It's on the same level as the main balcony. It's actually a couple of seats in a "box" which is actually a small balcony all of your own, complete with curtain behind you and in JD's theatre, an usher to keep your drinks topped up.
Here's a picture of a large theatre, taken from the stage, You can see the boxes on either side at the top of the image, the balconies in the centre and the floor down the bottom. JD's theatre isn't as tall as this one - he only has one balcony - but this gives you an idea of the arrangement.

Just out of interest, how many of you have actually been to the theatre in real life? I can give you a more detailed plan and description of what's in there and how it all works if you like.

I've been to the Dewan Filharmonik PETRONAS in KLCC to watch some MPO concerts, and I watched a lot of this classical music anime called Nodame Cantabile, so I knew what the box is. It's rather small to be honest, no balconies and maybe a seating capacity of about 500? But there's a lot of boxes at different levels.

I'm rather surprised that not many people knew what a box seat is actually. :?

Hlaoroo wrote:Being in the box is essentially being in your own private balcony. You'll still be able to see those in the main balcony due to the curve of the theatre but you are separated from "the commoners" by a solid wall.
*FACEPALM*

That's what I thought a balcony seat was. I have never been to a theater before and the ones I've seen in movies only had the regular seats and some box seats so I thought that box seats were balcony seats. My bad.

It's okay.
Also if James is well known to the theater personal, wouldn't Kelly tell some of the actors he's here? It seems like you'd want to tell your actors that a critic that can supposedly "drive them bankrupt or skyrocket them to stardom" is watching their performance.

Well she probably wouldn't want to worry them or distract them from the show.
She's out and busy with the audience and patrons too. She wouldn't have time.
Not to mention that to her, although she knows that James has influence, as far as she's concerned he's just another patron.

When you spend hours studying each and every shiny pokemon so you always know if you encounter one (because ones like garchomp are SUPER hard to tell the difference if you don't have a side-by-side comparison) you only need enough light to see color to notice different shades. That and Avery's seat is on the edge of the little isle so he's closest to the lights. Also did Avery use his metal hand to shake or his regular one?

It depends on what's Jack's dominate hand is. His left hand is the robotic, so. If Jack is left-handed too. Though it should feel like the real thing ^_^

Okaaaay, first off: That is a lot of detail about the outbreak and the results of said virus. I'm pretty sure the rp rules say no death or gory details, and while there wasn't much detail, you did explain the pleading look in their eyes as their life slowly whithered away. In the future, if someone died in the past and your explaining it, trail off on the train of thought.

Second: I don't want John and Ashe's mental lapse's to become a regular thing. I know its dramatic, and you write it in the most mind-blowingly awesome way... But its just starting to feel repetetive.

Third: I wanted the theater to be a nice transition from the drama for the end of the day. Let's get everything fixed and with little details so we can get everyone back in the theater, please.

That all makes sense and sounds reasonable to me.

How about have the medics arrive, declare the three fit and sound and then they can go again, and we can continue on with the show after a slightly extended intermission? That way we have the continuity and we end the drama nicely. You could do the whole medic thing in a single post.

Erm, so I guess you and Hlaoroo could help herd things back in place? I hope John's diagnosis is concise enough so that nothing much would arise from it.

Edit: Yeah, that sounds good Hlaoroo :3

Okay, another double post. Sue me, o mods of the forums! *shot*

I wanted to create another character, and this time it's a collab between me and Roarin!

Name
Hajime

Species
North American River Otter

Gender
Male

Class
Ani-droid

Age
3 months. Physically he looks in the mid 20s.

Appearance
Hajime is very tall for his species designation, and has a swimmer’s lithe and muscular build. He has dark brown fur throughout his body, except for a cream underbelly, chest and lower muzzle. His eyes are ash grey in colour. He always wears a black T-shirt, a maroon visor cap and a maroon apron that covers his whole front down to his knees, bearing the “Sufficient Grounds Café” logo on the chest. He also wears a pair of rimless glasses, though this is just an accessory.

Mods
1) Advanced gyroscopic stabilizers. This makes him a very sure-footed droid, to the point that he could balance several trays on his arms and one leg outstretched and still be steady.
2) Pneumatic-hydraulic actuators on his four limbs and core body. This enables him to be able to carry extremely heavy loads.
3) Comprehensive and complete music programming and repertoire. This means he could play just about any musical instruments out there like a pro musician, with the pre-installed scores and reprogrammable AI.

Personality
Hajime is, like most domestic service Ani-droids, friendly, polite and respectful by default. Unlike the rest though, he has a rather serious and stoic personality, taking pride in his work as a barista and waiter in the place he works in. He serves the customers to the coffee shop as if he is their personal butler, tending to their every need without fail. While this would be expected in a high-class restaurant, it’s rather out of place in the coffee shop he currently resides in. He speaks with a deep baritone voice. He loves to serenade his guests with his favourite musical instrument, the violin.

