going to work on making those trope links two-way, so people find the Argo page when they wiki walk, then get intrigued, and buy it. TV Tropes advertising! The unimpressedest face!

Re: My new short story Argo, now on sale!
Finally got a chance to finish the story, and I know you have heard it a million times, but I gotta say, you really outdid yourself Rick. I really, really enjoyed this book. All I can say about how much I actually enjoyed it, is that I haven't been that glued to a book since I read The Great Gatsby, my favorite book ever.

With any luck the TV Tropes page will bring more readers, but I would also like to request for help in fleshing it out or finding pages that can link to it!

Re: My new short story Argo, now on sale!
Rick: it should probably be "What senses do is create...", not "what senses do are create...", because while "senses" is plural, "what senses do" is singular. Also should probably be "enormous numbers" rather than "enormous amounts" because "pathways" are enumerable.

Re: My new short story Argo, now on sale!
The first one--yes, thank you, those are always the hardest to pick out even when reading out loud. The second one, though, is debatable. Amount/number and mass nouns don't always correlate to if something can actually be counted (you say amounts of money, not numbers of money), and in this case I prefer it to sound like a mass noun.

Linguistics are not Mira's forte. And she made Lily. So...
I noticed that too, but I figured that was just the reason.
While we're nitpicking, aluminum doesn't form a ferrite or pearlite phase like iron does, so it can't alloy with carbon in the same way to make a steel, which "alumi-steel" is most likely supposed to be. I could be interpreting the term wrong, though.

Re: My new short story Argo, now on sale!
Since when have things ever been called by what they precisely are? I never claimed it was an aluminum-iron/carbon alloy, just that it's called alumi-steel.

Re: My new short story Argo, now on sale!
That makes me curious to know what it actually is, though I'm pretty sure you don't have an answer for me. I also considered the possibility that it's just a name chosen to be marketable, but in that case it would be capitalized.
Unless it's been genericized, I guess! Kinda like aspirin.

Re: My new short story Argo, now on sale!
Coins are enumerable. Banknotes are enumerable. Money isn't. You don't have "one money". You can have fractions a cent on an account or on credit (eg, 1/8th cent stocks, gas at 3.569, fractional exchange rates, etc).
But I'm with you on "alumi-steel". Brand names and jargon don't have to make sense. You don't make Girl Scout cookies out of Girl Scouts. Well, I hope you don't.

Also see Star Trek's "transparent aluminum".

That doesn't stop me from applying a mass-noun quantifier to something I want to suggest is innumerable in the same sense as other mass nouns are. Language is mine to command!

Re: My new short story Argo, now on sale!
Has anyone else looked at the "Customers with Similar Searches Purchased" section when buying the "Argo" e-book from Amazon.com? The first item recommend item was what appeared to be a carrying case with an Argo logo on it. Sure, the logo name is very common but the carrying case is not. It is, in fact, a pet carrier case for air travel. Useless trivia aside, I enjoyed reading the short story "Argo". It was never boring for me. Good Job, Rick

Argo? Sounds pretty chill! ... my post count is low, as was pointed out to me by Rockstar Raccoon. Heh. But, no Argo sounds awesome! I'll have to download it sometime.

Argo is really good, with some serious philosophical ideas contained within these pages. Thoughts about existence like these have driven men well and truly mad. The story is thoroughly enjoyable every step of the way. $1.29 feels like a steal.
