I'm similar. I occasionally enjoy a Left 4 Dead or something, but generally the kinds of games I enjoy are pretty appropriate.

Nah, that will take a long time to grow. Instead, how about hair that doesn't blow even in hurricanes? :P
Lots and lots of hairspray.

It always amazes me at what context people will tolerate blood and gore in. I find it quite amusing sometimes.

I can tolarate as much as you like. The few games that I still like now are generally rated lower though anyway.

It's not like I can't handle blood and gore, I just don't tend to like the type of games that have it.

Gore is gore. It happens when an object hits a body at a high speed or with enough force.

Force = Mass * Acceleration so you can just say at a high enough speed.

Fictional gore? It's totally cool and amuses me.
Real gore, well... I get nauseated, panicky and start asking questions. Wish i didn't, but i rarely ever see it happen much where i'm at, and i prefer it like that. If i seen it more often, i likely will grow out of it, but for now, that's just the way it is.

I been playing it a little bit lately. PM me if you're interested sometime =)

Force and velocity are related by the equation F = m * dv/dt. So they aren't necessarily proportional.

I'm kinda numbed to gore due to the things that I've seen from my training as a first aider. Anyways, do hit me up for any L4D2 games should it need be. Also, tf2 cause there's always gore there from the blown up piece and bits

As well as acceleration =/= velocity.

I've always been very mature for my age, both mentally and physically, I even got asked once if I wanted a drink at a restaurant when I was 15. Gore's never affected me, I remember watching the beginning of "The Hills Have Eyes 2" on TV which has *WARNING EXTREME GORE*...a woman covered in blood giving birth to a monster baby and I suddenly realised I was completely expressionless and wasn't flinching or recoiling in horror. I've never experienced any real gore in real life though so who knows what I'd do then.
But Radio Blue Heart's right, it's strange when people will tolerate blood and gore, I remember hearing an interview with someone who read one of their kid's books once and he said it was amazingly gory, like if it was a movie it would be rated for people over 15 only.

Also, science nerd incoming, momentum is actually directly related to velocity (I believe it's Momentum=0.5*mass*velocity^2) and it has more effect on the energy imparted on a body from the moving object than the force does. However, you could also say that the force imparted on the body is equal to that lost by the moving object, which would be equal to the moving object's mass times its deceleration as it impacts the body, which would be huge. But then again, my physics is a bit rusty so I'm not sure which would apply more, but if I know the maths behind it, it'll all be interconnected.

*facepalm*
Sleet, acceleration is the derivative of velocity. Acceleration is the slope, or change of, or dv/dt, of velocity. Both formulas mean the exact same thing.

How strange that I just spent the last week before Christmas break learning derivatives, so as of right now, Beagle's post related to all of this is the only one I care to understand.
My brain is in total Christmas break mode right now.

I have been watching gore movies my entire life, but the thing that really helped me build up resistance to gore is nature documentaries. I loved those when I little and even more today. Once you have seen a pride of lions tear apart a wildebeest and eat it, you can pretty much handle anything.

Now, math. That is scary. I have never been good at math. It seems logical and straight forward but it never works out that way for me. It just serves as another reminder of how stupid I am.

"High enough speed" and "high enough force" are not the same, though. There can be high force and low speed or vice versa, even if we assume mass to be constant.

Escape from New York is a better movie. Escape from LA is just a rehash of it.

Its a fairly accurate portrayal of what Los Angeles is really like.

It's crazy to think how much has changed in the past year.

Merry Christmas, everyone! In my family, we have a tradition where everyone gets to open one present on Christmas Eve night. I got a set of 15 perfume samplers from Victoria's Secret, because I'm a girl and like to smell nice and stuff. :V

Also, my nephew (who was driving me up the wall until I went into my own room) opened his very first Christmas present- the gift I picked out last night. X3 He loves it! We got him a set of cloth blocks that have animals and numbers on them. They rattle when shaken, too.
