The Not-So Dynamic Duo

Ah, my first post. This is my fanfic about a couple of poodles who stumbled their way into Babylon Gardens. Heidi (the apricot-colored poodle) and her sister Holly (the short black poodle) are "loosely" based on my two pets... Holly is so going to make me pay for this. Their owner, Antonio Premont, is purely imaginary (not based on me) and really no one important... for now.

So far, I only have a few test comics. Please excuse the grittiness of the images, I'm still getting the hang of this and experimenting with new techniques/tools. Enjoy at your own peril.

Alternate Texts:
1. Something Furry This Way Crashes: "Well, there goes the neighborhood. Spot help us."

2. Quick Time Explosion: It was originally going to be "Sharknado," but I struggled to imagine that ever being an actual thing.

3. Ah(h!) Memories... : "I'm sorry, I have to go look something up on Spirit Wiki."

These are great! :D I must say, I admire your backgrounds as much as the way you draw the characters. :)

Fantastic comic! Keep it up.

For some reason, two non-related dog sisters consisting of a sweet and sour duo and an involvement with a chimera reminds me of Chewychewy's stories.

You're the author of this cool comic strip! :D Nice other comics, good characters of yours and amazing drawing work, the comic style replicating is very good. ;)

Oh wow this is cool!

This comic looks good so far and major props for not losing that "Housepets!" feel. It's like I'm reading the actual comic and everything. :D

Thanks everyone! I'm glad you enjoyed these, they were fun to make. However, things are really picking-up with my job, such that it will likely take some time for me to draw more (I already have an idea of how the plot shall unfold). In any case, here's another quick comic that at least establishes that Holly and Heidi will be staying in town for a while...

Alternate Text: Daisy in her most sophisticated conversation yet.

This is the not-so dynamic duo, and in fact Heidi is being static... She found a great understandable friend. I bet that Peanut is watching the scene holding a bowl of pop corns...
Very funny, nice work! :D Just a note: Grape's muzzle need to be shorter, like effectively is for cats.

Ah, excellent point. Thanks Cesco... Don't want people to think that her nose is growing because she did invite Daisy. Rectified and reposted.

Okay. Not sure what is happening with my scanner. Everything is even more blurry, bright, and chromatically distorted than usual (it's just like drinking orange soda). In any case, these are previews that hopefully I can improve upon/repost if I get a chance to use the library's utilities sometime next week. Happy Labor Day!

Alternate Texts:
5. Golden Pipe Dreams: "Hey, don't rip on being a house pet in this house, pet."

6. One Dog's Trash: Holly found a POW block.

I just reposted the last two images. I still had to compress their resolution to attach them (making them still blurry), but I think they look slightly better now.

You have no idea... If anything, I toned-down their annoyance level. They are even crazier and more vexing in real life, especially Heidi... but I love them to bits.

Anyway, here's another short one for now until I have more time.

Alternate Text: "Wait, how do you even know how to whistle?"

Ok, Heidi is kinda crazy, she's a sort of advanced level of Daisy mixed with Sasha! :P LOL at "Fax" and at eating dates in that way. Great work. :D

Well, good to have done that. ;) But, shouldn't be a problem for you, I hope. When you love your pet, you have to love eveything of it. :D

Anybody who is a mix of Sasha and Daisy probably would induce insanity.

Hi All,
This may be the last time I get to do this for a while (at least a few months). I really feel the pressure pushing down on me (DUN DUN DUN D-D-D-DUN) to get my dissertation project underway. Sorry. Any way, enjoy...

Oh, and alternate text for "The Oddities of Homer": "What? I was gonna say 'asp'."

Bye for now.

Alternate Text for Kadoom Goes the Chimera: "Oh great, early trick-or-treaters. Let me guess... yellow Simba, Donkey with horns from Shrek, and Ekans."

FYI: Translations of what is now a full series in progress deserve a thread by itself, so HERE it is!.
Keep up the great job! 8-)

PS - if you could come up with some ATs for the previous strip, I'll gladly add them to the thread

aw, poor Holly! She was so cute having a moment of relaxation and KDOOM, here comes DA GAMER!
...*sigh* too bad she didn't meet King about striking deals with cosmic entities...

Heidi should be hiding something... Another mystical creature, but it's so horrible, it's far away than Cerberus' cuteness, for example... :P Ok the desires, but it's better don't accept anything from it, to don't start a new story (no, wait, the purpose is this)... :P Wondering what Holly has in mind now. ;)

... Okay, I couldn't resist placing ONE LAST ENTRY before going on hiatus. I made it last night and thought that it was just too messed-up to postpone (plus, it would be the 10th strip and I'm a slave to the base 10 numeric system). Ladies and non-ladies, Holly Premont is no more... I give you, Holly Wood... Yeah, I said that...

Chow for now!

PS: you can always PM me (eg. if you have complaints about how Homer's antics have caused a quantum singularity that tears this dimension asunder! I'll try to respond promptly when I'm not immersed in my numerical modeling of hurricanes and my experiments to create a ray that turns people into kittens.

Alternate Text: "Oh my gosh!... These clothes are so out of style!"

Yeah, I know, it's a low blow. My apologies :( ... But hey, I'll be back (hopefully) in a few months. I already have oodles of ideas on the burner, merely rate limited by how fast I can draw them out on paper... That's right Holly, your torment does not end here...

Looks like there has been a misunderstanding here: she wanted to be only a star, that woman was an example of it. :P Ah, mystical creatures... If now people will really see you as a star, at the end shouldn't be so bad. ;) She's now Holly Wood, original name. :P
Take your time, I wait for the update. :)

EVIL! Why did you have to leave a cliffhanger before you went on hiatus? I wanted to see what will happen next!

Oh well. I'm sure it will be something nice so I can wait.
