yes, I said ya'll. its a floridian thing, ya'll.
I would sooooooo voice act this if I could, but I don't have a mic. All I have is what came with my laptop, and it tends to give a lot of static to ANYTHING I DO.
Re: An ANIMATED infinitesimally breif history of the world
fine, ive got a mic. ppm me and tell me what i need to say and i can get it to you.

Re: An ANIMATED infinitesimally breif history of the world
Well, this is not from the exact comic strip Frank asked, but this is nevertheless a lion from this strip instead.
I had to do this manually, because the auto-vectorize thingy didn't work as I expected.
And this is the disassembled form of above.
I didn't try to animate it or anything, since I am a noob when it comes to animating. So this might not work that well (or work at all...) I probably need to learn the basic of animating with flash first, as I don't even know how to use the bone tool... >_>
Also, I didn't make its right hand, because Rick didn't draw it clearly at that strip (or at least I can't see it clearly). It is true that I can draw a little, but I haven't copied the Housepets style perfectly yet. Not to mention I have to draw it by hand first. So I just left it like that. >_>
And I forget to separate the iris or the ears and perhaps some other body parts, maybe next time.
I would upload the .fla file, but I don't have any place to host it right now. :/

Oh cool, but it says it is going to shutdown in 6 months or something.
Anyway, uploaded.
I am happy to hear it's perfect, but I still feel something will go very wrong if someone actually tried to animate it... :/

Hey guys, what does a chalkboard in ancient Egypt look like? I am having a hard time visualizing that... All I could imagine is a modern chalkboard.

Hey, does anyone know what the symbol of Ren (name) and Sheut (shadow) look like? I already found the symbol of Ba, Ka, Ib, and Akh.
I think Frank will be delighted to hear this! But he hasn't been online for a while though.Enty wrote:If you should need music of some kind.... *hinthinthint*

Re: An ANIMATED infinitesimally breif history of the world
Okay, here is my own attempt at making the storyboard:
Sorry for the terrible quality. I had to use my camera, since I don't have any scanners. And the file has to be jpg, or it will eat too much space. I also didn't indicate zoom.
But if I were to continue making the storyboard, I will probably have to remake this. Since this is nowhere detailed enough for anyone other than me to use.
Edit: By the way, is there any female voice actor here?

Sweet idea! Too bad I can't help. I got nothing.....
But I will root for you!
King: This guy is nicer than Pete!
Me:Hehehehe.....we will see.....
King:Gulp.
But seriously, drawing the characters is good, but what about the scenery? Or are trying to get the most difficult part out of the way first? It is just a thought.
Also, though I like the idea of Housepets animation, if I don't what it is about, I can't contribute. I know it something Rick wrote, but I can't find it. If anyone can tell me where it or post a link it would be helpful.
But if you need some scenery, I can try.

An Infinitesimally Brief History of the World is a Housepets!-themed novel Rick wrote for NaNoWriMo. He's posted snippets of it on the main page, but you'll not find the whole thing anywhere.

I heard that the area is in Egypt, so here is a image of a pyramid and a dune. Its not much and it is a bit crude, but I just think that scenery should be focused on as well. You may have already done this, but I haven't seen it in the thread, so here we go.

I will probably focus on my guest comic first, until Frank comes back or until I finish it.

Re: An ANIMATED infinitesimally breif history of the world
EmoPeanut, this school is supposed to be one of the "poor" schools, so I'm guessing they won't be allowed that close to the pyramids. Do you think you could push it farther away into the horizon?
Aquablast. I don't know what it is about your storyboard, but I found it thrice as funny as mine. Good work! Only thing is, (and I'm putting it up for vote) I think it would be more fitting the scribe's character if he nonchallantly stayed seated while swatting Sekmenhotep (the rod just happens to be that long)
And, yes, the chalkboard is made of slate (it says so in the story somewhere) But it'll probably be irregular in places and have cracks. Polished slate chalkboards were the ones that were sold in the 19th century. (Up until then, polished anything was reserved for nobility)
As for the hieroglyphs
Ren: "" (literally "mouth ripple")
or:
when written vertically. (Egyptian is written left-to-right or top-to-bottom)
Sheut is a silhouete of a walking man with a jackal head (a servant of Anubis). I can't seem to find a hieroglyph that would actually be used in writing though, only the elaborate paintings of Anubis found in tombs. However, this image makes me think that a stick figure with an elongated head and pointy ears should suffice.
And while I'm at it, "AAAA" is
(the "a" in "say" has a different symbol, though)
I'll try to upload something I've been thinking about on Boxing day, but right now I've got three other things to think about: My christmas avatar, a guest strip, and (in RL) Christmas dinner. (And I thought I'd be free when the winter break begun!)
edit:
I previously said Egyptian was written right-to-left. It's left-to-right. Sorry

Re: An ANIMATED infinitesimally breif history of the world
I am glad you liked it, Frank! But I think it is because I used more expression in my storyboard.
As for the scribe's position when he is swatting Sekmenhotep, I think it might be a bit hard to swat someone while sitting. Or maybe he can stand and swat nonchallantly?
Oh, can you give me a picture of non-polished slate chalkboards?

Think somewhere along the lines of that, but a lot thinner and a lot larger.

Thanks, Zander!
Same here, I am also busy with the guest strip. I think I will put all my attention there for now, since it actually has a deadline. Too bad my break only last until the 10th of January, I wish it is longer... >:Frank wrote:I'll try to upload something I've been thinking about on Boxing day, but right now I've got three other things to think about: My christmas avatar, a guest strip, and (in RL) Christmas dinner.
