*Excited to add character, especially for Soren's reaction*

So, <pest mode = active>... when're slots planned to open next?

Also made 2 revisions: removed a '?' that didn't belong and removed the bit for his height... as i think about it.. he shouldn't be a short cat :p

More spots will open when we get to day 2 or 3. Or if EA slows down to a halt for more than a week.

Meh, sorry my latest post took me so long to make...I was having a time of coming up with a post that kept Casper in character without drifting into an overly rude or overly mean attitude.

I officially announce that Lux and Nox are leaving the RP (For the reason that they were poorly made and literally most of the time they stay like statues and I mean literally.) by the end of the RP day, yet in their place I am currently creating another character who'll be more talkative and interactive with those around him.
The RP master and the mods agreed with that.

Yep. That's the way I'd run things.

So, how's everything going in here? I don't think anyone added you to the list of Pet Friendly RPs... Gimme your GM and I'll go ahead and add you.

If you'd be so kind, could musclecar let me know how many slots are left here?

To Tha Housefox: Do you mean how many are open right now? or how many i plan on having? or how many i have right now?

To RockstarRaccoon: The Rp is doing fine, just slows down sometimes. Other than that not much, just the occasional pm i need to send to a user to remind them to post.

He means how many total, how many filled, and how many available. Just go with that, it'll be easy for us to figure out whatever...

Glad to hear things are going well.

Brent and MuscleCar, something's been bugging me: you both use colors which are so bright I have to highlight them. Could you consider changing them to make my job easier?

see, I figured it was only a matter of time before someone brought that up. I'll see if I can find a more acceptable color before my next post.

Are you talking about Snowy or Speedy? I'm guessing Snowy but i need to make sure.

I don't know. I don't pay that much attention to the characters in these RPs. It'd be the one with text that's really bright.

I went into detail on it here: https://www.housepetscomic.com/forums/v ... 81#p382581

Well i guess i could change Snowy's color, but i think it's easy to read his color if your screen brightness isn't very high.

I can see why it may be hard for people to read - that shade of teal contrasts pretty sharply with the background. Please select a less-harsh color so people don't get headaches.

guess it's my turn to pick a new color.

I guess I'll pick a color that has no ties to my character whatsoever and hope it isn't taken.
is this taken?

I dunno, I don't think it matters as long as your own characters have different colors...

There's a trampoline in his basement?

I have yet to go far enough north to find a place where there can't be a pool... Ithaca college provides one for students and that place is an ice box after August.... I've been to Toronto in May and roasted in 96 degree weather... Unless Exotic Acres is happily resting on the edge of occupiable Canada, somewhere in Alaska or in Russia... i think a public pool exists, especially being a pre planned community, as those tend to have many public assets planned in...

Tha basement trampoline.... i hope theres a 30 foot deep basement or that the trampoline is exceedingly small...

I fixed the basement trampoline mistake, i didn't really think that one out before posting it. Also The pool thing. There is no pool, since there would have to be a lifeguard there at all time while its open. (i would know since im a lifeguard) And who would pay that lifeguard? Not Dennis. Not the city.

Re: Pet Friendly: Exotic Acres OOC

Generally speaking, there are a few approaches taken to the lifeguard issue:

1. The pool is owned by the local YMCA:
A. Lifeguard is paid by YMCA.
B. YMCA is paid by various memberships to itself.
C. Non YMCA Members pay a small fee for pool access.
D. A snackbar supplements income.

2. The pool is privately owned as a business
A. A small fee is charged for admission.
B. A snackbar supplements income.

3. The pool is a community asset
A. Residents' tax dollars pay for the pool
B. A snackbar supplements income.
C. Non-residents pay a small fee for admission.

In general, any of these would be able to provide plenty of money to pay for pool upkeep and life guards. In my hometown, I think the YMCA actually makes a profit off of the pool, between admission costs and the snackbar... That and given the amount of money the locals would have, being able to afford exotic animals and whatnot... I would imagine a community pool's funding is considered small change.

Or... You just have a "no lifeguard on duty" sign...

Funding is still needed to keep the pool water clean, unless we go with the community doing that or have a community creek or lake... Public lakes don't need lifeguards, just 'no lifeguard' signs... especially the State Parks.

Ok, I understand more now, but i still don't think that there needs to be a public pool. Why isn't private pools good enough for you?

I'm an OCD person, mentally I picture what would be an ideal set up and what seems to make sense to me. Everyone owning a private pool is impractical and in some housing situations possibly about impossible or not worthwhile... RP wise, that means if a group is desiring to go to the pool, either someone in the group has one OR they need to invade what another person is doing to use theirs... Which just seems silly to me when speaking in design of the community in the rp, there is no reason for it..

I'm crazy but meh...

this is a neighborhood where everyone can afford an exotic pet, I imagine every character would have a pool, eliminating the problems you mentioned because for every group, there is a pet with a pool.

There's no public pool in BsM. Actually, there's never even been demand for an actual pool (except once, recently, with Darin) There's a few ponds and lakes out in the preserve, but no one bothers too much about it...

Sometimes your characters have to deal with the conflict of not having everything they want when they want it. It's more interesting that way...
