well,, the advantage of working with polymorph semidivine entities is that they can assume any shape whenever they want...
You could use an inside joke to explain why Pete should want to look even nastier.

A comic should not leave the reader asking what's happening.
I kinda agree on you.a good writer should not leave important backstory or personality trait for the reader to guess. For example, if a charcater starts to act OOC the writer can't say "oh, you don't know why? well, you see the character has this and this of backstory and that's why this charcater is acting this way" on the COMMENT section of the comic/fanfic. the writer must be able to tell the story within it and if the writer has to explain the story outisde of it with comments outside of the comic, then the writer fails.

The Pete to the left is more menacing because he doesn't look menacing. Sometimes the most dangerous things are those that give you no reason to suspect anything.

Hmm, the Pete on the left is nice, but the one on the right is a bit too stylized, I think. If you are going for comedy and a comic strip, might want to stay slightly cartoony.

Nonsense! Its just at the perfect angle so it's hiding behind his legs.
Artists who 'hide' bodyparts need to have a good reason for hiding them or it just looks lazy. He's not at any real angle in which his tail should be viably hidden. As for what Pete looks the best, the one on the right. The one on the left looks too much like your trying to copy Rick's style of drawing him and it just doesn't work very well.

well it is a fan comic with Rick's characters. If he wants to stay true to the characters, it makes sense to try his best to imitate Rick's style.

I assume that the 'hidden' comment was a joke. I think he genuinely did just forget it.

soooooo...yeah... I have been gone way too long, anyway turns out I died, BUT DON'T WORRY! I got better. well technically I didn't die but for the past I think 3 months (it feels like three months) I didn't have a life, so that counts right? word of advice don't ever take more than 3 classes a semester in college especially if they're heavily project based (I took 6, yikes!). anyway sorry for leaving you all hanging by not finishing this before dropping off the grid but I plan on making up for that.

anyway I have to go back and read all of your comments again to get a fix at where you all were at and try and pickup where we all left off. but more importantly I remember someone saying that I copied Rick's style too much so i made a picture of the new style that I'm going to use for the remainder of the story it looks similar to Rick's because these are fan comics of Housepets and I want them to have a similar feel to them. also I'm going to try and use backgrounds as much as possible, but they probably wont be as detailed as that.

I was going to make a comic with the brothers fighting over the can of soda pop but it turned into this. The dialogue went something like this
B1:Hey! give it back!
B2: I just want a sip!
B1: Coming from the guy who defines a sip as chugging the whole can! I should call you drought because you can single-handedly cause one!
B2: Well, I should call you kraut because you're a friggin' nazi!

alright I guess the only thing that needs to be said now is... FINISH IT!...fatality...

p.s. I wont get in trouble for that reference will I?

Awesome! Glad you are back here again. I never like deleting threads here for this reason. People get busy. I like for their stories to be here if they ever decide to come back.

You know I should see my doctor sooner or later, I think I might develop diabetes with all this cuteness floating around. Your style is a rather sharp kind of cute, which is really cool and interesting because most cute things I've noticed usually utilize soft curved lines.

So I did this comic as a way to ease myself back into doing these, also I wanted to try a few things.
I wanted to see how the 2x2 style strip would work out. I like it because it allows for me to have more space for each panel and I can make the text bigger and have more room for drawing. I also wanted to try my hand at backgrounds because with out backgrounds comics seem kind of dull.

If you don't know the first two panels are lyrics to a song. also thanks Justacritic for inspiring this comic idea, I had another idea that I was going to use but I'll save that one for later.

ps. is it just me or does peanut look a little too much like Fido with those glasses?

That message came because the server has a limited space for uploads per member. To keep uploading without limitations, first upload your images on imageshack on photobucket. It's quite easy!
Then click on the image with the mouse right button, and copy image address.
Come back in the forum and click on 'img'.
Paste the image's address within and voilĂ , you're done.

I actually do digital work with Photoshop and Flash but that's for actual work not for fun I can't use the computer with those programs for personal stuff. I actually have to use Microsoft Paint to resize each page of this comic. I'm trying to save up some money to buy the program Corel Painter 12. here's a link to the page for those of you interested.

I can't say I have ever heard of either of those tools, they look pretty handy. are they free?

definitely, they are free and all you need is a mouse and keyboard.
Sai-tool: just good, simple and easy. but it only works for it's only purpose, only drawings and paintings, no shape tool nor some cool effect in saitool.
there is a tool called line-work layer tool. it is really super duper mega efficient tool to use. it allows you to draw smooth curved/straight line only with mouse, and you can adjust thickness of the line. so you can give a sharp edge at end of fur or hair for example.

Gimp: exact same but easy version of Photoshop.

sai tool (watch out for the tricks)
Gimp (this is safe)
but I rarely use Gimp, I like sai tool more.

I'm loving the comic Scratch, you have a good grasp on Rick's style of comedy. I am interested to know who Fox was talking about to his squeaky bone, i hope that answer comes soon. The only critic i can possibly offer is that i think Fox looks a bit feminine and ironically Grape looks Butch
