As long as the ads aren't political, I'm okay with it.

I don't think political parties use project wonderful (yet) so you're safe

I'll talk with the co-chair of the Orange Party* about using Project Wonderful then.

*The Orange Party is a US political party that has no official stance and instead simply makes ad hominem attacks on its opponents. Exclusively. Tragically we have not managed to get any candidates on any ballots.

I'm not sure the Animal Control ad is proper for a site on a PG comic.

The forums can reach up to a MAX of PG-13. Most of the time, the rating is somewhere in between PG and PG-13.

That said, if you see a project wonderful ad that breaks rating, let Rick know, or let any of the mods know, and we can pass the message along to Rick.

I already blocked them from putting up ads because they were clearly not within guidelines.

If this counts at all as good publicity for advertising here, one of your ads has earned one webcomic one new reader.

That "Bloomin' Faeries" banner makes me question its rating.

EDIT: Yeah I just clicked it, and that comic is not fit for the rating of this forum AT ALL.

Why are there ads on here? Do they serve a worthwhile purpose? Also I just see the same three over and over at the top.

I've seen a lot more than just 3 ads. And the purpose is that... cash, I guess.

Money. Rick and Project Wonderful make a combined 40 cents or so a day or so from the forum ads. That's not a lot, but it's more than zero, isn't it? And it can go up when demand goes up.

There's just three because to be removed the ad needs to be outbid. It happens occasionally.

From what I estimate, they ought to make about a dollar a day each once they're at their full potential.

If I can make ten dollars a day from the site altogether, that would be excellent.

Do note people that by the time you hit that max rating, your already in trouble.

Well, no offense, but why is the rating PG-13 then? Lower it. I mean, if our posts can't be PG-13, then why not lower the rating?

Re: Adding ads

I should have said 'likely' because most of the time when people hit the max rating, it's the subject manner they choose.

Considering the comic isn't like a full-time job or anything, I'd say 10 dollars can go a long way if it's not the only source of income or expected to do things like house payments.