Other notes
1) Peculiarly, he refers to all the customers as either goshuujin-sama (esteemed guest) or [name]-sama. He refers to Alec as Danna-sama (master) and to Avery as Obocchama (young master). He speaks English otherwise.
2) He was initially supposed to be working at a Japanese butler’s café in Japan, where all the waiters are male Ani-droids with bishonen (beautiful men) characteristics. However, he was mistakenly shipped to Apollo City. When Alec was setting up his coffee shop, he saw him being sold at a very low discounted price due to the low demands for a butler-like service droid, and bought him straightaway.
3) Hajime lives in the shop, and powers down in it at night as well. He has never met Avery yet.

SPECIAL Stats (Assuming the Apollo System is not used anymore)
STR - 9
PER - 7
END - 5
CHA - 6
INT - 4
AGI - 8
LUC - 4

Colour #408000

EDIT: Added colour :3

I like him ^w^ accepted!

Also, considering that there arre BOATLOADS of NPC's I control, I'll be assigning sections for the players.

ACPD staff will be controlled by Lego and 69eist (if he's still interested).

Hlaoroo will control Hospital and Theater staff.

Sanctuary staff will be controlled by Roarin

I'll be controlling Atlas and Argo staff, and the Moon Base captain.

I think that's all the area's that need to be covered, so unless you want to control restaurant NPC's, then that's it.

I'm okay with controlling the police force. I've got some ideas for NPC police cypets, but I don't have to time to make a full character sheet, so I'm gonna put a cliffnotes version of one that I have in mind here.

Omni: golden retriever. Almost of all his body is cybernetic, except for his tail, his right arm, his feet, the chest area around his heart, his left thigh and his head except the part of his brain that's hooked up to his mods. Has very low endurance, health and strength because most of his body is a walking computer. His mods are being able to hook up to the security system of whatever building he enters and can talk to machines. Likes the company of machines the best and sometimes answers questions asked on the other side of the building because he's hooked up to the security cameras and forgets what he's seeing with his eyes and what he's seeing through a camera. Around four human years old.

You know how when your tired, sometimes your mind goes into a creative phase? Yeah, after reading Omni's ref, I had one of those :p

For starters, Orion's prosthetic's were specially made for him to survive, and even then his body is really slow, and can only do basic things. Omni wouldn't be able to be a field police officer (or even alive) if his right arm, tail, and face are the only things organic. Only having an organic tail, arm, and face would mean he's an ani-droid with organic body parts. Give him organic or partially organic organs, and your good to go.

But on a side note, Omni sounds like a pet who could closely relate to Orion, so if you feel like making him a main, I wouldn't mind. But considering that Orion's body had to be repaired with who knows how much money, Omni would have to be owned by a high class person.

By face you mean head, right? Without an organic brain he's a droid, as Neon said.

About the NPC allocations, I actually only intend to control Hajime. I dunno if I should control the others as well, seeing how the restaurant belongs to Roarin's character, but handling the sanctuary would be pretty immense. It's up to Roarin on how s/he want things done :3

So, here's my CSs for my own cast. Hope you like them, guys^^

APOLLO CITY CHARACTHER SHEETS

JEMMY
Species: Ani-Droid Genet
Assumed gender: Male
Age: unknown. There are no data about his construction date and it is not possible to discern his mind pattern for an estimated maturity age.
Character Type: main character
Neighborhood: Apollo City
Appearance: Jemmy looks like a genet, including a long fluffy tail made of carbon nano-sensors, the same sensors that cover his body.
Primary modifications: Jemmy’s ‘fur’ works both as solid, flexible armor and –in the case of his tail- as weapon and wide-range sensorial apparatus. One could say that the whole body of Jemmy is receptive to the EM spectrum!
Jemmy’s eyes can see in the various EM-frequencies. Jemmy’s ‘fur’ can collect electromagnetic energies and collect them into beam of scattered and/or coherent light. His fur can be used as ‘antenna’ to transmit radio waves, thus allowing him to get in touch with informatics systems and communication systems. Often, Asur loves to use Jemmy as mean to hack into other people’s systems.
Secondary modifications: Jemmy’s tail has been modified to be a storage system for repair tool kits and first aid kit. The tail tip includes a welding laser for repairs. Jemmy’s eyes can project low-intensity surgical lasers. His retractable claws are covered with a very sharp nanofilm.
Jemmy’s gyroscopes allow him to perform exceptional agility stunts. He is powered primarily by hydrogen batteries and secondarily by solar energy. He has no super-strength in respect to other ani-droids, but he is very durable on the long run and he’s resilient to direct exposition to cosmic radiation in space. He is not equipped with rockets, but with small compressed air propellers for space maneuvering. This suggests that his wielding tail-laser was conceived to be used as repair tool in complex maneuvers.
Security Modification: While all (or most of) ani-droids are equipped with antivirus protections, Jemmy is provided with a KRATOS-class antivirus, unique in its genre. Basically, the KCAV will force the anidroid to disconnect partially or completely rather than hurting its owners (for example, the laser can't activate if it can even accidentally hurt someone), or self-destruct rather than hurting the collectivity. It is a kind of antivirus found only in highest-class military equipment, which only adds another layer to Jemmy's origins...
But KRATOS won't prevent Jemmy using its abilities as fighting machine should a situation of self-defense arise, always limiting the options to the less lethal ones but always escalating according to the conflict level.

