For anyone wondering about Kilo's last remark, the reason he's still there is because, after Joan talks to Wicket to tell him why Kilo is late, Wicket acted in Kilo's best interest. He asked Joan to keep him. Kilo understands but he can get a bit... bitter about it.

Glad to hear it! Okay, before I prepare an application (which will probably be later anyway, not right now)... Richmond Acres doesn't have a college, does it? If not, the first post of the PF main OOC thread says this: 'Richmond Acres is a suburb nestled between a small city and expansive farmlands.'

That might be out-of-date, I don't know. Does it still apply? If so, could there be a liberal arts college in the small city? I want my character's owner to be an associate professor.

I guess if you're dead set on it, but I wouldn't count on it being so close. Also, before you submit your character, I would like to request that you avoid making one with a very high intelligence score, as we already have a pretty high number of characters whose main trait is their smarts and 1 or 2 whose main stat is strength

Oh, I wasn't planning on it. Educated owners don't necessarily mean intelligent pets.

I'm actually reconsidering the associate professor idea. It tied into the name I had in mind ('Carlyle'), but since it seems the other pets here have names that are unusual for pets... I want to balance that out a bit by giving my character a name people more commonly name pets in real life. I have 'Tigger' in mind... but that would probably be what a family with kids would name a cat, right? So... Yes, reconsidering stuff.

it's your character Light , just choose whatever name you like , don't have to consider to "balance" anything else

Oh, thank you, but my interest in balance isn't in any way selfless. I actually want more realistic RP, as can be seen from my posts on the main OOC thread.

We do see examples in the comic of pets with realistic names (such as a black cat being named Sabrina).

Real is as real does. I have a Kitten and a Mouse in this. Leslie the Tortie Male kitten is playful and full of energy and Kilo the wise mouse is thoughtful and has a few 'Stewart Little' type gadgets to make his life easier. He's also totally unafraid of predators because there's no point to it at his age. He can't outrun or outfight them so why be scared of them? But generally we try to act to character realistically. Resulting in a lot of Clinic visits that we're trying to cut down on...

We have two fox characters here and my rabbit character is petrified of at least one of them although he does his best to hide it. So there is realism but as in everything there is a certain amount of artistic licence taken too.

RA doesn't even have a high school. The nearest high school is in Kensington.

Richmond Acres was originally conceived as a retirement community, but evolved into its current state prior to it's start. The lack of educational facilities is a left over from that. It does have a daycare though, in the shopping district

No application yet, but I think I've just figured out why the name 'Carlyle' came to my mind...

Seeing the name of a comic I'd never actually read. It must have lodged itself into my subconscious, or something.

Also, while I'm here, is Kensington the name of the neighboring city? How small/large is Kensington, anyway? The size may help me in my character creation.
