And the awkward silence consumed Samson as he walked away from Private Elliot defeated and with only his embarrassment to accompany him on his long walk of humiliation.
He tried desperately to ignore the hurtful comments thrown at him from many directions and disdained voices. He did not retort or retaliate, though.
He knew he deserved every remark cast at him.
And he walked away quietly into the setting sun.
Never to be seen again by the eyes of the ones he had betrayed with his silliness.

I've done a tad bit of research and it turns out you picked your character's name 'Samson' long before I ever joined the forums.
No I did not know this when I joined, my name comes from a movie, not your awesome work of written words. It would be far too insulting and in bad taste to copy a name from you. Nothing here is your fault. This was the horrible consequence of my impulsive ignorance.