Jemmy was named by Helmut after the famous, eccentric animal-lover James ‘Jemmy’ Hirst. He was found on the surface of the Moon by Helmut and Asur. No data were available to discern his manufacturer or how did such an advanced specimen end up abandoned on the moon.
As his name suggests, Jemmy won’t act like your regular ani-droid, preferring to act often according to his own agenda, but always thinking positive, always by the principle that basically people are not evil at heart, but rather…ethically challenged sometimes. Jemmy is quite the curious little fella and sometimes helpful, sometimes detached and clinical, you can never tell which one will prevail at a given moment. For sure, he decided to apply a strict gratitude protocol in favor of Helmut and Asur and will always obey them no matter what.

Jemmy's color

SPECIAL:
Strength: 5
Perception: 7
Endurance: 6
Charisma: 4
Intelligence: 7
Agility: 7
Luck: 6

DR. HELMUT LEONOVICH VOLKEN– Ani-droid engineer. Main Character, Jemmy’s owner. Human. Black, short ruffled hair and a 5 o'clock shadow. Grey eyes. 1.80 mt tall, medium build. Wears jeans jacket and trousers, with a white fireproof, bulletproof lab coat. he also carries around a toolkit in an utility belt and an all-purpose tablet for diagnostic and communication.
Helmut was born of German mother and Russian father in Germany, after his family had to move because of the latest great war for the Moon. Helmut was taught engineering in the newest Ani-Droiden Ingenieurbundes Universität, in Bremen. His parents gave literally every penny they had saved so that Helmut could receive the best education. His mother, unable to afford adequate medical cures, died when he was halfway through his courses. His father passed due to an accident shortly after his degree.
Since then, Helmut proved he had earned his fame, and has worked at the Midway Space Station, developing new audacious technologies for the anidroids.
Unfortunately, his colleague and long-time friend since school, Jason Arnauld, decided that the new technologies could be sold to the militaries to create a new breed of living weapon to subjugate what was left of Russia. Helmut opposed him and managed to retrieve his researches and save them on a sentient drive, Hermes. In escaping from Jason and his ‘partners’, Helmut had to destroy his own lab and the materials he had developed, thus becoming a wanted criminal and terrorist in the eyes of the law.
Wanted, penniless, jobless, Helmut had to rely on the help of his assistant, the Serpiente alien Asur. Asur, like many of his species, has been influenced by the Spanish culture, and with it he acquired a taste for a still-popular anime, Mazinger Z. he promptly nicknamed himself Ashura and his partner Dr. Hell –which tends to upset Helmut, a lot.
As of today, Helmut and Ashura live in the C2 residential area for low-class citizens, working on repairs and maintenance of everything one needs, be it shady or not, as long as it doesn’t involve hurting ani-droids and cy-pets.

ASUR – Alien, Serpiente, male. Main Character. Jemmy’s owner.
Asur was born on Earth, the son of a family belonging to a secret exploration program of the Serpientes (more in the incoming race file). The program needed the nest to be set in the wild of the Amazon Rainforest. Due to natural causes, only one egg hatched, and that was Asur’s.
On his homeplanet, Asur would’ve been probably of average build and strength. On Earth, he grew up to be taller than usual due to minor gravity, and he’s quite stronger and faster than any human could.
Growing up in the jungle for the first years of his life, Asur eventually came in touch with humans and their gadgets and culture. But always, at all time, Asur kept himself away from the other beings. it is not clear if such ingrained instinct was natural or genetically-prgrammed. It surely lasted throughout Asur's younghood.
Asur met Helmut during a visit of the human in South America to learn more about the complexity of ecosystems -or, rather, Asur rescued Helmut from an imminent deadly danger. Helmut was totally fascinated by the idea of a Serpiente secretely living on Earth against all conventions, and feared that should Asur be taken from the authorities, he'd end up in a cage or wors. And so the man offered Asur a job as assistant researcher, forging some of the documents thanks to an old family friend in Russia
Despite Helmut being on a tight budget, the decision proved to be a lucky one: Asur was an exceptionally fast learner and adapted himself to every situation. This, combined with his natural skills, transformed him soon into a valuable pupil and precious assistant. Helmut left Earth with Asur and the two became inseparable friends, despite the alien lizard loving to tease his ‘boss’ just to get on his nerves.

Asur's color

And if you want to have an idea about how he looks like, Rick gave me permission to use his AWESOME lizard guy as general reference. Keep in mind: Asur is jade-green, with deep green slit eyes, a more modern bomber jacket with a lot of pockets, and he kept his baby fangs -yes, his peers occasionally pick on him for that.
