Edit: Also, I was re-watching the season premier, and something stuck out to me. At the very end, right after Luna brings out the book and shares that look with Celestia, the scene zooms over to Spike on Twilight's back. Watching that again, does it look like Spike was looking out at the book to anyone else? Or am I just imagining things?

Second thing I noticed, that spell that alerted Sombra to Twilight being so close to the Crystal Heart also allowed him to cast his crystal spell in the tower. Clever little thing there.

'nother edit: And I just found this on Facebook. Pretty cool, all things considered.

Dear Princess Celestia,

Today I learned that Cracked.com is really, really, REALLY anti-brony.

A large part of the internet at large doesn't care for bronies. It's simply not one of the more socially accepted fandoms, like gaming, comics or anime. Even as a fan of the show, there's lots of times when bronies turn me off.

Like when they creepily write their comments in the form of letters to a cartoon character? :P

(self-deprecating humor for the win)

And yeah, I understand that. Some of us are kinda crazy. I just meant Cracked seems particularly hostile... but anyways! Awesome show background music is awesome!

Cracked is a humor site that doesn't really care who they make fun of. They're also not focused on accuracy. So they're likely to be mean to people like bronies, furries, etc.

so I was on Equestria Daily and they had a post with the full version of that "giddy up" song from the commercial, found here

then scrolled down and saw this while I was listening
Image
he threw her in time with the music (maybe slightly off tempo cause it stops matching sometimes, but it stayed mostly in sync)

In other news, Rainbow Dash's Hot Minute
wonder if they're gonna do one for everypony in the Mane 6.
one thing though
Pet Peeve
"I can't stand slowpokes"
I guess her pet peeves her then :/

Cracked.com has lashed out specifically to Bronies before,

Just makes me feel like there website is run by immature people who try to be part of a crowd.
The basically tell the Bronies to 'grow up', I find this ironic

On his radio program, Nikki Sixx discussed bronies in less than flattering terms. He started in off by referring to bronies as "straight guys who are into My Little Pony". As if it were inconceivable that you could watch a cartoon and be heterosexual. First off, he needs to stop mocking gay people, and second, human sexuality is a little more complicated than that and is not determined by what cartoons you watch!

I know that it seems a little absurd to get upset with being satirized, its just this can be a means of perpetuating negative stereotypes. Just look what "CSI" did to furries in the minds of the general public.

There are always idiots that think satire is documentary.

Just finished the new episode! (it leaked early on Itunes and Youtube) That was very very good it gave a lot of character development to Pinkie Pie IMO, and it was funny as heck as well. Over all I would give it an 9/10.

I liked it a lot! Pinkie going nuts is my favorite, so there was a lot for me. Lots of visual gags.

...Oh God the face... *shivers*

Also Fingers! That was very surprising I cracked up at that point. The clone Pinkies getting names wrong was also adorable.

This was definitely a contender for my favorite episode yet. It was just constant Pinkie-based zaniness and I loved every second of it.

And so many little things about it were just amazing. Failing to turn an apple into an orange ("comparing apples and oranges" reference?), the Pinkie-clock, Pinkie "talking to myself" gags galore, the first Pinkie clone messing up FS and AJ's names and her "I wanted to have fun, but then there was too much fun to be had, so I ended up not having any fun at all!" freakout, the bear from Lesson Zero having lunch with FS and holding his pinkie out like a "proper" gentleman, the final test being watching paint dry... just EVERYTHING.

There wasn't a single draggy moment in this episode, and I'd be hard-pressed to even nitpick something about this episode that I didn't enjoy. And that's saying something.

And Pinkie may have just broken the long-standing tie for me between every one of the main cast (barring Rarity) to become my favorite again. At least for this week.

Yeah, Youtube's search system is pretty awful. The only reason I had that link on-hand is because someone in one of the pony project Skype groups I'm in linked it about 20 minutes ago. Haha.

Also, just out of curiosity, is anyone around here keeping up with an audioplay called Newsponies? It's by the same guys behind The Vinyl Scratch Tapes, and I'm super excited about it! I didn't manage to land a reoccurring role (yet!), but I did have several callbacks, so they invited me to contribute to all the "extra" roles throughout. In addition, I (and one or two others) have first dibs on the additional characters (some of which *are* reoccurring) that will be coming into the story later on!

