About five hours ago, I was hit by a car, I am one lucky boy that it wasn't that bad

Over the years I've had a couple friends that bummed around my parents house enough that they were pretty much the 2nd son. In fact one of my friends has told me that he considers us his second family. I just kinda lucked out and got to be the one with cool parents in my circle of friends.

Okay, here goes. Anyone who doesn't like science should look away now.
Ovens and microwaves use two completely separate modes of heat transfer. One is convection which is inhibited by the conductive resistance of what you're cooking. Simply speaking, no matter how hot you make the oven, the centre of what you're cooking can only be heated so quickly. The other is radiation, specifically microwave radiation (duh). This moves through the food with relative ease but it only heats the water molecules, which then heat the rest of the food. Since water is in pretty much everything food related on a molecular level, this is particularly effective, however it does make your food soggy because it excites the water molecules and brings them out of the food and then they condense when it cools. It's a very complicated piece of machinery but all it really does is heat the water in things which then heats everything else. The only other forms of radiation are either too dangerous and make the food unfit for consumption or just wouldn't work as effectively as microwave radiation.

Sorry to give Brent such a good standing in the fight against the oven wave.

Also I can tell you exactly why food you put in the microwave can be hot on one side and cold on the other. Actually now that I think about it, I kind of know a lot about how microwaves work. And I actually have a lab coat. You know what, screw everything I just said! We're making this thing!

For some reason, most of tumblr posts (most I've seen anyway) are just art. Single images filled with huge numbers of reblogging and inane comments.

I was almost hit by a parked car in a parking lot when I was about 8. The dude forgot to put on his emergency brake, so the car just started rolling backwards. luckily, either I had passed it or hadn't gotten behind it yet, but it missed me.

Glad you're all right after getting hit. A four hour stay in the hospital is alright for that type of incident.

Even the deer look both ways in my hometown before they cross the street.

I don't hate it. I just prefer Tumblr.
I'm also in the process of unliking a bunch of those pages that have one, very specific purpose but keep posting things unrelated to that purpose.

Yah, when I got my foot run over I was there for about an hour. When I was vomiting blood (which, as weird as this sounds is a cool story to tell friends) I had to stay for two days. But all the free sherbet and the all I can drink cranberry juice was awesome.

I'm on FB pretty often myself. All of my friends have it, so it's the best way that I can keep in contact with them. I still meet them outside of that via real life, Minecraft, TF2, and other things, but FB is still incredibly handy.

I've never really thought of tumblr as a social media site the way that FB is. I know a couple of my friends use it pretty religiously and they have made and kept in contact with some friends there, but I really find it hard to think of it as anything beyond a place to look for random GIFs and reblog them. :B I myself just use it to follow a few pony-related blogs, but that's about it. I know that if I started using it the way my friends do, I'd never leave my computer, so I'm trying to avoid that if I can.

And I'm not searching for Sleet's page. :p I respect her privacy and his right to remain anonymous until it feels a necessity to share such information with me.
