Someone getting a bit.. the sensation of almost recognizing someone at a high school reunion but the guy doesn't have a nametag? I swore I could smell some attitude in that post. Oh yes.. sweet, sweet smell of frustration and anger. I love my job.

Whoo boy. where to begin.

I been trying my hand at creating some hand-made fan art for quite sometime today, but after spending all day doing it, i was unfortunate to learn i wasn't cut out for hand-drawn art. maybe if i grew up reading Housepets, that would be a different story X3

So what i was left with was the shameless act of taking some artwork that Rick already made and instead re-editing it using Paint.Net to the best of my image.

I was a bit surprised with the results in the end. I took the liberty of making some small edits to the picture afterwards to give it a thought of priginality that closely resemble what i was looking for, and then i was able to get a picture that i considered closely resembling the cat i was thinking of afterwards. sure, it's a recolor of Grape, but hey, all the cats pretty much look the same =3

and to be honest? This 'was' what Raspberry was going to look like.

and thus, Raspberry was born!



Name: Raspberry Sandwich
Age: in this picture, the same age as Grape of course.
Parents: Grape and Maxwell
Fur Color: Dark Red.
Introduction: Raspberry was designed in my personal preference with Grape and Maxwell in mind ever since the end of the Date arc. Being a strong supporter of the Maxwell and Grape couple, i decided to take the effort to try to draw or at least come up with something closely resembling this character <3
History: Raspberry was born under the Sandwich household with Maxwell present. During the case of naming the newborn kitten, it was decided by Grape that he be named after something that she dubbed as "Family Tradition". Maxwell, after suddenly letting it slip that the new cat had the same colored fur as a Raspberry, was promptyly named "Raspberry" from that point on. Raspberry's kitten-days were spent on feeding him videogames and shopping with his mother and Mr/Mrs. Sandwich, generally avoiding the neighbourhood until he was old enough to go outside. Boy, does he ever feel lucky now...
Personality: Raspberry likes to live life large. he enjoys being a cat, loves to berate the dogs because of it, and loves to play mind-games with them. He is more serious about anything though when it comes to competition, even falling for something as simple as "The Game", and therefore is known to have a major competitive streak. He's been known to be witty when he calls for it and is known to get away from many bad situations with his quick thinking and is also known to be mistaken for a girl, something that Grape humorously reminds him sometimes.

There's still a purple streak between her knees. Also, that fur color is too bright.... just saying.

Why didn't you recolor the eyes? Did you forget it or did you want him to have Grapes' eyes?

I was thinking about him having Grape's eye colors and chest fur. =P

And Maxwell's fur is Brown, so it is possible for red to come out, just not so bright as i originally thought. XD *shameless edit!*

The fur color didn't seem bright at first but... <.< i think i see your point. going to dampen it more.

That purple spot between the knees was too hard to change. i'm going to try to put more detail in fixing it today since it definitely bugged me too.

Aw, thanks guys. I've always wanted to be able to draw, but I never thought to try furries. I've been drawing Peanut and Fox's heads on all my notes and handouts when I get a free moment. I just need to work on the body- especially the hands- and then I'll move on to other species, I guess.

And who knows, before long, I might be uploading PeanutxGrape fanart. Oh yes, I'm one of them.

You know, I thought I had absolutely no drawing skills either. I mean, it was so bad that it got to where I didn't want to draw anything because I got so depressed about it. Then I just tried to draw Peanut in some of his exact poses from the comic and got the hang of it pretty quickly.

I don't mean to brag, I'm just saying, try that- you might be as surprised as I was.

I have a tendency of being a copycat artist, even though i have a perfect picture in my head. but the other problem with my drawings is my unfortunate shaky hands and the issue with overthinking drawings.
