As far as polls, your friendly, local moderators either have access to that feature or know someone who does and will make or arrange for any poll you desire (for a small, one-time fee).

Wouldn't a "This" button be the same as the previously-suggested karma system?

Cookie karma system would be nice...

I personally suggest against a karma system. Those kinds of things only lead to people grubbing karma, and we don't want that.

^This. Karma is a bad idea.

The 'word friendly' thing can't actually be done on a phpBB forum as Rick's already said

I am near-100% certain the same goes for a 'mobile' version of the forum.

And what on earth would the 'this' button do anyway?

The other suggestions I don't really have anything to say on

New suggestion: Post Clubs! Could we have them? As in, everyone joins a post club depending upon how many posts they have made, like in the FA forums?

We had one, it got locked I think, so...
I don't really see the point anyways.

I'm not inclined to support a spam incentive. (I assume you mean like the ranks some forums have?)

mods can't actually edit the forum itself so we still get to post suggestions, okay? *giggles*

there's something I think would be interesting, but it would be difficult to execute, pointless, and the novelty would wear off after a few days
still, i can't help but think that having joinable groups with dedicated group-only forums would be awesome *giggles*
i can't think of any practical use for them on Housepets whatsoever so I would never legitimately root for this to happen

call it a fanciful thought rather than a suggestion?

This is totally doable, if you can convince Rick to make all the groups and their respective forums. x3 "Pete's Posse" and "Fido Fans" are just two examples! ;3

HAHAHA! You hit edit instead of quote! Nice job man!

There is no way I am not keeping your edit in my post

No, that's not what karma is. Karma is something you use to say you like or dislike a post, and then a person's karma goes up or down accordingly. Sometimes it's weighted higher if the person has high karma. It turns forums into popularity contests, from my experience. It also is a positive feedback loop that discourages varying opinions, since popular opinions yield more karma, which makes them give more karma, and so on and so forth.

Wouldn't those group forums be hard to moderate?

I'd agree with people who are against a Karma or reputation system. I've seen it become the cause of alot of problems and fueds on a few forums and people seem to think they are better than others due to higher rep or Karma (this sometimes happens with post count too.)

you know, nobody mentioned karma since tha housedog

anyway, it wouldn't be all that hard. 'global mod' implies, you know, global. we can see every forum and post on them, edit posts, etc etc – so moderation would ultimately be the same deal as it is now.

You obviously haven't been spending that much time on FAF. It's a button where people click "This" and show up in a list of people that agree with the post.

Even if it does, I'm not sure it would be compatible with the forum style (Hestia Blue). Trust me, this is basically the most appealing style available. I actually like it, though I might slightly favor Hestia Green.

what about purple!

purple's way better than green!

at least blue we can both agree on as being a factor of both purple and green!

I'd go for purple, it would match the banner and all, but I think blue is nice, calm, and neutral- AKA not distracting.

No wait, that's a terrible idea. Red text. There we go.

This is what I was talking about: Could we be allowed to change it? Or at least have an automated one to change whenever we did something or reached a milestone?

I can answer this one because I've already been told the answer: customizing it can't be done, and milestones will just encourage mindless posting.

-Milestones just feeds unnecessary posting.

-A 'this' button isn't really needed here, FAF's a lot bigger with a truckload more stuff and over there, that kind of button helps cut down on post spam. Here, I really don't think we need such things.

-Karma would just give a lot of people something to abuse other people with and we'd end up taking it away within a few months of doing it, so why bother?

Would anyone be interested in adding Housepets! emoticons to the forums? Better phrased... if we were to add the emoticons Frooxius created as an optional posting feature, would you use them?

If Frooxius is what Tails++ is calling himself these days, then I respond with a wholehearted yes. I try to use those a lot, but going through the thread and inserting them as images is kinda inconvenient.

Ambivalent=No particular feeling one way or the other, basically abstaining from the vote (of course, you could also do that by not voting.)

And Diss, I see this poll expires tomorrow. Are you perhaps thinking that this thread could host new polls every once and a while?
