They look quite mysterious and battle ready with those ponchos. Also, Spike needs a moustache when he gets out of there!

That's a bit of a larger difference then a hair color but it still fits my theory.

Dogs always have whiskers, and tend to have lots of facial hair, so technically, yeah, they have moustaches.
I did saw a cat that had two lines of brown fur on the face that gave the impression of a moustache. But it was a female cat!

At the ery moment I saw it, I was inmedeately reminded of that episode of Futurama where the gang goes to visit the edge of the universe, and a few hundred meters away there is another universe that seems to be exactly the same, except everyone is dressed as cowboys.

I was wondering... a lot of persons asked me about Spike's breed (black german shepherd), and i actually realized sometime ago that he's a lot too distant from the breed he belongs... so i thought that i could change him a little to make him more similar to the actual breed

Of course it would be effective only from the next chapter, for this one for continuity reasons Spike will remain the same.

So, it's up to you guys. What do you think? You like the new one? You prefer the classic? Tell me what to do, and i'll do it ^^

well it looks weird to me, but probably only because I'm used to the old Spike.

another option is to explain why he doesn't look exactly like a German shepherd by saying he's a person artificially turned into a dog and doesn't need to stick to a natural fur pattern

I see... it's not important why is different though, it's just for graphic reasons that i wanted to make it more similar

Also, don't worry: if you don't like it, say it. I surely won't get offended ^^ if you prefer the classic Spike, i'll keep it, just wanted some feedback about it

I wasn't saying that to spare your feelings, I honestly don't know if I think it's weird or if it's just cause I'm too used to Spike classic. I think if given time with new Spike, I'll get used to it

Oh i know that i was referring in general, just in case

For example, when i showed it to my brother the other day, he said he prefers the classic Spike because "it'd be too sudden changing one of the main characters so deeply in the middle of the story, even for a reason like that. Plus, Primo will remain the same since there's no chance of a restyle". I must say, i have to agree with him viewed from this point.

Even though I prefer the classic Spike, I won't mind you changing his look. I like both of them. But your brother's right about changing him in the middle of the comic so... maybe you can make something happened to him somewhere in the comic that changes his fur. I don't know... it's up to you.

But, in my opinion, the Spike you have been drawing so far looks better, what with the white face and such!

I do prefer classic Spike as well. Reason: Kinda a lame and selfish, kinda... one, but I just prefer the look of the different colour muzzle and belly against the main fur colour on the head and back. The black and white contrast is cool. Though that's not to say the new Spike design isn't cool either. That's actually much how my IRL dog looks like (except her fur is a reddish kinda colour... I dunno, we named her Nutmeg cuz her colour is kinda that of the spice. Though she's also not deemed one specific breed. She's a mutt. Fun fact for the day. X3).

But for Spike..? It just doesn't seem to work. Though if you did decide to change it, like Brent said, given time, we'd all accept it as the norm, but it would be a bit jarring, still.

I think I like this version of thinkerbell.
Also keep to the original spike.
The new one looks kinda off for some reason.

...I'd prefer you keep the old style also.

What about Matt? He's the actual BGS. So the concept about Spike's breed being different due to being a transformation didn't strike as odd.

You could say Spike is a half breed with another dog breed...

Also, I like the new style, same as Valerio. I would not mind the change at all.

I like the new style a lot! (except for the stubby legs XD)
However, if you don't want to change his style, you just could say he's of another breed (like a Border Collie).

Mmhh! Weird, i was expecting a one-way poll for new Spike, this is conflicting.

Anyway, since the majority decided for the old design, i'll keep the old one even thou, the new design seems to be appreciated (except for that darn patch under the waist nfSZ), so there's the chance to see it somehow. Not on Matt for... reasons. Mmh... i'll think about it
