Of course not. :) Why would it be?

It means when someone criticizes someone else for a fault the critic him/herself has, and isn't doing anything about.

I know none of the characters are hearing what was in my last post, but I hope it changes some people's minds about Vanilla....

I was trying to give an idea of why Vanilla acts the way she does, and to do so through Vanilla rather than have Honey explain it.

There's something of me in Vanilla--I don't act like a snob, but I do keep to myself around strangers out of fear, which I guess could be perceived as being stuck up--and so it hurts me when people say she's mean, or just blankly label her without all the facts.

She's not a bad person, she's just had a lot of bad experiences and has been hurt a lot, and she doesn't want that to happen again. She just wants a friend like she had before.

EDIT: I'm for that.

Thought I'd give creating an RP character a go before heading to sleep! I don't think tired-ness has made me overlook anything, but I'll check it over to be sure when I'm more awake.

Name: Sebastian Cantor, but goes by Seb more often than not.

Species: Dog, more specifically Basenji

Age: 17 (about 5 human years)

Gang: None

-Appearance-
Seb's fur is on the short side, and a red-brown color from his pointy ears down to his curled tail. The only exceptions to this are the white fur that runs from his stomach out to his paws, and the white line of hair from his nose up to midway between his eyes. His collar is green, with a black question-mark shaped tag hanging from the front.

-Personality-
Seb has a habit of speaking before thinking, but on the whole just means well. He has a hard time holding grudges, and honestly tries his best to make those around him happy when he can. At the same time, however, meaning well and doing well are not quite the same thing-- he is not one for lies or sarcasm. Both of them tend to go right over his head, leaving him at times confused and about as tactful as a bag of hammers. When this isn't a problem for him, however, he has his moments where he can be genuinely insightful.

-Other Notes-
Sebastian isn't dumb so much as he is not worldly. He grew up essentially in the middle of nowhere, and as such, has a lot of naivete when it comes to the world at large.

-SPECIAL-

Strength- 5

Perception- 9

Endurance- 7

Charisma- 6

Intelligence- 3

Agility- 8

Luck- 4

What an interesting problem we have here now.

Now that the Nelson house has been trashed.. Again, Magnus is going to need to have a coon in a cage to present to Mr. Nelson..

Or he is going to get severely punished. or even him an Pav thrown out into the street.

But then What happens to Felix, if he gets caged??

stay tuned to this same bat channel, to find out.

Even though my bios are back on page 22 (I should probably link them in my signature, shouldn't I?), I added some elements to Vanilla's bio. Mostly her likes--chess, the Alice books, and Kubrick films. I wanted to put that somewhere and since she and Honey are at home there's no point in putting that into the RPG itself yet.

She's an avid fan of the Alice books though she won't admit to it--she has a first edition of Wonderland but not one of Through the Looking-Glass, and that's what she wants more than anything (in terms of material items, I mean). Just in case anyone was wondering what to get her for her birthday, wink wink nudge nudge. ;)

I could be totally wrong, but maybe he chose it because it's Latin for 'box?'

To my knowledge, Pyxis does not mean Box in Latin. I do know that ‘Magnus’ means large in the same translation however.

Pyxis refers specifically to a small box, of the type that one might use for powder/cosmetics or medicine.

Couldn't Magnus just clean the place up after he visits Pavelle? His dad won't be home until like, three. Or did I say five...? I don't know, sometime in the afternoon.

Oh, hooray for time fluxes.

I shoulda posted this earlier...

Rav, supposedly, was out all day, or at the very least, though lunch, and then was brought to Pavelle. So, it's night, right?

...So then what happens when the pets, who are currently somewhere in late morning, try to visit? There is some kind of time flux going on here that doesn't work...I'd say that "the sedatives screwed with their perception of time" is the easiest way out.

*cough* Caelei, you wouldn't mind editing the last bit of post there so that this works, could you? Something like afternoon, at least, so the gap is plausible...

