I'm still going for the whole battlers of then paranormal thing, but then again I'm still on Season 2 of Buffy.
I've even imagined the opening with our characters.

edit: already working on Shin's little sister. if everypony's alright with me introducing her, I'll do up a character sheet. and approval to introduce her soon would be appreciated. It'll seem odd if his sister takes too long to be by his hospital bed.

appearance: She's alightly shorter than Shin, average height for a pony of her age.

Personality: She's outgoing like her brother, and loves flying and dancing.
Cutie Mark appearance: a full moon with a silhouette of a dancing pony on it.
Cutie mark info: she was always good at dancing, but no matter what she tried she couldn't get her mark. Eventually, she went to a party that Vinyl Scratch was DJing and found that her fly dancing was better at night, with the music pumping and the lights flashing, backed by the moonlight. She left that party with a new cutie mark. luckily, sky dancing (that's dancing mixed with wonderbolts style aerial acrobatics) is fairly profitable in Equestria.
other notes: She moved to GC with her brother but stayed home while Shin went and lost his wing.

My character isn't a fan of insane cultists, and if he does enter the whole Hateful Shade arc, it would be by pure accident.

Appearance: This unicorn mare trots through life with a style all her own. Her coat is electric-pink, while her mane and tail are long and flowing, similar to the world-famous model Fluer de Lis in styling but in stripes of orange, pink, and red. Her most striking feature, however, are her eyes. They are enchanted Fire Rubies, carved to resemble eyes. [Inspiration taken from the old "twinkle-eye ponies.]
Personality: Galaxy is a unique kind of insane, where she thinks of herself as "super-sane". A mechanical and scientific genius, Galaxy considers magic as to-be-explained science at best, superstitious mumbo-jumbo at worst. Don't even mention ghosts or stuff around her. HOWEVER! There is one area in which she will forego reason and give up all attempts at rationalization: Galaxy is a hopeless romantic.

The thing is, I assume medical magic isn't all that advanced, otherwise a wing injury as trivial as Rainbow's in Read it and Weep wouldn't have needed a few days to heal. Shin's is more severe. The knife cut a tendon, and even if they can reattach it, he wouldn't have the fine motor control that is required for a safe flight. Shin's the type to not want a wing he can't use.

as for the picture, everything he mentioned is there. blue highlights, black hair, reddish pink (though I see purplish) fur.
I suppose he did say she was tall, which isn't entirely accurate. I'll add text describing her height.

Nah, Galaxy's not blind, the gem eyes are enchanted for sight. Though, everything does have a slight red tint.

She has no eyeballs.
