This thread was almost titled "What is Chat Thread 36 supposed to be called?"

Why'd you ban yourself, Psykeout?

It means Diss is an old person and we're on his lawn... at least that's what it meant when he was the only mod handling the Chat Thread.

Used to be best friends? :'(

It's not really being pretentious, it's just something not a lot of people have seen/heard.

Dudette, you don't seem to have many positive things to say about me. How am I supposed to feel if you're constantly calling me a butt or otherwise putting me down? :(

Is this how your chat threads work? Make a new one every 50 pages?
...
why does this sound so unnecessary?

Because that is how it has been since the before times when theelders would huddle around the fire and watch rick sketch comics with charcoal

Those who question the moderators tend to disappear. Hint hint.

More seriously, excessively long threads are daunting to some people, and we don't want people to think they have to read through a 1000+ page thread just to participate. Also it might mess with the software when threads get too long.

Ah yes, I remember those times

I think the comic has improved from its earliest days

I also like the sense of history it gives with the increasing numbers and changing titles, but that's just a side effect.
The original Chat Thread was 100+ pages, and I agree that that does start to look rather unapproachable.

Also I think the naming of the threads is a sort of tradition and I enjoy that.
Ebly suggests that the next one should be "Chat Thread 37: Ten Lawns Later"

I don't object.
Wizard People, Dear Reader wrote:"Say, Ron, you look tired. Have you ever been tested for diseases?"

Ron replies, "At least I'm not a hideous cusser."

She says, "Are you going home for Christmas? I'm going home. My family's got money."

He says, "No, we're staying here. We're going to find out who that cussing Nick Flannel is, and rule the cussing school. So run home and open your presents. I hope you get a new pillow to cry into."

Ah.
The thing about you using "Cuss" as a censor for everything is that, while at first it was a semi-cute throw away to FMF, Now it's really immature and annoying and confusing sometimes and you sound like a big two year old.

This sounds really spiteful but I can't be cussed to make it sound more friendly.

good times.
They were better in the old days, but the popularity of webcomics surged tremendously when the internet was invented so people could finally see them.

No but my cussing is pretty hideous.

"Me: Man I wish I could use the word "Rasputin" more
Me: It's slowly becoming one of my more favorite words but it's really never appropriate to use
Me: I wanna use it all the time.
Me: If I could, I would use it as Rasputin article."

Has anyone ever marched 2 miles in a parade, high knee style, while it was over 90 degrees, sun beating down on you the entire time, while wering an almost entirley black uniform, while playing the entire time?

It wasn't as far as two miles, it was maybe 80 degrees, and we weren't high-stepping. Otherwise, yes. =P
