Aha! It makes sense now. Guess I forgot that particular strip and assumed he learned it when they first got Grape.

Love how Peanut and Res have the same reaction, though. XD

And obviously that strip came after the strip where Peanut was surprised about Grape's gender but before they met Res.

Also, I imagined that had Peanut laughed, he would have also needed stitches.

I never noticed that before! That's adorable.
Buster wrote:i saw it, but i missed that it was karishad she was texting. i saw it more as her going "I'm so much stronger than you, that I can fart around mid fight, and still win".

In the next strip we see Sabrina coming in to take over for Tarot. So I was thinking that it was Sabrina that Tarot was texting, calling for her help.

In that same arc I think it stinks that Tarot can take a break but Bailey can't... and that Sabrina pulled a fast one by hitting Bailey while Bailey was distracted.

That is because Dragon had two avatars and Pete could only get one.

Also, I remember around that time when Sabrina smacked Bailey, almost everybody wished for death for Sabrina. :geek:

Those were dark times.

I wonder if people still actually feel that way. A lot of people can hold really nasty grudges.

I wouldn't be surprised, really. In general, we don't let things go.

Also, I've been meaning to ask, is this joke simpler or more complicated than it is?
Image

I'm not sure what the main joke is here, and what doesn't help is that the TV Tropes page lists this as a reference to the Red Scare, which was another sad time of paranoia going rampant in the U.S. (I've done some light research on that for a high school project, McCarthy's actions have been stuck in my mind since to varying degrees).

So, is it another instance of me over-thinking it?

That depends. Exactly what was the joke supposed to be?

well, Boris and Yeltsin are named for the first president of Russia, so the communism joke may be what Rick was going for.

Oh yeah OK. Now I see what the joke was. Yeah Rick probably definitely was going for that joke.

Of course, Jack's just that good! He even stole Miles' glasses WHILE he was wearing them!

But seriously, Rick, really like the little details you put into the backgrounds.

As for Ralph not noticing, he's a bit preoccupied on making sure the wedding goes off without any problems (which it didn't).

This is more of a meta thing I noticed. Apparently, this comic(https://www.housepetscomic.com/2010/04/ ... seriously/); the game-changing comic where it is definitely solidified that Grape knows that Peanut likes her, was posted on my 10th birthday. Pretty weird for me, but cool since it's one of the most important comics.
Also, another similar thing, except I noticed when it was posted, Heaven's Not Enough was started on my 14th birthday.

So does that mean you are 15 years old right now? I thought you were much older than that.

I thought he was 16, myself, due to him saying when he first heard a particular song, and going by when it was released.

But dude, that's pretty cool that not one but two important updates occurred on your birthday!

Yeah, it is interesting. Now I'm curious as to if any other members had special/important comics posted on their birthdays.
Amazee Dayzee wrote:So does that mean you are 15 years old right now? I thought you were much older than that.
Heh, I recall someone saying that before. Any particular reason, or just cause everyone else around here tends to be older?

I assume everybody is an older teen or at least the same age as me (23).

You did make me curious, so I looked it up. Sadly, nothing important really - a guest comic, filler and two fairly inconsequential strips.

I did realize a while ago you were much younger than I was. Honestly, it's just weird for me to think when Housepets started I was (and well, still am) an adult, while you were... 8, if I'm doing my math right. Basically you just make me feel old is what I'm saying. >_>

Yeah, it started when I was 8. I only started reading early in 2014, when I was still 13 though. Yeah, I don't really realize how long the comic has been running until I realize how young I was when it was started. I didn't even have the concept of a webcomic, much less one I'd be interest in, back in '08 I was too busy playing Pokemon and collecting Bionicles,

I am 48. I started reading this comic thanks to a friend's heads up in late 2008, so I was 40 back then. And immediately hooked

I was 22 when the comic started. x3

Let's get back on topic, I'm sure we (usually) don't notice our ages when we read the comic a second (or third or fourth or whatever) time.

Nope, I'm 16. Going 17 next month. (Monday 25th January).
I started reading Housepets! September 2015.

Getting back on the topic:

Look at those eyes in the second panel!
Has she been playing too much minecraft?
(Admittedly, I already noticed this the first time I had read it)

Eyebrows are always weird. Its one thing that I try not to visualize when I think of characters. I just imagine the eyes.

Joey has circular glasses goggles there:

But they're switched for rectangular ones in this strip and all the strips that follow this one:

(And also the glass spectacles are missing in that one.)

Might not be missing but just too clear but that still is a small mistake there. I never paid much attention honestly.

Mungo has actually appeared in the comic years before the more recent arc. I didn't notice that until just now. Here, take a look.

I think that was previously mentioned, but still a neat thing to find. Same tag and everything! But looking at that, seems Zack is rather nervous about the wolves, or just one of Snow's pups, which makes sense, really.

Also, curious if that Goliath-looking dog in the row in front of Mungo will make an appearance again.

I still get a kick out of Karishad's tuxedo! As much as I dislike those, it's a great look!

....seriously, hard to move, uncomfortable, hot, but with a proper tie, almost anyone can pull it off.

Also it seems that a brown dog with a blue collar in the third row on the right is trying really hard not to look at the pink collar dog's behind.
Must resist the urge to sniff.

It's likely that King didn't invite Bino, Duchess, and Boris because of his history with them. I doubt one would normally invite people that they don't get along with to this kind of event, King even less so considering his personality.
