Changing in Looks?

I understand that Rick uses more technology and software techniques as the comic progresses, but is it me or the character's looks have also changed over time? Try comparing Peanut from the first comic strip to the latest story he appears in to see for yourself.

Rick actually made a large change to the Housepets sty'e in the early months of 2009 that he mentioned to the fanbase. So, yes, the characters have changed. :P

Aside from the above mentioned deliberate art change it's normal style progression over time.

IT's a normal process. It shows that Housepets is a dynamic comic strip. In fact, almost everyone comic iv ever read has changed in art style. Its, well normal.

Yeah, merely the most special of the extraordinary are capable of retaining their very own style without the slightest trace of alteration and that sometimes over years.

Case in point, Mookie.

Compare this comic to this comic. In particular, note the dates. The "Zap!" arc marked the start of the style change, continuing mostly through the "Fall of the Pridelands" arc.

In addition, this comic is when Rick started speed painting the backgrounds.

Finally, we have the first comic just for some comparison.

So, yeah, the style did change over time. Or, rather, a big jump in one day, then refinements over a month or so.

it's in the nature of webcomics to change their visual appearance over time, in most cases it's because the artist has improved, but in others it's more a case of style evolution and more fluid techniques.

You know, the forum title looks dated now. Here's my take on an updated one. :3

It is pretty. Though i have a soft spot for multiple characters in a single banner. Maybe that's just me. Or you can have multiple banners and change em up but i don't know how much work that will take. Whether or not it would have to be manually changed or it could be automated.

I think that having a banner for every character would be pretty cool. Refreshing at page load, of course.