Getting visitors wasn't part of the scripted RP. getting the pets going in a pet school RP was the goal, as well as getting Caelei's characters out of trouble an the danger of getting evicted out of their home.

Why do you think Sara has said, wait until they come home in the morning to see them, several times?

So have had to resort to delaying actions to make up the time diff.
Venison telling his story ate some time.. now they have to put the house back into order so Magnus can say the raccoon hasn't returned home will take up more time-which runs concurrently with Felix dyeing his fur..
If Venison would tell his story to Christopher, that would burn more time.. An i could Soooo build on Venison's story, if he would. Sara doesn't have the pet medical knowage to IC'ly do it.

If we can delay long enough it will be late afternoon/early evening an in the same time zone as Rav n' Pav an balbaroy.

Did I forget to add "to the detriment of flexibility?"

When I used to RP, we didn't use scripted/structured scenarios.

I don't know anyone who does, since that kind of goes against what playing the role is about, no?

No.

I didn't think you guys were scripting to a "t", just brainstorming and thinking of ideas to put the characters though. You can nudge and try to influence direction, but you can never make things go exactly as you "perfectly plan them..." because you only have control over your own characters!

What would have happened if Venison decided to just go off and see Pavelle? Even on his leg, the travel time couldn't be more than an hour to the hospital. Not only that, he would have rounded up as many pets as possible to assist him, do to what he thought was going to happen to Pavelle and Rav. Oh, wouldn't that have that gone well. He'd be knocking down the door of the animal hospital by mid-morning. Yeah, write that one into the script. You're lucky this didn't happen.
Keeshah wrote:Why do you think Sara has said, wait until they come home in the morning to see them, several times?
Counterpoint: What makes you think Venison would listen to this? To him, the comment was more like an annoying fly buzzing in his ear. Venison isn't the kind to sit idle and wait, or leave things to chance or hope. It isn't him. Even if you PM'ed me and told me to take that option, I would have simply said, "No, that's out of character."

When it comes down to it, RP isn't about script...it's lack thereof, and the unpredictability of what the other players can do, and playing off WHAT the other players do. You simply can't force anyone to "stick to the script;" it's downright impossible. Even when you try to nudge a player to do something, they're just as likely to go the opposite direction of what you want.

Yes, the sidestory at the animal hospital was nice. After-all, writing a story is fun, and reading it is awesome too. No, I wouldn't want that to go away. However, no, other players are not going to act out of character to create a time bubble for you. So fix it. There's an easy out.

Guys in RG, you kind of really need to listen to that too, you're crowding out the OOC (after being told to take it to a chat room, not here) with scripting.

How many people here actually know how to roleplay? Because the number seems to be decreasing every day. I mean, even Grape and Peanut suck at roleplay etiquette.

I didn't realize how far 'scripting' goes, I guess. I'm sorry if I offended anyone. It's not like we were sitting there and scheming over a bubbly cauldron of molten words, or anything simularly sinister. I never assumed that what we were discussing would be set in stone, and couldn't be altered... Once again, sorry.

Anywho, I edited my post to make it so that it was morning there. Of course, Keesh posted after me and used the piece of my original post that used the whole 'night' thing, but if you just ignore that, it should work out alright for everyone. Hopefully it makes sense.
Is'n Mrs. Nelson in the house? wouldn't she be coming to see what all the crashing was about?
She's only semi-conscious most of the time, and on a good day can muster the strength to get out of bed. Also, she's under pain meds, which kinda dampens her ability to be aware of things. Like a haze, you could say. And even if she was awake to hear the crashing, she would probably just assume that Pavelle would take care of things, for her. She understands Pavelle's intelligence and knows that she's capable enough to handle the responsibility of taking care of her brother.

Quite a bit of it is my friend! I've gone through about 70 pages of this and only scripted like, two events. one went totally 180, and the other just slightly off path.

Nope! Just most of it.

Oh, by the way, if you somehow haven't noticed yet, there is a new version of the OOC for Pet Friendly. Go look at it and comment.
