Of course. Luckily I am in such a position that I can reasonably expect to be able to pay for five years. So I', definitely considering it. I'll know by the end of my junior year.

I don't know if my parents are in a good position to pay for 5 years, but they're in an okay position and it was their idea for me to take 5 years so I'm okay with it.

I think I could extend my college education up to six years if something drastic were to occur. I'd turn 24 in February during my sixth year, so it wouldn't be until the next year before I'd have to claim independence on FAFSA, therefore most likely screwing up my financial aid (the only way I get to go to college). With the track I want to follow, I kind of have to go to college for 4.5 years anyway, as long as I don't fail any courses in college. This is all under the assumption that computer engineering works out for me and I don't want to change my major.

Don't most scholarships have 4-year limits though?

Huh, what's this talk of scholarships I am hearing so much about? Sometimes I feel as though one has to win the lottery to honestly be able to pay for college (without building up a large debt).

Sleet, that was just a $1,000 scholarship I got. My student aid will pay just about all of my education because my family is 200% below the poverty line. My college of choice is $17,000 per year.

Well in the Netherlands they higher education only costs the student about 1700 euros (about 2,300 $ at the current exchange rate) a year. So it can be done.

I know I was pretty shocked when I first heard that. I shouldn't have been though because In my experience the Netherlands is better than us in every conceivable way.

Yes, and you don't have to pay it back! Fill it out and try to get everything you qualify for. If you have a job, claim yourself on your taxes and you can get more grant money.


I wish I knew Dutch so I could go to school in the Netherlands! That sounds incredibly inexpensive!

Here, if you are not lucky enough to be born into a rich family, people try to make you feel like a parasite for taking grants, or you go into debt for the rest of your life as punishment for wanting to better yourself. Even though there are scholarships that reward natural talent, the competition for them is plentiful and fierce!

At my school, a jogging class that meets for an hour and fifteen minutes, two days a week, costs about $500 dollars!

Appalachian State University. I chose it because it was the cheapest, if you can believe it. Actually that is the class with the usual fees and everything. As I said before, its like they are punishing us for wanting to better ourselves.

So are we. Considering MSU isn't exactly a football powerhouse (at least not consistently) we take what we can get. : p

I don't follow college football very much but over the past few years Texas Christian University has really started to make a name for itself (in more ways than one).

Also anyone wondering as to who will win the Superbowl? My bet is on the Ravens winning. No offense but I was SO Happy when they beat the New England Patriots, which in its own way was a large victory in and of itself!

I don't follow any organized sport. I just don't see the appeal.

I guess you could say i'm the same way except that I like to watch my Rangers play baseball, it's kind of a family tradition. Football in Texas is considered almost religious and is very over zealous so I guess that is why I don't really like to watch it, everyone around here is too immersed in it to truly enjoy it for what it is! Sometimes it's fun watching a game being played at a high skill level.

The exception is basketball. It's no fun watching a single person make a drive for a quick dunk, repeat ad nauseum. That's why we have NCAA.

I grew up watching hockey with my dad and watching him play rec league hockey so I can't really explain organized sports appeal. It's just something I've always been around.

Ray Lewis won't let it go down any other way.

I enjoyed watching my High School football team back during the marching season, and I enjoy going to the basketball games with the Pep band now, but to just watch them the entire time would be too boring. I at least talk to my friends every now and then or get on my phone.

Same thing whenever I go to a Nascar race too.

Ugh American football is so boring. I liked pep band season 'cause we got to watch basketball instead.

I'm not all that into sports, but it's fun to go to an actual game every once in a while and get caught up in the excitement.

I like going to baseball games. Not necessarily for the game as much as for the experience of being at a baseball game, if that makes any sense. I just think it's a fun place to hang with friends, and for whatever reason, I really like the food. Baseball is just a game that has the right blend of time spent actually paying attention and time spent doing whatever the heck you want to do.

I don't follow sports at all, though, so I don't root for any particular teams.

I'm going for the Ravens as well, because the 49ers are division rivals of my Seahawks.
And OMG, for the longest time I had no idea that the two coaches were brothers! This should be good.

Next family reunion is certainly gonna be awkward. : p

I only go to super bowl parties for the food.
