Great episode (the best Fluttershy episode so far, IMO), but it begs the question: Why wasn't that wonderbolt (forgot her name) helping?

Fluttershy is a tree! I squee'd at that. I also liked the buff pony, and Twilight (not) speaking squirrel.

And I second Spitfire being a jerk. A freaking famous athlete is just standing there and the moral is "you need Fluttershy." No, you need the pony with like five times her wingpower.

I loved how tiny the buff pony's wings were. XD I laughed hardcore when he first showed up. Also, "That coughing better be from a popcorn kernel, Thunderwing." Hahaha.

This episode was just full of hilarity. :3

But the thing is that if Spitfire had intervened with out being asked it would have been a slap in a face to Rainbow Dash and more importantly all of Ponyville saying they couldn't do it. It would have been very insulting on Spitfires part, she didn't interfere because she knew it was a matter of pride.

I think Equestria's water supply is more important than Rainbow Dash's pride.

She would have most likely helped if she had been asked its just if she had with out being asked it would have been admitting that Ponyville couldn't do it when they asked them to, which Spitefire most likely knew would have been insulting to Ponyvilles pride. Now if she had stood by when asked to help then she would have been a jerk but in this case she isn't IMO.

I think she should have offered, then, at first, Dash says the ponyville ponies can do it, then fluttershy joins the group, the end.

RD's pride; Ponyville's pride. It really doesn't matter. Making sure the water supply gets to it's proper place is far more important than other ponies' pride.

Besides, as Twilight pointed out, if they had failed (if Fluttershy had been unable to swallow her fear and help everyone out), a lot of ponies could have ended up severely hurt. And as the overseer of the project, it's Spitfire's job to ensure that when things are going wrong, she is there to fix them and make sure the job gets done.

Point is: she failed her job as an overseer.

Maybe she has a set number of failures before she has to step up and help them out, and she has to leave it up to the ponies of the town given the job until that failure quota has been met.
the job got done, she can't really be said to have failed unless it didn't get done in the end.

When Fluttershy was having those flashbacks and could hear the mocking laughter of the young ponies I thought that she was going to have a "Carrie" moment!

Finally got around to watching the new episode. Awesome buff pony, lots of great faces, and a deeper look into Fluttershy's past.

My favorite thing about the episode though was Rainbow Dash. I know a lot of fans think she's been a jerk throughout season 2, especially in her own episodes, but this one showed why Rainbow Dash is a good pony, and a good friend. Anyone else thinking that?

While I personally never thought she was a jerk in season 2 (at least not more then from season 1 anyway) I do think this episode showed Dash as a really great friend to Fluttershy. I loved their interactions with each other.

Guys... I have found myself addicted to a certain MLP Fanfiction series I think we've herd heard at least once about.

Discord may appear again

I already saw the previous post about it, but then he had only said he'd voiced more MLP, not an episode, so I was thinking it could have been a game or something.
I hope Discord becomes a semi-regular character, at least appearing in 1-2 episodes per season. He's awesome.

Well if he just worked on a episode then its likely he returns for Season 3 in some way, depending on how long ago he took the word "recently" in that tweet; so its possible he is in the season 2 finale as Discord.



I really don't want him to reappear every season because then he just becomes Q (and I like Q, don't get me wrong) and I get that's pretty much what Discord is sort of suppose to be but I'd rather not have it be that blatant about it. I hope its a game or something like that.

I'd totally be okay with Discord coming back occasionally just to break up the monotony (so to speak). I know that I've said it before, that I never really thought of him as an "evil" character. He's just out for a good laugh. And if his powers were reduced to a point where he couldn't pose a threat to the kingdom, I really don't see why he couldn't make appearances now and again as a "good" character.

Maybe I've just seen too much Discord x Pinkie Pie art, but I could really see those two getting along.

She's actually Discord in disguise

I'd honestly not be surprised if it was something like that.

So far the possibilities are:
1)Candence is not a real alicorn
2)She's a clone
3)It's Discord in disguise.

So you want him to be Q, because that was a joke lifted right from ST:TNG. There were some minor differences of course but it was basically him being Q.

If the finale has anything to do with Discord I'm betting either Candence or Shining Armor get controlled by Discord some how.

There have been many different variations of pony based on European mythology, Unicorns and Pegasi/Pterippi, but I think that this would make a very interesting new pony species.
