Housepets! is one of the finalists for the 2009 Ursa Major Awards! The comic has been nominated for Best Newspaper-style Comic Strip, alongside Kevin and Kell, Freefall, Dan and Mab's Furry Adventures, and Doc Rat. If Rick wins, a bunch of furries will give him a giant trophy in the shape of a bear, or something! Yay!

Voting starts today, March 13, and runs through April 18. Voting itself is a two-part process: you must first enter an e-mail address to receive a voting key, which will then allow you to proceed to the final ballot. This is probably an anti-box-stuffing measure, so I assume that anyone will only be able to vote once.

If you've been griping about HP's standing on the TWC, this is your chance to vote for something that doesn't get reset every month. Plus, you have a whole month for yourself and all your friends to vote, so there's no excuse not to do it!

I'll be more happy with being nominated for a Eisner Award myself. Usra Major kind of lost any sort of cred when Softpaw was allowed to be nominated for a award.

I hope we win our first award. I voted. Really didn't have enough knowledge to pick stuff in other categories, but I did anyway .

This comic has a lot more than others first of all up dating it very often *COUGH* Vg cats hasn't been updated in WEEEEEEEEEKKKKSSS but i still like it somewhat.

The amount of activity on the other comic strips' forums seems to indicate more readers.
But they don't seem to have comment boxes, so more people on the forums are to be expected.
