Yeah, that's just nasty you can't be a talking non-human like the rest of us!

I'm not sure what humans have counts as fur, but I'm not sure. I'm no zoologist.

As I said, I'm pretty sure it's hair, not fur, but the point remains with the whole 'covering pretty much the whole body' thing

At first it was a fox named hexlarcs, because my favoriot character was Tails and Hexlarcs was the best thing I could get after scrambling Charles and adding an X.

Rayne my skunk fursona came when I realized "Dang there are alot of foxes". I chose a skunk cuase I always like farting and burping. He's a black mage becuase I always play as an offensive spell caster. The spells he uses come from shin megami tensie. I chose a scythe becuase Scythes are cool (and Marluxia is one of my favoriot organazation XIII members). The reason said Sycthe can tunr into a sniper and detacth and other stuff is becuase of Flay's mechsword in Mana Khemai. The school he goes to Manakhemai/anime hogwarts/familar of a Zero. The mana/familairs all my characters have also Mana Khemia and Familair of a Zero.

For sonic to be my favoriot series ever I'd expect more of it in there.

Yep, I have a new fursona. An Arctic wolf.

The blue stripes look cool. The species was actually somewhat decided by a really, really good friend. I just thought it was awesome! I added the details myself though…besides from the stripes. Gotta love blue stripes. The jacket is based of my real jacket that I love. It’s like my style. Aaron loves his black jackets, after all. The 44 on it…is, well, my name and logo. The goggles are oddly based on digimon, hehe…a funny show. The main character always wears goggles.

This whip…I love Indiana Jones movies.

(also, my lucario fursona hasn't gone. More like whatever you'd prefer to see me as, most of the time. ^^)

its a wolf.

its based on a wolf.

i chose wolf for lots of reasons, but the main one being this awesome dream i had.
(i was a wolf)
TONS of other reasons though.

the darkening and lightening on the tail and ears (respectively) is to represent my self-contrast.

the clothes are to show how eccentric i am, but more visible.

the tear marks are for a real emo reason. (he has tear marks now)

Everyone's fursona means something different to them. It's not like you have to be constantly-kinda-in-character like some of us are in order to have one.

My fursona is a black, white and orangey tan anthro Border Collie with blue eyes. He wears a black hoodie with New Zealand stitched on the front (woot Patriotism + I have this hoodie). I wanted my fursona to reflect my heritage and Border Collies were brought from Scotland to New Zealand to be farm dogs, much like my family emigrated to be farmers. Not that we are farmers anymore (me and manual labour, lol). I also admire their intelligence. And they look awesome too. :D

I reckon it counts...and, even if it's off-topic a little, what is the furry 'lifestyle'?

Since a fursona is the alter ego of you, it does fit in with the topic to a degree...

this would be, for example, wearing animal-themed shirts, barepawing, referring to your significant other as your "mate", etc.

I've liked geckos since I was maybe 5 or 6; I wore a lot of Maui & Sons and Gecko Hawaii shirts then. When I found the fandom and settled on a gecko fursona, I was just a generic green gecko. Then in 2004, someone on the Homestar Runner Wiki Forum made an avatar for me that consisted of the GEICO gecko with my name superimposed on top. It stuck with me; my fursona is now a Madagascar day gecko.

Ebly totally stole the idea for his fursona from me. How unoriginal is that

Re: calicos

Yes, it's absolutely true that almost all calico cats are female, and the rare male ones are sterile. This is because the calico pattern can only ever emerge when there are two X chromosomes present, which means that male calicos have to be XXY. It's a genetic mutation that always results in sterility. On a similar note, there's about an 80/20 ratio of male to female orange tabby cats. This is because, again, the gene for ginger fur is on the X chromosome. Since males can only have one of these, if they get it, they're orange. That makes male ginger cats common. Since females have two Xs, they can get orange and something else, resulting in calico or tortiseshell fur pattern. Female cats are only solid ginger tabby if both X chromosomes contain the gene for orange.

Going even further, the gene for a tabby pattern is dominate (Aa) while the trait of suppressing the tabby pattern recessive (aa). However, the ginger fur gene (O) overrides (aa), even if it's present. And that's why there's no such thing as a solid, non-tabby ginger cat.

Isn't genetics fun?

Mine: My Sigma character at 18yo.

Inspiration for the name "Sigma" comes from a few things.
Name: My favorite symbol, full stop, is the Greek letter Sigma.
It represents Sparta, war, anger, etc.
I am a fairly angry and recluse person, so I thought it would be perfect to take it as my favorite symbol.
Also, in math it is the operator for a summation equation. I like math. (and by summation I don't mean 2+2)

Colors:
Red and black are my 2 favorite colors (blue coming in a close third), but I have already used red & black for Raspberry.
I decided that blue & red would be a good mix of colors, especially since they are kind of "contrasting colors" in that they are used in opposing situations a lot. (Red versus Blue, Fire versus Ice, etc.)
This could help me highlight contrasting personalities within Sigma. Angry, but loving. Shy, but confident. You get the picture.

Personalities and Behaviors:
I wanted him to sort of share some behaviors of my cat, such as his response to petting, his clinginess, etc.
His personality: Mainly contrasting personality types exist within him at once. It's sort of explained above.
The main personalities he has are ones that I have.

Why a cat? I am a cat person. Always have been. I don't have anything against dogs, but I just like cats more.
I may experiment with dogs/wolves in the future.

Why not Raspberry or Blackberry? You already had them created!
While one of those two would have been good selections, I felt that I didn't really mold their personalities and behaviors to something I want to be seen as.
I decided to then think of the back-story for Sigma and create him as a nearly direct clone of my personality and behaviors.
Also, instead of dropping Raz and Blackberry from the mix, I decided to keep them as RP characters. They are pretty cute together...

I have a small story that I plan to write on this, but haven't really started it yet.
Very short version: Sigma is the "child" of Raspberry and Blackberry. He wasn't really born, but transformed by the spirits from human (me) to kitten, then he grew up. (His DNA does have a 50% match to both Ras and Blackberry)

His colors are Dark Blue base, black mittens, and red tabby stripes.
His collar is black with a gold capital sigma hanging from it.
His special markings are: Capital sigma on the forehead, 2 red stripes above his eyes (like eyebrows) to make him look angry, lowercase sigma on each shoulder, and a capital omega on his belly
(to represent that his time as a cat is up, but since he's going to be my fursona, he's always going to be 18)
(I also consider myself to be in more of a phase than truly a furry. I'm just not completely decided on where I'm going with this, but I will have Sigma in case I do decide.)

Any other info:
Breed: Tabby
Height: 3 feet, 1 inch (exactly 1/2 my height)
Weight: About 85 pounds. (10 lb over half my weight)
Special things he can do: Sigma, when angered (not annoyed) can become VERY vicious *like me*. It's quite hard to anger him, and he normally only gets annoyed. He hisses when he's annoyed.

Sorry for my wall of text. That should be a little insight into my craaazy mind.

2nd option, definitely. Civ.

Anyways, my fursona is a white cat with light blue eyes, done in my own art style (which takes some influence from Ballerina Mafia for the facial features, but aside from that, it's basically just how I draw.
