 Re: Are You A Furry?
Agreed. Liking this comic doesn't necessarily make one a furry. There are plenty of non-furs on this forum, and that's not counting the people who stick to commenting on the strips themselves or don't comment at all. I really hope this doesn't mean what I think it means. Because it sounds an awful lot like you're trying to negatively stereotype furries. ... Again.

 Re: Are You A Furry?
A proclaimed furry needn't participate in every activity furries are associated with. They may choose to participate solely on the activities they find interest in.
Also, please do not feel like you have to respond to all my posts.

LOOK GUYS A PASSIVE AGRESSIVE FIGHT
Furry is a pretty broad definition you could fit almost anyone under it, it really just comes down to if you're comfortable identifying yourself as one.

 Re: Are You A Furry?
The poll question is "Do you consider yourself a furry?" specifically for that reason. Also, this is something that's been pointed out before, but bears repeating- bringing up something by saying "I'm not going to talk about this" multiple times is the exact opposite of not talking about it. If you really don't want to talk about something in the fandom, talk about something else. Buy a Fox tee and some white trackpants nobody will know the difference

Ahh yes, that line of thought. Well I myself don't know how it started, but if you will look at the situation, it's basically just like ANY misconception about a certain community. So let's trace it back to its theoretical roots. 1) A (or a group of ) furry person(s) does something bizarre. 2) Said individual(s) shared the ( results of ) action with their friends. 3) One from said friends spreads the word ( from amazement, disgust or whatever feeling one may have to induce an urge to spread ) 4) Action, being weird or unique in nature, catches the eye of some. 5) Further spreading. 6) Eventually rumor reaches a "sensitive" individual. 7) "Sensitive" individual shares with other "sensitive" friends. 8) Society moves with respect to how "sensitive" group reacts to the action. And basically that's how it goes. People over-react to one case and quickly generalize it to the population because it's very "memorable". and so I go to spoilers as well, Just as with the 9/11 case, there were a lot of opposition towards the other ethnicity despite them not all of them being the same.. That's "basically" it. (( Other's may add in more detail if possible, I'm in a bit of a rush at the time of this posting. ))

From what i understand, those things are quite expensive as well. Can't really see someone paying lots of money for something like that then ruining it.(betting they're near impossible to wash so need to be careful)

Alright, let's get off that topic before it goes too far. XP
Yes, what you said is right. A good but unremarkable fursuit will run between 1000 and 1500 US dollars, and they're very difficult to clean. So fursuiters tend to be protective of them.

 Re: Are You A Furry?
I was talking about paying outside right after the rain, what were you guys talking about? Best to not ask maybe. I've never known anyone in person who dressed up (that i know of anyways) but with such a cost and difficulty in care i can see why. I do have a friend who likes to draw furry art and have seen him in the creative drawing process hence my appreciation for the style.

No, its ok, i think that would summarize a quite well scenario. and theres nothing else we can do. is the way people think (some of them) and it will always be. so, better not to get involved. yeah, about that... it may be my fault ..... i think

The more furries out there who are normal, pleasant people, the harder it is to stereotype us as anything else.

 Re: Are You A Furry?
I've found that in any group there are "normal" ones and there are the few stereotypes that catch most of the attention and unfortunately tend to define a group in the eyes of the public. Knowing that, I try to keep an open mind and judge only in individual character than on group perception. There are good sides as well as bad no matter what group or way of thinking furry or otherwise.

 Re: Are You A Furry?
That happens sometimes, but often people see furries expecting weirdos but they don't find them! Few things do as much for the fandom's image as furries hanging out at a restaurant or some other public place and being overall good patrons.

 Re: Are You A Furry?
That's what i mean. On the whole, most people I've found when you drop preconceived opinions of then and give them an unbiased chance, are just as nice as anyone else. I've personally never had a problem with furries and have mentioned previously that i do have an appreciation for the art though have never been that involved in the fandom.

 Why most people become furries:
Come on over to the furry side. Walk towards the cute. Embrace the cute. BE THE CUTE!

True... true. I've always been fascinated by the way wolves are able to harmonize their howls. As an amateur singer who often has trouble finding harmonies, I envy wolves.

I'm not that good at singing... But foxes make some weird noises, so that makes sense. Wouldn't it be weird if most wolf furries are good vocalists?

fox calls are often the explanation when people hear screaming and thing their house is haunted. hearing them in the middle of the night is unsettling.