So yeah! Shameless self-promotion/ecstatic brain spew! Weeeeeee~

I always search for the episode title.
or look for the youtube link on Equestria Daily

I loved this episode.

did anyone else think of these guys while the Pinkie's were saying "fun"?

the other day in anime club, a couple of the members mentioned that they first thought the "face" scene would bee in the Scootaloo episode, with nightmares. now I think they really need to slip a G3.5 Scoots into that episode

Well, Twilight can use powerful dark magic, turn living beings into oranges and cast a genocide spell on real ponies and not just clones.
Twilight for season 3 finalle.
murder is magic.

Wow, this thread has 180 pages, that's gonna take me all weekend.

When I read the synopsis to episode three I knew it was going to be a classic. Watching paint dry. Heh, that's why I love this show, you never see it coming. I can't get enough of watching Pinkie zoom around on the power of sugar. Did anyone else think when she stepped into the pool I thought she was entering a mirror world. And when the first pinkie blew up, was that an Angry Birds reference?

Ep1+2 were ok but the pass/fail song seemed out of place and I hope the next time we see an ancient enemy return they won't be beaten by a kingdom sized flash of magic.

I know no one will be able to answer these next few questions, i just want to see everyone's theories.

Where do you think Rainbow Dash's turtle has been all this time? Why did the Parasprites from season 1 just disappear? Did Twilight even need to go back in time or did they intentionally create a plot hole? Has anyone been to bronycon, what's it like?

JohnWillow wrote:Did Twilight even need to go back in time or did they intentionally create a plot hole?
that one's easy. It's a classic causality loop. She went back to stop herself from freaking out, and because she did, past her freaked out. If she hadn't gone back, she never would have freaked out enough to go back and freak herself out, causing a paradox. Either Twilight doesn't understand time travel and didn't remember that she was the cause of her freak out so she went back to try and stop it despite that being the event that set it off, or she does understand time travel and she went back to avoid the aforementioned paradox.

It would have been a plot hole if she hadn't gone back.

Huh...

Well, that makes more sense than the Cell Saga in Dragon Ball Z. Cell kills Trunks and travels back in time to become a pupa, in time a different Trunks who's found a way to destroy the Androids travels back and takes on that Cell, when Cell is dead he goes into the future but the Androids are still alive. Uh...did i get that right?

Re: My Little Pony

I'm not sure, but that's a different theory of time travel altogether. DBZ used the theory where any change a time traveler makes in the past creates a different timeline, so while Trunks changed the main timeline, his own would remain the same.

if FiM had used that theory, it wouldn't have made sense, since with that theory, she in her own timeline wouldn't have seen her future self and freaked out in the first place and the initial time travel wouldn't have happened.

So, I finally got around to watching the new episode. I... I don't know how to feel honestly. The animation was amazing, there was plenty of zaniness, I liked the friendship report... but... I don't know, there's just something mildly disturbing about the episode to me. At the end, I honestly wasn't sure if that was the real Pinkie Pie. It was just... I don't know. I couldn't enjoy it.

Re: My Little Pony

I was sure it was the real Pinkie... which is a problem someone else brought upon Tumblr. It was too obvious which one was the real Pinkie, so obvious that Twilight was being dense to not notice that one of those things was not like the others.

You think that, but... all those other Pinkies thought they were the real Pinkie. Beneath the intense desire for fun they had thoughts and feelings too. Just look at how the first Pinkie clone reacted at not being able to choose between Fluttershy and Applejack. And then there was the reckless way Twilight was firing that laser at the end... disintegrating the Pinkie clones... we saw she could hit multiple clones at once, so what if she got another Pinkie by accident while firing at one, and it was the real Pinkie? And what about the bird and frog that were turned into oranges? What kinds of lives are they going to lead now? At any moment they could get snatched up by some herbivore wanting a tasty treat. And Twilight made no attempt to fix them....

Actually, what's up with that anyway? Not trying to fix her spell mistakes, not being able to recognize her own real friend, firing off a potentially lethal spell with no hesitation... what's up with Twilight Sparkle?

I like things. Things are my favorite!

Edit: Okay, there was ONE thing in the episode I liked. When Pinkie was having fun in the pond quietly while Dash rested, and she let out that tiny little "Wheeeeeeeee" and slid slowly and quietly into the water. I fell over laughing when Dash asked "How'd you do that?!
