I really never thought of Pete with Jafar's voice before, but now I can't help but feel that it would be awesome! Also I agree that Nicole Oliver would do great with Dragon, especially since I imagine Dragon sounding mystical. Also Billy West (Zap Voice) as Spot is also another one I never really thought of before but is an interesting idea. I like the idea of Andrea Libman as Daisy or Sasha, but for Duchess I think someone with a more regal or lower voice would be better, someone like Tabitha St. Germain.
Jafar was a last minute thought but if the actor can put on a Welsh Accent like the comic says he has then I can see it coming to life.

I dont know why but the Zap Brannigan voice never ceases to come to me when I think of Spot.

I almost suggested Tabitha for Duchess but the reason I said Andrea was because I haven't yet looked up whether Andrea did all the voices in the "Party for One" episode when Pinkie Pie starts putting on all the voices of those items she pretends to be her new friends.

That scene lured me into thinking she could pull off any voice imaginable. But then that could be multiple actors and good editing, could someone clarify this for me.

MAn, listening to Jennifer Hale voice acting made me think she would be a nice Grape or Sabrina. Moreso Sabrina in my opinion, but she could pull off Grape since there's that actionized tomboyish feeling to it.

as long as there would be a special feature where everyone is voiced by Morgan Freeman I would so buy whatever movie/tv show/audiobook this becomes
seriously, can't you imagine how awesome that would be?

Why does everyone think that the pets sound like they're in 4th Grade. I see them as being in their teens(13 to 16 dog years old).

pretty sure he's not a professional one. Unless working at a call center counts as voice acting.

If I worked at a call center, I would never answer a phone call in my normal voice, I can tell you that much. :P

Also, every time this thread comes back to the surface, I get a little excited that someone is putting out auditions for an audioplay for the comic. But then I remember that this is for recommending professional voices you could see in the character's spots, and then I'm just like, "Well, sugar muffin." (That's my go-to replacement for "Well, I'm a loaf of bread with no raisins." by the way; it's not a pet-name for my imaginary girlfriend.)

They had auditions in Fan Projects for an HP! radio show. You should check it out. Brent here is Peanut.

I really outta check the Fan Projects section of the board more often. >__>

I think I've looked at it literally one time since I joined the forum last year. Even though I generally hop on at least once every couple days; oftentimes more. It's really quite sad.

Fan Projects is a fun board! Lots of good stuff!! :D

With the new style, I seem to have new voices in my head for the characters.... Sasha is a lot more 80s girl to me now.

This seems interesting. Anyway, here's my list. I'll add some more when I get some ideas.

Peanut - Brian Beacock (Takato)

Maxwell/Res - Eric Vale (America/Canada)
Tarot - Lara Jill Miller (Kari)
Fido - Jason Faunt (Wesley Collins/Red Time Force Ranger)
Sabrina - Erin Cahill (Jen Scotts/Pink Time Force Ranger)
King - Hank Azaria
Fox - Billy West
Bino - Tony Sampson (Eddy)
Sasha/Daisy - either Andrea Libman (Pinkie Pie) or Philece Sampler (Mimi)
Joey - Mona Marshall (Izzy)
Rex - either Walter Jones (Zach Taylor/Black Ranger), Leonard Robinson, or Jerry Jewell (Russia)
Marvin - Joshua Seth (Tai)
Tiger - Brian Donovan (Davis)
Zach - Samuel Vincent (Edd/Double D)
Sergeant Ralph - either Daniel Southworth (Eric Myers/Quantum Ranger) or Patrick Seitz (Germany)
Kevin - either Patrick Warburton or Jess Harnell

I don't feel Tara Strong would be right for Grape. It would have to be her male voice to make it more believable that Peanut thought she was a guy, and I can't see that coming out of her.

I also don't really see Steve's voice coming out of Max, I actually think Vic Mignogna would be a better choice for him.

Lara Jill Miller as Tarot is believable.

I really don't know what Jason Faunt or Erin Cahill sound like, so I can't judge how I feel they'd work as Fibrina.

Billy West as Fox works for me.

Tony Sampson as Bino works, if only cause the voice would be as annoying as his personality

Andrea Libman as Sasha might be a bit of a stretch, but it could work

Mona Marshall as Joey might be good too.

Samuel Vincent as Zach works.

Jess Harnell as Kevin... I'm having trouble thinking of any of his voices but Wakko, and that definitely doesn't work. But his other voices may be good.

Cree Summer as Duchess, I'm not sure.

Patrick Warburton doesn't work as Miles for me, nor does Wendy Schaal as Lucretia unless she does another voice I'm unaware of.

I think of Daryl as more like Foghorn Leghorn, so I don't think Mike Judge would really work at least in my opinion.

I can see Cathy Weseluck as one of the cubs, and Ashleigh Ball as whichever one is female. As for the final cub, I think Tara Strong would fit this one.

I don't see Greg Proops as any of the ferrets, really, but It might work.

Paul Rugg as Kari works for me, but Karishad could also be a choice to voice Karishad =P

I think Pete should be voiced by maybe Jeremy Irons, but John Cleese may be able pull it off.

and Johnny Yong Bosch as Great Kitsune would work.

Has Rick ever actually weighed in on this thread? I wonder who he'd cast as his characters if given the choice.

Huh. Didn't get to watch much ANimaniacs when i was young, but then again ~ I remember there were other shows i was hooked to. But yes, I think does sound closer to Rita as well.

As for Runt? I say no. Peanut I would say sounds more chidish-like. Moreso around the area of, say, Tails from Sonic X or Hamtaro, but just a tad older than them.

I thought of that one guy from "The Hills Have Eyes". That movie was scary and sad at the same time.

Sasha - Maddison (from "The Basil Brush Show" - hear her here)
Duchess - Dixie from "The Fox and The Hound 2" (hear her here) Although without the singing.
Peanut - I think Marty McFly from "Back To The Future" would be about right. I haven't got a good video though.
Grape - Rita from Animaniacs.
Zach - Louis the Molehog from Ice Age 4 would be PERFECT for Zach!
Pete - I have to agree with Sean Connery on this one.

If I thnk of any others I'll add them later. Right now its very late (or early depending on how you look at it) so I'm going to bed.

Dang, I made my suggestions on another thread...
Miles - James Earl Jones.
Lucretia - Kate Mulgrew.
Shardul - Amitabh Bachchan.
The Milton ferrets - Christine Cavanaugh.
Peanut - Scott Weinger.
Pete - Jonathan Freeman.
And when someone objected to all the ferrets being Gosalyn Mallard:
But OK, how about Tress MacNeill? If she could do Chip and Gadget, she should be able to handle half a dozen ferrets.
TheOne wrote:Most characters change voices in my head when I read this comic, but all I can think of is Michael Jackson as Joey in the line, "I want to wear her skin."
OK, now I'm getting Jack Nicholson vibes, and that can't be good at all.

Jeeves - Who else but Stephen Fry? :P
Jasper - Teller :P

Here is a project for anyone that has the time to put it together.

The artist of the webcomic "Zoophobia" put together a video with images of her characters witha short audio clip of what she wants them to sound like.

Similarly to most people here, I see Pete with a typical British accent. Although I've always wondered wether it should be welsh since his human character (King's owner) is referred to as a 'Welshman' and he chose to make king a Welsh Corgi.

Is this a discussion about a potential Housepets! audio adaptation?

We have a pretty good resource pool to draw from so I wouldn't think the issue is lack of talent. Initiative is the watchword now.

Negative, this is a thread for discussing which pro voice actors you'd want to hear perform as each character. There's a topic for the long-running Housepets! radio play in the "Fan Projects" forum.
