Housepets! In a Poker Tournament - Who would win?

Post by JageshemashFTW »

In your opinion, which of the Housepets! Characters has the right skills and psychology to win big in a winner takes all Poker Tourney? For the sake of argument, let’s assume Texas Hold Em rules.

Yes, cheating is absolutely allowed. For some of these characters, it would be more surprising if they didn’t cheat.

I would probably take King because as a former human he likely played poker at some point with his experience being invaluable here. Otherwise I'd likely take one of the police dogs, Ralph and Fido seem like they would be smart and stoic enough to win some hands. Bino would cheat but he's too dumb and unlucky for it to do him any good.

I'm taking a different option and saying that it would be one that we would least expect so I guess Daisy just for the reactions of the other animals. XD

So illegitimate win would definitely go to Jack, followed closely by maybe Max

Legitimate win...I'm putting my money down for Rufus, Peanut by use of blissful ignorance, and yeah perhaps King. But as I am writing this it's becoming obvious that Tarot would win, being a psychic and all.

But would she still be able to win now since her powers aren't as strong as they were?

I'd like to think that Sasha would end up in the top 3 without understanding the game by doing what the pet on her right does

Tarot would be hilarious in poker.

Sabrina and Jessica for the psyche (good bluffers), Fido for the poise (can see him in a Maverick outfit), Yeltsin and Gale for the bluster, Daisy and Sasha for unpredictability, and Jack for the cheatin'.

Tarot's mind reading has always been limited. Even when her powers were supplemented by a space dragon from beyond space, she could only with Peanut's mind and only if he says it's ok.

The only way that she would actually be able to do that was if she still had all of Dragon's power flowing to her. Like I said before, since she has a VERY limited amount, I'm not sure how good she would be. Plus if she can only read minds with the permission of that person, all bets are off.

Duchess would just pay everyone to throw in their hands.

Someone would then ask why Duchess would want to BE in a poker game since she is losing money by bribing people to lose the game and she can't be gaining it all back. :|

She hates to lose, though, so she might spend (and lose) her owner’s money if it meant she’d win.

There are some good picks, but even if he wouldn't do well, Cory would do better than Bino. Craig and Draig would definitely seem like they would do well considering who they are.
I have ideas and I occasionally put them down.

Cory's definitely going to have the advantage of distracting his tablemates....

Cori would probably end up feigning that he was gonna spray the room to freak everybody out and throw them off their game.

He also seems too nice and might end up inadvertently letting his hand slip or he wouldn't have the heart to beat someone who was more down on their luck.

I can easily imagine Jessica being in one of the top spots when the game is over.

Itsuki (I think that is his name.) would try very hard in the right scenarios.

While I know that is true, I'm not sure how far he would make it in the game. (Hopefully farther than Bino...)

Or maybe a "Ladies Poker Night" - Bailey, Sasha, Duchess, and Daisy do a foursome?

You better be careful with how you classify them if they are doing a lady's night. Also unless Duchess forces herself in I don't think she would be included.

If Duchess tried to cheat Bailey might give her an injury to match Bino’s.

We just have to hope it would only be one and she could control herself.
