I plan on celebrating it like I do every year. Relaxing and playing video games.

If I recall correctly, valentine's day is two weeks from now.

Hopefully going out with my mate, but I dunno. It's kinda a dumb holiday.

Just whatever I can do with my mate. I agree, it is a dumb holiday, and all it really does is mark a high point of chemicals that stir lust and romantic interests. It's only a big deal becauseit's a chance to market products in stores.

I think most people think of it as a pretty lame holiday because it doesn't really serve as anything more than an excuse for all the tween couples to brag to their friends about who they got a date with. Outside of that context, I agree that it's pretty similar to a lot of holidays in that it's just a blatant reminder to do something that you really should be doing all year around (in V-day's case, doing something romantic or nice for your partner).

It's what a lot of holidays have been reduced to of late, but meh. I don't care much either way because I've never had a partner to share Valentines with.

Pretty much. Granted, if someone were to get me one of the Housepets! cards that Rick's made in past years or a FiM V-day card, I'd be pretty excited about it. :3 If only because it would let me indulge in my current fascination with both.

my elementary school was worse. they handed out a list of all of my classmates and basically said "give all of these people Valentine's Day cards"
no one got left out, but it was a completely pointless exercise.

Personally, I don't care for Valentine's day, its just a day like any other to me.

In elementary schools the policy tends to be "Give everyone cards or no one cards." I find the whole practice silly and worthless. I wish I had kits, because then I could send them to school with the snarkier Housepets! ones.

I think it's a silly holiday, but I suppose it's no worse than any other holiday and alot of people have fun with it so I'm pretty neutral on the whole issue.

I think ill just take a picture of the cards and then post it on fb tagging everyone i know. With the elementary thing, it was very akward, especially when you ran out of best friend cards and only had the love ones left

Valentine's day isn't really celbrated here, besides like 4 people that celebrate on their own.

In Rome, every man had to serve in the legion. But, you could get out of service by getting hitched, and the laws were so vague you could marry a tree if you wanted to, and so every man got married and the legion was in shambles. So they outlawed marriages of all kinds. Saint Valentine comes along and says "Thats not right!" and starts illegally marrying people, he was caught, arrested, and I think executed. If I remember correctly, in his cell they found the words 'remember your valentine' which is why Valentin's day is all about being with your boyfriend, girlfriend, mate if you want to use that term, and there. Saint education from The Saint himself.

Also, tell me how The Woman in Black is, I'm thinking about maybe seeing it. On Valentin's day, I'm thinking of seeing The Grey, tomorrow I'm thinking of going to Chronicle, so I'll be sure to talk about it a bit, maybe make a review of it, who knows.

I will. I heard it is EXCEPTIONALLY well done. And, I also heard Daniel Raddcliff is also very good in the film.

The Grey was AMAZING! Liam Neeson's acting ability is, in my mind, almost unbeatable and so off the charts, it can often times put actors like Leonardo DiCaprio to shame.

The grey had good story, you should watch it. The ending was amazing.

I kind of want to see the grey, but not bad enough to go see it before it's on netflix.
But it sounds like it'll be worth a look when I find an oppurtunity to watch it for free/cheap.

I really want to see The Woman in Black and The Grey. I saw Chronicle tonight and it was pretty good.

Any other movies out there you guys interested in seeing? Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close looks really good. So does Red Tails and War Horse.
