I can see the similarities between the scenarios, but there is more than enough difference for me. Besides, I would chose MLP over just about anything that Disney has ever made.

Honestly, the Little Mermaid didn't even cross my mind as I wacthed that scene. There are TONS of differences between the two scenes.
Besides, I agree with the nostalgia chick about the little mermaid: it's a horrible movie. The main charcater pretty much does a lot of stupid choices that almost got everyone killed and there was no consequence for her actions.

There was one consequence. She got everything that she wanted.

I thought that "Its about time was also a reference to "Escape From New York" and its sequel "Escape From LA", the inspiration for "Metal Gear".

The artist said he created that scene (from the second picture) from a scene of Naruto Shippuden.

Is there any one-off, side characters that anyone would like to see return? In any capacity? Personally, I would like to see Braeburn, Gilda, and Trixie come back. For Gilda and Trixie, I would like to see them come back not as antagonists.

I am enjoying this PMV mainly for the song, but the video matches pretty nicely.

Exactly. I'm sorry if some super-obsessive fans of the show have given you the wrong idea, but there's really nothing special or out of the way about being a brony. It's not some prestigious "super fan" people have to do something extreme to achieve. It applies to all of us who watch the show and aren't in the right age demographic.

It seems to me like a lot of people have forgotten this...

Oh no, don't get me wrong, it's not that I've met some super-obsessive fan or anything.
You all were the first fans that I've met.

It's just that I watched all of the episodes online in my spare time when I had nothing to do. There are some shows, like Naruto, that I watch almost as soon as the next part comes out online. With My Little Pony, I just watched it when I could spare 20 or so minuets. For Naruto, I make the time to watch it.

And for the final thing, I wouldn't be disappointed or anything if the show had to be canceled for some reason.

I mean, I enjoy the show, but I just don't count myself as a brony.

I'm not big on the song, but it has to be one of the best collections of epic Pony art that I have ever seen!

Hey, you ever think about how the mane 6 are basically superheroes in Equestria? I mean, Twilight has her incredible magic powers, Rainbow Dash has her super speed, Pinkie Pie has her sixth sense and obvious ability to mess with the fabric of reality, Applejack has her great speed, strength, endurance, and lasso, Fluttershy has her Stare and ability to commune with animals, while Rarity seems to be extremely skilled in martial arts. She's, like, the Black Widow of the group.

And on that subtle segue, I just got back from seeing The Avengers. It was impossibly awesome.
